Tomshine 80W Mini Gobo Moving Head { Unboxing & Thoughts }

- So I didn't have a lot of money and wanted to add moving heads to my setup. These were only about £50 on Amazon and they're cheap and cheerful moving heads.
Surprisingly bright output and easily master/slave-able. They just got added to Rekordbox Lighting as well (took a few days for the request to be done and an update released). At present it only works in white spot mode with Rekordbox, but hopefully they'll fix that in the future.
Expect a more in-depth review once I've gigged with them.

Thanks for sharing. Looking to get back into local band lighting again. Lighting has come a long way since it was all high wattage pars and you had to tap into the power company to power them.
Thinking of buying one of these for the corner of my bedroom for when am listingong to music and having a party. Would get a haze machine but not looking to link to DMX or anything.
Was going to get 1 of these and the 110 quid green lazer with a smoke machine.
Do you think that would be a decent we setup for 200 quid or do you recommend anything else?
Hi! Thanks for commenting. If just for your bedroom it’ll be okay. However these have a pretty narrow beam on them. For a fairly decent single room light show at the £200 price point the Chauvet Swarm, ADJ Stinger or a similar multi-fx would be pretty good if you’re sticking it in a corner. You’d get more light in the room for sure. 😊
@@DJRandomHajile thanks for the reply I checked that one out you mentioned but don't think it's for me. Far too much going on. Think am going to buy one of these 55 quid ones and a green lazer for 100 quid pair that with a smoke machine and I think it be a prity sweet setup
Nice video, would be better with light off...those look more bright then deep colors...I got 60 watts China knock offs, they are all knock offs from China...colors on mine seems more richer...maybe it's your room with lights on ? 👍
Would you purchase these again if you needed more or if they broke? Asking because I'm looking to buy some moving head light for my band.
I'd probably get them again, but the biggest issue I have is in smaller venues, the beam angle doesn't throw enough light around. They're quite narrow and in a small pub without a smoke machine, they're a bit underwhelming. However, for a bigger venue, outdoors or with a haze machine running, they're pretty nice. Hay how do you activate the sound mode on these? I got 2 of them and i turned on sound mode and on both they don't react to sound.
Once you have the Soun1 or Soun2 selected, press the enter button and it should work. They're pretty sensitive and it might be that the sound they're reacting to doesn't follow the beat. If they're not moving at all, then they could be faulty. At worst it should fall back to its auto pattern, though.

So far they've been great little lights. The only complaint I have is that the beam is a little bit narrower than I would have liked...

Does it have a forward facing show mode?
Hi there! Sorry for the late reply, been both busy and ill. :-/ They do have a front facing mode. If you use the Sh02 or Sn02 setting, then it doesn't shine back into your face. :-) At the moment these have been working really well for me. The only complaint I have is that the beam is a bit narrow, so I want to probably add some kind of diffuser or prism at some point to the lens and get it covering a bigger area. Are these bright enough for house partys
For a house party, they're more than enough. However they have quite a narrow beam angle, so be aware that it might not throw too well. If you're using haze then it should cast enough radiant light as well as the beam for a decent effect. Thanks for commenting! :-)

They're pretty loud without any music, but once you get the sound on, you don't notice them at all. :-)
