  • I'm all about looking and feeling your best at any age but when women over 60 are still desperately trying to look 25, it kinda makes me cringe. Let's talk about aging and what it really means to embrace aging and to love the skin you're in.

I am 70 years old , and I rarely wear makeup. My hair is grey. It is a process embracing your age. I had to learn the hard way. Forced to retire because of back fusion. I had to learn to accept where I was. Every day is different. I had to learn how to walk again. It was a very humbling experience. I had to reorganize my priorities. Love your attitude. I hope your son is ok. Great job Mom❤

I can relate to be invisible. I have been visible for all of my life from society due to being chubby, when I was anorexic and bulimic I was visible. Go figure after nearly being put in the hospital for that disease. I am embracing my chubbiness. I am doing my best to be and get healthy by losing weight. But losing weight for myself. Not for anyone else, not for society basically for health reasons. But other than that I'm blessed. I have a good attitude about life. I like being alive. I help others. I bless others with my creations that I make and design. I'm a crocheter and a knitter. I also make jewelry and I paint but that's just me. I do what makes me happy and that's all that really matters in this life. I try to live comfortably as best as I can. I cut corners like a lot of people do in the states to survive since rents are super high here in Southern California. Even in the ghetto rents are high. I don't understand it but it is what it is. All we can do is survive and do our best❤

Iva, you know I 100% agree with everything you said! Being over 60, we no longer have to pretend to be young, don't want to pretend to be young, because we love ourselves as we are! We still take care of ourselves and look nice when we leave the house. My response to most things is been there, done that - including coloring my hair, only go out with make-up & heels on, go to the gym every day, etc. You know what? Listing those things just showed looking young/polished was hard work! I would rather use time living my life than getting ready for it! (Back then we didn't know what we know now!🎉) Love you, Iva, and I will catch you elsewhere since I'm on a limited budget and can't join [yet].❤

Hi Iva something you might want to try. Don't use soap on your face cleanse with 100% witch hazel with rosewater. I use 100% aloe vera gel with a drop of coconut oil for my moisturizer and once a week a make a natural scrub to remove dead skin. All natural way of caring for your skin.

Hello, watching this unlive and unplugged lol.
hahaha 'hi, I'm 58 and I'm better than you!' is what I'd say in the chat part while you were saying that!
In our 60's we've lived through lots of things, we don't want to be looked at and treated like we're younger, I want my age level conversations, I want company that knows our music and references I make. :)
I think some don't want to face their beautiful, rich true age. Women in their 80s and 90s, (from the one's I've known and the ones I took care of in a nursing home) keep things really simple, they answer questions with one word, one affective word. Worrying about things is just a waste of a good day dream.
Remember the Golden Girls? We need more of that sentiment between our mature community.
I've carved my social media to my liking, I block or hide the content I don't want to look at and subscribe to the things I do.
Our age group has a great sense of humour and that has a richness that puts joy and ease to ourselves and who we're in the company of. The most beautiful thing on anyone is their smile. I have had more 'ah ha' moments since finding your channel than I've had in a long time, thank for waking me up! I'd have been filling that chat!

    Hi:)
I'll be 58 this summer. About 6 mths ago, I was a bit sensitive about how I was changing, physically. I worked through it, lol! I haven't worn makeup, except for once in a blue moon in about 8 years now. I notice women that are ate referring too. I find it makes them look a bit older, and a bit foolish. Especially to the extreme of surgery, bright red hair at 65 etc.. so much easier and empowering to just accept where we are at. We were all 25 once:)

Iva, you probably know about "pain points" and how they are used in marketing products, services, advertising etc.
I think women are conditioned to see themselves through the eyes of marketers targeting our vulnerabilities.
The more independent voices, like yours, appear the more the algorithm will follow and provide content that promotes our personal beauty.

my take on the psychology of women: most women hate any other woman that they perceive to be better looking than they are. guys might feel the same way because handsome guys can get good looking women without effort. women are more forgiving about men's looks, a good looking woman will often take a guy who isn't up to her level looks wise; so women aren't as superficial in this regard. that's my 2 cents from a shallow hal.

  • @leslieburgess921
    @leslieburgess921 10 днів тому +3

I think ageing for women is a process, at least for me. At 62, I feel myself gradually embracing what is happening. It’s hard to accept I think, that we’re never going to be as pretty or as hot as we once were, and that era has passed. But along with that and on the other side of it, is acceptance and a kind of relief that I don’t give a shit anymore about any of that lol. I don’t wear makeup anymore and love that freedom of just being natural me. And I absolutely agree that what makes us beautiful emanates from inside, our strengths and joys and empathy and compassion, and a life full of experiences. I would not change or try to erase one wrinkle or imperfection on my natural face.
