I love 3d pop out but for me depth is what i want i wanna feel like its a window into a different world open world games being what i want from that i really want these displays to be on par with a good quality 4k tv because at nearly 2gs its a bit stretching for people like me also i have a samsung tab for my art but i really want one with a 3d screen that would make it perfect

Awsome detail to the overview, thanks so much. Been gaming in 3d since 2011 nvidia 3dvision... so excited for this tech, it's been a long time since New 3d hardware has been released. Best experiences batman games, the trine games, tomb raider games, max Payne, meteo last light, Google helixmod and there is a list of 3d games that have been fixed. If you have any connections with acer, tell them about the 3dvision community who have kept 3dvisin gaming alive since nvidia ditched the tech several years ago 😠 the community fixes games not developed in 3d to work and also enhance supported native games. Thanks for the video.

Someone needs to make a 3d walkthrough channel on UA-cam so we can at least see how these games look in native 3d.

The problem is they don’t give any easy way to screen record in 3D or display just the left and right image. I could try recording a session capturing the 3D effect of the laptop screen but that is also very difficult

Nice. What I would love to see too is just multiple longer-form 3D stereo gameplay seshes like the ones you showed briefly, in 4k, and not squeezed but just the regular ratio. Then people could watch on a VR headset or even just on a phone by looking through it and focusing on each image with each eye, and see what it looks like to play the games in 3D but more immersive. The trick would be getting 2 cameras to stay under your eyes while they are pointing right at the screen. How did you record these short stereo videos? Also, if you want to turn the bright lights off, you can buy a reading lamp and clamp it to your laptop and point it at you. I got one on amazon that can do red orange and yellow at different strengths and you’d be surprised how little light is needed sometimes to get the eye-tracking working. Much better experience in low light, and usually I feel like people watch UA-cam at night and would prefer low light too.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to edit and format footage that way and then get it to be supported as a 3D video on UA-cam. But I have been thinking a lot about that and will probably post longer gameplay sessions on my other channel in 3D once I figure it out!

The 3D games are officially done and supported by the actual game developers in partnership with ACER. This 3D gaming is just as official as the 3DS with vastly better quality visual 3D quality. What games would you like to see supported?

Thank you very much for your videos, there isn't as much content on this new technology with as much information as your videos provide 😁I really hope that TOMB RAIDER I-III REMASTERED will be available in 3D Ultra. Have you ever tried retro gaming emulation in 3D? (Dolphin, PCSX2, ePCSX, SNES9x, etc...)

That would be amazing if the remastered Tomb Raider collection were in 3D Ultra. Fingers crossed! I actually haven't played any emulation in 3D, but it sounds like it would also be perfect on the 3D gaming laptops

Hey Josh, do you have any news about what's happened to the lower end version of the Acer 3D laptop, the 'Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition'? They mentioned last year that they expected to release it in February and I've not heard anything back since then.
I've not able to find any further information, wondering if you know anything about it?

    • @josh_3D

I haven't heard anything. I can only guess the reason for why the product didn't release on schedule and has had no further details revealed. This has been happening with 3D products since last year CES with the 3D OLED ASUS laptops. They were announced, supposed to release in Q3 last year, and we never heard about them again.

Hello, I was considering getting a new laptop and I think the acer helios spatial labs edition would be a good choice, but would you say it is high quality and worth the price ? I want to make sure if I get a laptop like this it lasts for years.

    • @josh_3D
      @josh_3D  2 місяці тому

I think it is certainly high quality and worth the price, but timing wise I think we are kind of in the middle of a cycle. If you can hang in there and wait a year and a half, I think you will be able to get a brand new laptop that does all the same things but even better, with more games supported. But if it is important to you to be able to enjoy this incredible 3D tech as soon as possible, I think you will be happy with the purchase and it should last you at least 5-6 years before you need to start thinking about upgrading.

@@josh_3D How does the screen function in 2D mode? Is it true that this laptop has a faint "dot-pattern" when in 2D mode (aka normal laptop mode)? I read on a review site that the reviewer could see a faint "dot-pattern" when in 2D mode as if they could see the transparent lenticular layer, but that was for the older Helios 300 SpatialLabs model so not sure if it applies to the new one. Seriously thinking of buying it but I'm stuck on this purported issue.

@@user-yg4kj2mf1p I actually have the Helios 300, not the newer one and I haven't once noticed anything like that in 2D mode. It looks like a normal nice laptop display to me. But it is possible that if you are really looking closely you may be able to see something. I don't think you are likely to notice though, since it hasn't caught my attention once. If you are concerned it will be distracting for you or hard to keep you mind off of though you may want to find a way to test one out first before buying. The Predator Helios laptops both have this True Game app, while Concept D and Aspire do not. The amazing thing is that using one of the other apps you can convert pretty much any game into 3D in real time. Of course the effect isn’t as good as it is for any of the modes I showed in this video. I just tested it with a game on the Epic play store and the conversion works

    • @josh_3D

Fan noise fluctuates depending on what you are doing. It can get pretty loud, but personally it has never once bothered me during a gaming session. Either its fine or I completely don't notice. The speakers are excellent and the 3D visuals are stunning, so I'm always too immersed in the experience to notice. I play all of my games on maxed out specs in 3D mode, and it can handle everything fine, with only occasional stuttering. And thats on the older model with is RTX 30 series. With RTX 4500 everything should run near perfectly

As a person who is sensitive to fan noise fluctuations myself, I am using PredatorSense to adjust the fan speed manually to a constant, but very low level for light tasks like office, social media and web browsing. A medium level for 3D movie consumption, and auto or even max level for 3D gaming.
