Visited the shop today!
From Cumbria, I had a fantastic Yorkshire pudding chicken wrap, It was life changing!, met the two Highlands and even spoke to the Ginger Guy with the Moustache! He was spot on! shed was looking good!
I even sat on the Cow seat in the shop 😂
The shop food looked top notch 👍🏻
What a fun visit!
I love the chats you have with your dad it’s nice to see x
Beautiful. Your videos are such a blessing to those of us stuck in the concrete jungles.
This!!
9:55 Get someone to test the flow rate - having to rev it higher than usual is a sign of the pump being on the way out, dont mean to be "the know it all" but I wouldn't want your main tractor breaking down at harvest.
Stay safe Tom 👍
Henry
Or leaking/ worn hydraulic valves. should check pump pressure, the opening/closing positions and wear of the valves first.
yea that was my thought there may be a pressure valve that restricts flow that may just need adjusting
I love the interaction between you and your dad. You seem to have a great relationship
Tom, would it make sense to put a bit of paint on the fence post nearest that drain covers to make them easier to find in the long grass? Great Video
in the US they use what we call tile flags, its a 6ft fiberglass stick with an orange flag on top
A couple of fine days mowing. It's the most amazing smell - newly mown grass. You and your dad are an awesome team.👌💛💙👌
Good jobTom! Wish you would have posted more wedding pictures. Know it was beautiful!
I do enjoy watching these videos as I find them so interesting, informative but also gives me a better understanding of what is happening around the local fields to me!!
Good Morning Tom and Family, The videos are amazing Tom and I love how you think about your dad's health/knees. That shows the gracious and kind man you are to put his needs before yours. I like when you and your dad talk about the farm- the look on your faces show how much you care and enjoy being farmers. God Bless and Be Safe !
Tom really enjoying your content, the approach you have to explaining farming along with your genuine love for what your do is a privilege/delight to watch. Thank you 😊
Again a great video thanks for making it 👍
Sure, it would be fun with a new tractor🙂 My advice is to put the money from a possible installment on renting one instead of now. Contact your dealer / neighbors if possible and if they have tractors available at all times. There are many things happening right now on the farm do not take water over your head
Tom, thank you for the video - I love seeing what you and the Ginger Guy are up to. I suggest that you paint the fence posts on either side of the man holes fluorescent orange so you don’t waste time looking for them.
The view AM and PM is such a blessing. I liked watching the work being done in between AM and PM. Good days work.
Excellent work👍👍👍. Thanks for sharing
Brilliant video Tom, thank you 👍
I bet that smells amazing! It was lovely of you to walk rather than making your Dad do it. Good lad.
I think if we saw a line up with 10 farmers, but we couldn't see them from the neck up, we'd all recognise the ginger warrior!! That shirt must be like a pair of comfy slippers. He's even got his own personal 'air vent'. Love it. Love the videos. The banter and the knowledge. Your videos make my day 👍
Hi Tom, I can’t wait to see you and your team start filling your NEW silo clamp with grass and will we be able to this video on Friday afternoon, because everything that your are doing on your farm is very exciting!!!! don’t you agree !!!!!!!.
loved the video.... great to see the ginger guy still loving farm life
Tom love watching your videos that really amazing and how hard you and your father work so hard to have what you men have do you have other siblings would love to see your mother in some of your videos
Hi Tom, congrats on the wedding ! With locating the drains, I noticed there was a fence there also, why don’t you put a marker on the fence?
Or a tall post next to it, that you can also lean the cover against?
That’s a great idea. Better than stacking a flag on the ground near it.
The special light morning & evening - its called the golden hour, photographers love it
Love to see real oldhorsepower work🥰 amazing videos as allways! But fingers crossed for u guys that u Get new tractor faster then u expected for more easy and faster work and comfort.
Tom, greetings from Utah, USA. It’s not weird to enjoy being in the fields and looking at your cows. I am envious of you!
Love the longer video.
The ginger warrior saying "I'll tell you how she goes" made me smile! Love his charisma and all the vids Tom, always excited for a new tuesday or friday, keep up the good work!
or the occasional Sunday! Ditto!
Love you video. Keep up the good work
Glad to see you guys mow your grass! Mine is all rotten due to heavy rains over here in Belgium!
Great video tom, good to see the 885 getting a work out.
Thanks for the enjoyable video Tom
So great to see huge grass getting mowed. The old 885 on the job. But yes, it is getting to the time when some trade ups may be a good idea.
Congrats on the monster crop ur lucky here in the USA we are going through a drought right now and a lot of farmers are hurting
In the US almost all tedders, including the smaller 4 rotors, are trailed as opposed to 3-point attached. I don't understand why trailed tedders below 8 rotor are not more common over here. The 885 is well capable of powering that 6 rotor Malone, but lifting it is the problem.
Just throw plenty of weights on and jobs a good un.
I believe because a lot of European farms have more tight spaces as oppose to over here in the US where most farms are big and open. Also the roads are on the same boat
@@benflaherty747 I think I saw Andrew shifting weight to the front of the little Case.
Congrats to both of you. From Cedar Rapids IA USA
Enjoyed thanks 🚜👍🏴
I've nothing bad to say about your videos at all . All I wish is can we have more of your dad with added music or just having a good old chin wag with him . Dad chats are always good :0)
Great video Tom like to see the other tractors doing a little work.
Very interesting. Massive crop of grass even if a little over grown. You certainly are trying out the mower.Nice looking tedder.
This is one of your best videos, I like to be in the fields with the equipment & listening to your banter with Ginger! Would like to see father & son give each other a big hug!
Haven't seen Heidi, must have missed her status on the farm.
Heidi hasn't been on camera for ages but she was helping to sweep out the new clamp. Maybe she has asked not to be on camera. The Internet can be a nasty place if you don't have thick skin.
@@graememckay9972 I noticed that, was it her? I saw some comments saying she left for uni and was not at the farm anymore. Her and Tom had said it had an expiration date anyway.
@@chicoktc I'm sure it was. Maybe back helping during the summer break.
Great video.
Fun video Tom! Just a thought, to save time, could you spray the post near those manhole covers a bright orange to help you spot them quickly? Just a thought, saves time. If the paint wouldn’t last, maybe a coloured marker….in plastic or something…..just a non farmer here with a thought. 👍❤️
"Maybe I like the misery" - Mrs. Doyle.
Put an old white bucket on
Using the revs to lift the mower could be the pump or something as simple as abit of dirt in the lines maybe disconnect the hose from the tractor and clean the connections.
Older kit is much more trust worthy than some of the newer kit good video as always Tom 👍
even though. there is always something up with our old case tractors.... not long ago i had the clutch pedal hinge break on the 1056 while gearing up to the pastures luckily not while coupling the tedder just before that...
an case 745 with sudden defect steering, also luckily on land while raking
not to mention the 744 that throws out its coolant, and an 633 that takes as much oil as diesel...
some very trustworthy shit...
@@FrisianFront should have bought a Massey
.... older kit, no DEF, and look at the new structures that are coming together, too many only look at the short range unlike you looking down the road of the future 5, 10, 20 years ..... I missed it, is this to be bailed, or does this go in the clamp, whichever way looks like you have a good yield with this cut .... like your thoughtfulness on keeping your sprays back from the ditch which ultimately ends up in the ocean ... that egg and bacon sani sure looked good .... thx for the share Tom .... as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....
Another good video Tom, think your idea of pensioning the 885 off for a new Case is a definite yes. Nice to see the old kit working well, but being as a modern farmer you need the new machines to operate the new equipment.
@John Powell Hi how are you?
Main tractor Fiatagri F130 (1995) and a David Brown 995 (1973) do everything I need, love the older kit. easier to work on, less electrics etc. Only drawback can be getting parts if needed👍
Awesome video. Love seeing the old machinery at work. One thing I did pick up though, you forgot to say good morning to everyone!!! Makes my day.
Looked like the priority valve on your Hurlimann needs looking at regarding the hydrolics 🤷♂️
So far so good 👍
Going around locating the man holes. How deep are they. I’ve got a suggestion. Buy yourself some 1/8 inch round x 6-7 foot fiberglass rods, then put you some orange or red pennants. That way you holes are marked and you know how much wiggle room you have.
Tom - I agree that the really early morning and evening light is quite spectacular. As for the 'weeds', they often are surprisingly high in nutrition
@Robert MacLeod Hi how are you?
Great videos keep it up 👍
Hope this helps you out, but I would say it’s your oil pump because you need revs to get any pressure to lift the mower, great video Tom
Great video, it was cheeky of the neighbour to put the wood in your field without asking, I would move it and see what they say
Cracking job
Love the King Edwards T Shirt from the Newcastle tour.
Ace watch!! Up in Manchester this summer working from August to October and plan on a day out to visit the farm shop! Maybe try and catch a glimpse of the infamous Ginger one!
You have some great looking grass fields, nice second cut Tom.
@Ron Pease Hi how are you?
Down in New Zealand we sometimes have the grass go to seed because it's been to wet to do hay
Good Tuesday evening to you sir and your family
I can see that this is a good video
Good video Tom and keep the chin up mate, your doing a great job considering no more Case 👍👍
A new tractor is not just a good thing for the farm but most important thing is for you dad's health.
cracking video, i also see both morning and nights and have got photos of great sunsets and sunrises, im a security officer and do shift work so do night shifts and day shifts. Also Preston born and bread so love watching your videos and hearing good old accents. Live in Northern Ireland now so dont hear good old Lancashire accents often :(
Such a good video, ginger warrior being a proper cowboy with the 885 and the malone tedder. The hurliman could be low on hydrolic oil maybe, keep up the good work🏴🏴
Good morning from the States! ☕🐄🐄🐂
If the case is getting hot just doing that job at a nice rate of speed it should be keeping the heat down a bit and he wants to haul silage with it maybe not. Great 👍video 👍📹
Getting it cut, with old kit or new, makes a great video
Big thumbs up as always mate 👍🏻
Keep them coming Tom, great video’s
9:55, I’d say it is the relief valve Sticking open on the Hydraulics,
Try the cheapest 1st, change the back end oil and replace the Hydraulic filter, it might be the filter blocked/restricted 🤞🏻
Need a Bigger tractor Tom for the six rotor malone tedder keep them coming 👍👍🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧👩🌾👩🌾🚜🚜great drone footage
That is a wicked looking machine 😮
Hi Tom like the videos, why don't you paint the post top next to the manholes so you can see them from the tractor.
Tom you keep wanting all this power for flat fields. We are doing 2000 acres of hay we use two 100hp tractors for cutting with 10.5 ft mowers. We Tedder with a 70 and bale with a 120. I can pull that Tedder all day long with a 65hp tractor it might be all it wants but it can still do it. Farming is all about efficiency and if your not baling, pulling your tanker or a heavy cart 70hp is all you need but I think with all the heavy hauling and increased soft ground conditions you probably could stand to have a 110 or a 120 but cvt is nice but expensive get one with a good power shift and you would have a good solid tractor and not spend a fortune. We almost always buy tractors with 500 to 700 hours on them just to knock the edge off of the price great video
Two reasons I look forward to Tuesdays, Tom and simplypodlogical.
Thanks Tom, hope you and Jo enjoyed your honeymoon.
Edited to add Emily d Baker and her tuesdays coffee and cursey words. If anyone reading the comments has any suggestions for good vids or podcasts, would love to hear them.
A fellow EDB fan here 👏👏
Put a dash of orange or green neon spray paint on the fence post to identify where the MH's are.
You want to get the flow rate checked on the hurlimann,
Reving the engine just shows the hydraulic pump is on its way out or there’s a leak internally.
Does the mower have a lift speed restrictor or lock off tap that could have been knocked?
hahaha I have just commented about this, I said the same thing 👍
put tape on the fence post closest to the manholes. just helps see where the hazards are
Forgive me, but when I was in the game 20 year ago we tried to cut the grass after lunch time to get the higher sugar content, having had a chance to grow during the morning. Is this still something that is considered today or has something or another theory replaced that?
Liked this one, having just had a couple of days in the seat again :)
good morning watching new video today August 03 21 Tuesday 👍👍👍✌✌🙏🙏🙏
Your dad really likes that old school tractor
Tom you could nail a marker like a plastic bucket lid on the fence next to the manholes. Make them easier to find.
Just get a new tractor already! The farm is getting bigger and its completely justified. You guys deserve it!
Maybe you can adjust the position of the sidelinks of the 3 point system, so the pullingarms go up higher? And maybe the hydrolic system is running low on oil, hence the slowness of the pullingarms going up..
I’m having a similar problem with our JD 1640 anyone else got any ideas? Much appreciated.
Thanks Edwin
Someone is having a look this week.
Yep. Still love this channel x
I would say hydraulic pump is on the way out. Get it pressure tested first to make sure, it's like a pressure gauge that fits on the hydraulic couplers, pull the hydraulic lever and see how much psi shes pushing out. It should be around 3000psi
Great vid
I love watching Tedding!!Or is it teddering?? Anyhow, I love mowing and tedding and chopping!!!
14 year old tractor is hardly broke in:) we have (john deere) tractors from 1972 that we use every day and they are till running strong!!
Happy cows are healthy cows, healthy cows are happy cows.
What about, a drone with a little sprayer on it so you can spot spray the docks etc while you're sat on the bog?
The problem of not being able to pick up the mower could be down to the fact you accidentally left spool valve in constant pumping meaning the oil we’ve got hot and thinner then it should be so at low revs the pump would struggle to move the oil especially on a hot day, high revs of mowing and coupled with possibly being a tad low on oil can be an issue with a non-variable gear pump.
Regarding the Hurliman, have you checked the oil, is it due a filter change, or it could be the pump on it's way out?
Turner seemed to be doing a fine job to me, so long as it's picking up all the grass, it was spreading it out well.
Very interesting video again
Two well sorted second hand tractors required I think something in about 150 bhp and another approx 120 bhp. Keep the other older stuff for feeding etc. You don't need all the bells and whistles as you not carrying out intense arable operations. With all your outgoings at present I would suggest a couple of well sorted tractors like this would tide you over until you see what is happening in the future for farming, hopefully a Rosie future.
Good video. I think you should look at buying a new telehandler before a new tractor Tom
there's something nice about the wine of the mower cutting grass, Ah its summer.
