- This is a quick video review of a generic chinese 80w LED moving head spot. This unit is of good build and so far I'm impressed. The video shows what's in the box, some onboard functions and dmx channels. I also have some clips of the lights at a live function.
If you have any questions, please comment 👍
*This is not a paid review. I have purchased these lights with no discount *

Thanks for reviewing these. I was looking to buy a few of these so your review helped. Your dog sold me on them. LOL
I’ve got 4 of these just for my living room I love them
From my understanding is the Showmode 1 is the light goes everywhere, Showmode 2 is if the light is hung upside down and Showmode 3 is front facing the the light will never face the dj or the wall behind.
I have found these need to hung upside down in order to get any use from the pre program shows. Unfortunately without Dmx they will just scan the ceiling nothing else. If you want something that will do that and currently have dance floor and crowd lights these are great.
FYI these lights are not 80w, I bought 2, reportedly (accourding to product info) that were 100w, tested with a power meter, fixture uses 25w WITHOUT LED on, and 30w WITH LED on. So LED is approx 5 watts.
LOL....Love the dog!
I love your 00 gauge models haha, looks like a Virgin 43 and a Northern Spirit 142 to me! Love the mover too!
Haha! Thanks. Yeah it's a real collection. There is a smokey Joe, queen of Scott's and a live steam mallard too lol
@@fearntree Awesome haha
Thank you very much for this review! I've had one of the 25w moving heads form uking and was thinking of purchasing some more powerfull ones from them. I was just sketched out by the varying specs (80w on UA-cam, 100w on their website, different led types, total power and led power not adding up) and the price that matches 10w moving heads from reputable sellers. The customer service wasn't very helpfull either in this case and my question for the led part number was ignored (I wonder why). Though I've decided I will buy a pair of these as the price is just to good and well worth the sketch.
how did you add your lights to the app?
would you be able to tell me which one to choose on the adj mydmxgo? seems they added a few since you created your own.
1. uking gobo moving head 9-11 chan
2. uking led spot moving head 9-11 chan
3. uking mini moving moving head gobo light 9-11 chan
Great review thank you. I’ve just bought some and they came with remotes, any idea how I sync them to the remote? Cheers
Thanks for the comment :) I'm afraid I don't know. I'd imagine it should work out the box really. I don't think mine came with a remote.
@@fearntree Yea I thought that too but the remote literally does nothing. I’m looking to buy the ADJ My Go kit, just watching another UA-cam video on it as we speak
I am considering buying these. I read somewhere that these lights get very hot. Is that true?
Good Video. How do you set these to just focus on the dance floor. Thanks
Thanks, you'd have to use dmx programming if you want anything specific
Does anyone know how I program my two to sound, one master, one slave? Thanks.
Are you still happy with these? Are they bright still?
Hi mate, would you recommend 4 of these for a home bar 18x18x13 FT
100% really bright! They might annoy people if they're shining in their eyes though. Also for the best effect the room wants to be dim with some smoke or haze 👍
Hi, I found these exact same ones on Ebay but they're white and have an LED ring around the lens. its u'king, will they be the same. They're 80W.
How is he ment to know
Great video! I am new to the world of lighting, being mainly a sound tech. Is it fair to say that the higher the wattage the brighter the light? Hope your well!
Hi, yes generally the higher wattage the brighter light. Light is measured in either lumen or lux so if that's listed use that as a guide. The wattage advertised can sometimes be the total wattage of the fixture including motors etc.
@@fearntree thank you!
the link is no longer available do you remember the name of this light
Nice vid! Chauvet should be ashamed for having their bottom models being only 10 watts... they're are basically low-medium powered flashlights! I am sticking with the Ebay/China direct brands until I ever need some REALLY crazy lights (motorized focus, moving prisms) - have you ever found knockoff versions for those sorts of lights? I searched Alibaba also directly and it seems that most of the cheaper stuff available is 100 watts and less and no advanced features. (yet one can buy "fake" iPhones... you'd think any light available would be available as a generic...)
You're right! Its not even worth spending the extra for the 'customer service' in my opinion. If one of these breaks you can try and fix it yourself or buy another one. It will be cheaper replacing this than a low end chauvet mover!
@@fearntree -- agreed, however, finding the same light a year or so later can sometimes be hard or impossible. Meaning your dmx programming will not work correctly.
also matching colors up.
I use a lot of these type of lights however with mostly good results.
Can you measure the watt from the moving head? I have mini moving heads with 90 watt bought from "wish", measured 25 watt.
A little late but I can assure you that the wattage numbers thrown around by Chinese sellers are never accurate. But on the other side even 25w is great at this price point as you get about 10w for 100€ from reputable brands.
Hello I just want you to know that sh 1 2 3 4 is the movement!
These are pre-programmed shows you can choose from
How have you connected this to your kindle mate?
I use an interface by American dj called mydmxgo 👍
It's been two years since you posted this video. Do you still enjoy using these moving heads? Have they had any issues?
Theyre still going strong. I've not had any problems to date 👍
@@fearntree thank you for that. I have been waiting to buy these, since all I want to do is highlight the wedding couple during their first dance
How many days did they deliver to you here in uk?
Hi, the shop I bought from on Ebay has a UK warehouse so it took under a week.
I've used these lights before and they are great lights and they took about 3 days for me but depends
hi mate what profile did u use it i cant find it mydmx go can you help me pls ?
Hi, it's a custom profile. You'll need to download the profile builder. It's quite straightforward 👍
@@fearntree i cant find profile whats call the uking brand to many on it but not work
So... 3 years later. is it still working?
I retired from DJing last Christmas but they worked for pretty much every weekend solid for the 3 years I had them.
How much those? 🤔
What is the song called at 6:02?
Hi, I can't remember the name. Its a UA-cam royalty free song to prevent the video being blocked for copyright.
Does that iPad come with it?
Afraid not! That's an amazon kindle which is about £35 in the UK
@@fearntree ok darling xx
These are unusable unless you have a dmc controller. The damn light will spin all around pointing behind it half the time. Good thing you use dmx. I sold mine because of this
I'm pretty sure one of the shows is forward facing on this unit. On most Chinese lights their in built shows are a bit random...
@@fearntree i guess i had bad luck. I bought 2 units that looked exactly the same, 80w same menu same show mones and none of them faced front only.
SH is show mode show 1 - 4 ect....
Yep.. I have the wash style moving heads and there is quite a bit of difference with shoes 1-4 in terms of the movement pattern
Could you pass the profile?
It's not a perfect profile but if you want it drop me a dm and I'll try send it over
fearntree on Instagram?
fearntree I would live the profile as well
I need a gobo light that creates a nice solid white beam large enough for the person to stand in the center of the beam and be able to hang it or put it on a light stand. If it makes different colors that’s fine. I need the size moving all around to be stationary the beam anything it’s just under $100 that’s not junk? And can you program it without buying a separate controller? Thank you.
Hi Donna, I'm not totally sure what your requirements are. I think you'll struggle to get a light for
