What are you guys running for cylinder heads? I have a 347 with AFR 185cc heads, I am going to try the Joe Sherman, Shermanator roller cam and see if I can get over 500hp. Do you guys run a main girdle on the bottom end? I have a 1978 302 block, not sure if the roller blocks or later ones are better?
Trans was a liberty build. The motor and trans are out and the car will be getting some chassis work this spring. The torque boxes were taking quite a beating so we are going to address that issue, possibly try a w tire. Pan has not been off the motor and it was pulled running with 40 psi oil pressure hot idle.
The factory gears will handle well over 600hp with the right clutch, if you want to upgrade start with a 1 3/8 wide ratio input (liberty can make one out of 4340 steel for around 400 bucks) and a 31 spline big block output shaft. Toploaders are a very strong transmission, definitely the best bang for the buck when it comes to a street/strip transmission. If you’re looking to leave the trans synchronized, you can install tremec tko carbon fibre synchro rings that allow for 7500 rpm shifts.
@@boss_racing does this go for toploading big block trans? I have a buddy willing to give me one with a cracked 429/460 Bell housing that I want to swap for a 4.6L modular Bell housing.
@Mad Mod the big block trans is strong, very strong. However they have a very tall 2.32 first gear which is good for road racing but way too tall to get the car moving off the line in a drag race application. They have larger 1 3/8 input and 31 spline output. They shift better than tremecs in stock form.
Nothin like the sound of a built small block Ford....what a badass rig...
That brother can drive, best shifter I've seen in a long time!
Luv how violent that car is!! Stop lite 2 stop lite street killer!!!
Ol' dads still got it!
Fuck that looked violent as shit, I'd love to take a 10 second ride in that thing
Drag racing alway get you amp up best high ever love it
Love this car man! She’s got some serious ponies that I want in my truck lol

Try doing that with your MT82!!! Excellent pass👍🏻
Two words,,,,,,god damn!!
which top loader did you use? im interested in doing the same.
It’s actually a boss351 toploader that’s been pro shifted. 2.78 first gear small in/out
f'n nasty
Sounds amazing but he's shifting at 7000k 8200 is probably is rev limit.
the shift light was set at 7300 he’s pulling it around 7400, car sees 8k out the back
Man that is one bad sob little 347, is that an aftermarket block? Or factory production 302 block?
Factory roller 302 block
@@boss_racing Heads cam intake?
@BR-P-2001 // It’s a stock roller block, but with a cast 347 rotating assembly. Cast crank I beam rods forged pistons.
@BR-P-2001 // almost 10 years, still running

Yes. This was my dads first time ever driving the car and he was within .003 of Stacy. There's also 50lbs difference between the two of them.
Any updates on this car ?
Who built the trans ?

Is this a old toploader just redone by liberty and is it straight cut or faceplated
Liberty Pro shifted, original helical cut gears.

what clutch do you run with the toploader setup
act diaphragm with 6 pad metallic disc
What times did you run
What mufflers are on it? Sounds amazing
My guess is none. I'd bet it's running open headers.
Open headers yes
WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU
Rear end gear ratio? Hp?
5.13. Made 440 to the tire
Wow now I see how you were trapping 120 plus in fourth lol 8k
This is a different car. It has 5.13 gears, ran 129 mph and crossed just shy of
8000.
I wanna see it outside the car
On my channel there are a few outside vids
10 seconds
You need to hang that thing out a little more in 3rd. You and the other video of this car , both shifting around 65-6800 RPM in 3rd.
Shift light was 7100-7200, both drivers shifted on the light going into 3rd. Not sure where you're getting 6500 from
First time watching I thought the light was set more around 7800ish .Didnt see it was at 7
