The 3D games are officially done and supported by the actual game developers in partnership with ACER. This 3D gaming is just as official as the 3DS with vastly better quality visual 3D quality. What games would you like to see supported?
I'm an avid gamer who enjoyed 3D-Vision 2 on 1080Ti but nVidia killed it later on and then also removed support for installing 3D drivers on RTX 30 series onwards 😑 Good to see Acer aced it in new 3D Tech! For me, this type of 3D Tech with or without glasses, is way better than those VR headsets because it lets you use your regular computer without complete blockage from real world. Can't stop drooling. 🤤Just snagged one Acer View Pro 27-inch 3D Monitor for now. Awaiting delivery. Will snag a laptop in future when Acer releases an RTX 50 series 3D in 18-inch screen size. 😁 Thanks for the good review! 👍
Just bought the laptop!! So excited - getting it next week woohoo! Hey so when you play normal 2D games - does it convert it on the fly? (Sorry am writing this while 50% into your video - in case you mention this later in your vid)
Congrats on your purchase! Hey not sure why my comment didn’t send the first time. Yea it does 2D to 3D conversion on the fly and the results range from pretty cool to not so great depending on the game and graphic style etc
@@josh_3D it's pretty amazing!! unfortunately my laptop didn't come with the video game app that shows you what 3D games are available from Spatial Labs... I've gone to Steam and found some there such as the demo of Sonic the HH. (that's amazing btw)... any solutions? do you have a website or social media for PM's?
@@josh_3D so odd.. my reply also didn’t come through lol. Hey do you know where we can get the video game app for spatial labs? My laptop didn’t come with it. I’ve go the other apps as part of the pro version of Spatial Labs suite.
Hey Josh, do you have any news about what's happened to the lower end version of the Acer 3D laptop, the 'Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition'? They mentioned last year that they expected to release it in February and I've not heard anything back since then. I've not able to find any further information, wondering if you know anything about it?
I haven't heard anything. I can only guess the reason for why the product didn't release on schedule and has had no further details revealed. This has been happening with 3D products since last year CES with the 3D OLED ASUS laptops. They were announced, supposed to release in Q3 last year, and we never heard about them again.
@@josh_3D What would be your guess? even if way off I'd like t know what you could guess because I cannot figure out what that is. In fact, they put a twitter at some point in February or March promoting them but they never replied to when it was going to be released...
The problem is they don’t give any easy way to screen record in 3D or display just the left and right image. I could try recording a session capturing the 3D effect of the laptop screen but that is also very difficult
That’s not a good sign where Acer is taking this technology because nearly every gaming PC and console nowadays comes with a way to record video of your gameplay. If they are being this restrictive about recording, they are probably being very protective of their technology, which will likely prevent wide-adoption.
@@ahmetrasid5375 I completely agree. All the companies doing 3D are doing the same thing to future proof themselves, but by doing that they are making it difficult for that future to ever come in the first place.
@@josh_3D The only reason VR has thrived today is due to Meta's persistent innovation and provision of affordable, competent hardware that's easy to develop for. Unfortunately, the current hardware space for 3D displays and tablets lacks such companies. I don't want 3D displays to end up like e-ink, which has seen decades of stagnation with only one or two companies dominating the sidelines.
Nice. What I would love to see too is just multiple longer-form 3D stereo gameplay seshes like the ones you showed briefly, in 4k, and not squeezed but just the regular ratio. Then people could watch on a VR headset or even just on a phone by looking through it and focusing on each image with each eye, and see what it looks like to play the games in 3D but more immersive. The trick would be getting 2 cameras to stay under your eyes while they are pointing right at the screen. How did you record these short stereo videos? Also, if you want to turn the bright lights off, you can buy a reading lamp and clamp it to your laptop and point it at you. I got one on amazon that can do red orange and yellow at different strengths and you’d be surprised how little light is needed sometimes to get the eye-tracking working. Much better experience in low light, and usually I feel like people watch UA-cam at night and would prefer low light too.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to edit and format footage that way and then get it to be supported as a 3D video on UA-cam. But I have been thinking a lot about that and will probably post longer gameplay sessions on my other channel in 3D once I figure it out!
Thank you very much for your videos, there isn't as much content on this new technology with as much information as your videos provide 😁I really hope that TOMB RAIDER I-III REMASTERED will be available in 3D Ultra. That would be amazing if the remastered Tomb Raider collection were in 3D Ultra. Fingers crossed! I actually haven't played any emulation in 3D, but it sounds like it would also be perfect on the 3D gaming laptops

Hello, I was considering getting a new laptop and I think the acer helios spatial labs edition would be a good choice, but would you say it is high quality and worth the price ? I want to make sure if I get a laptop like this it lasts for years.
I think it is certainly high quality and worth the price, but timing wise I think we are kind of in the middle of a cycle. If you can hang in there and wait a year and a half, I think you will be able to get a brand new laptop that does all the same things but even better, with more games supported. But if it is important to you to be able to enjoy this incredible 3D tech as soon as possible, I think you will be happy with the purchase and it should last you at least 5-6 years before you need to start thinking about upgrading.
@@josh_3D How does the screen function in 2D mode? Is it true that this laptop has a faint "dot-pattern" when in 2D mode (aka normal laptop mode)?
