I bought the Carlinkit 5.0 2air for Wireless Carplay, and it was STUPID easy. I plugged it in, connected to my phone via Bluetooth, and I was done. It took me longer to write this than to make it work. Game changer!
Happy New Year! Thanks for the video! I have everything except the stream box, Tesla adapter and screen protector. I just ordered a Tesla adapter based on your recommendation, and trying to convince myself to get the stream box. Looking forward to watching your two-year review. I'm still enjoying mine. A few quirks here and there come up once in a while but overall a great car and still fun to drive.
Appreciate it! This video is taking longer to make than expected due to weather changing all the time but hopefully I'll get it soon. The box is okay, I find myself not using it much but I know on a road trip sometime, it'll come in handy!
Thank you for the recommendation. I will use your affiliate link for some of this products. I have a question, how many hours does the level 2 charger take to charge your EV6 say if its on 15% to 90% ? Thanks
Just for the sake of comparison... I use a level 1 charger and it charges by 25% in 11 hours. So if I plug it in at 8pm with 45%, it'll be at 70% by 7am. In my situation, there's no scenario where I would need to use up more than 25% in a day. And since I can, I always keep it in the 30-70% range, the healthiest range for a battery. (I understand a lot of people have higher needs than this)
I got my EV6 a week ago, and I can't imagine needing more than a Level 1 charger. Even if I drive 40-50 miles that day, it'll be enough to top it up overnight. And if I do end up going on a longer trip, I'll obviously need to top up at a fast charge station, not charge at home... I don't think anyone driving less than 50miles/day really needs one.
I agree but that uncertainty to me isn't worth it. Level 1 is super slow and if need to go somewhere all of the sudden and need it at a certain level, sometimes it wouldn't work. I also drive a lot though
@Emadifications Absolutely fair if you drive a lot. For me, this is plenty :) I think I'll max out at using 25%/day. And that's if I use it to go to the gym, to a job on the other side of LA and shopping all in the same day. I set the limit to 70% and I expect I'll always have that much at the start of a day. I'm in the early phase of owning an EV and crunching numbers all the time still :D Love love love the car.
Did you get 1000kw of free L3 fast charging at Electrify America with it? I did with my EV6. I only have Level 1 charging at home and can’t get L2 because I rent, but whenever I get under 20% I go to EA and take it to 80% in like 20 minutes.
@danieldaniels7571 yea I got that 1k, too. Used about 400 of it in 3 years. I don't think I could own an EV without level 2, but that's just my usage. I know people make l1 work.
@@danieldaniels7571 I did get the 1000kW. But I think it'll go to waste with me :P I'd rather pay 10 bucks and charge at home while I sleep than bother going to a station. I'm thinking of doing a road trip from LA to Vancouver Island and see family just to make use of that free electricity. I'm going to Vegas on Monday though, so I'll have to make a few stops on the way. At this point I've had the car for over two months and only been to an EA station once to try it out. I didn't really need to since all I need is Level 1 once or twice a week.
I did the wheels basically 2 weeks after I bought the car but if I had to guess, going from the stock 19s to these 20s probably impacted my range by.... 5-8 miles. Negligible is what it seems.
IF u have/drive a ev viecle u MUST have a lvl 2 charger. The ordinary 220-240 lines are not suposed to handle the capacity of charging a ev car. You risk an electric fire in your house. When you get a lvl 2 charger they put new bigger wires that can handle it :)) pls be safe and install a box by a certified electrician
100%. I should have mentioned to not just rely on a standard 220 outlet all the time with a level 2 charger and make sure the wiring and everything is prepped. I had mine installed by a professional specifically for EV charging
The number one thing that EV people need to buy is a generator (preferably made by Honda) and a jerry-can with fuel to power that generator. This will help them charge their vehicle when they get stuck in the middle of nowhere! Honda's generator set works best and is super reliable. EV people should always keep these two things in the car boot.

Good to hear! Hope it continues working well!
spot on list. all these items are mandatory for me.
Thanks! Yeah these things made my ownership better.

Thanks! Appreciate it, or you can use the Amazon links. Usually we charge from 20-90%, and it takes 5-6 hours.

What about DC charging from solar storage batteries for photovoltaic panels being used to generate power for a total home system.
That's def next level and you lost me ha ha
Problem with ev6 gt owners is the weather liners block the ambient floor lights.
Never thought about a matt finished screen protector!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Still have it and it still looks new!
EV9 has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Thanks for the update. So for that, I'd recommend the streaming boxes, not the wireless adapters.

How much did you see range drop with the wheels?

Lol? My EV can charge other EV's meaning the car is the generator!
Considering my EV6 can literally plan my driving route to use charge stations, this shouldn't ever be an issue.
This is obviously a troll comment :)
Why would I ever be out in the middle of nowhere?
