Very nice video! That's why I keep telling people that having a gap before Vegeta Blue's 236M isn't terrible since you can bait and punish it. Love your content, keep it up!
236m from a same side block string catches mashers, reflect works but if you follow up with LM, the L will whiff and the M will hit unless reflect is timed properly. If they spam button after reflect, most of the time the L part of the MLM rekka will hit buttons or an iad, since priority. You can also stop on reaction the moment you see a reflect and be completely safe, in fact I usually take the time to backdash and throw an assist in the case of Bardock or any character with a fast lariat type move. Before playing neutral again.
@@shadowking2153 ah sorry you were talking about the gap between 236MM, I usually only use this as a visual confusion tactic, the M follow-up-1 will whiff completely if your 236M is reflected, but since Vegeta is kicking so much usually online players spam reflect, setting up for a M follow-up-2 punish. 236MM is not very good because a player who has this knowledge will reflect between blockstring and 236M, and use the gap in between 236M and 236MM to punish with a 5H or 2H, depending on which button is better for them,so only use this option when you see the 236M has hit. But since you're doing it in blockstring, and used the 236M to open people up, you should be doing MLM anyway since it leads to more damage and less scaling
Man I just got back into this game after a long break and your videos have been so insanely helpful. Keep up the amazing work, you've got some of the best DBFZ content.
Great video as always! I hope goku blue gets a 101 soon. I've been having tons of fun with him lately, the corner loop is something I can't get yet but he is still super fun character. It saddens me that most goku blue I find out there just spam the IT kick.
from a neutral position: tap down -> up+forward -> neutral -> forward Number pad notation is: 2956 The only difference between this and a regular instant airdash is that you need to tap down first. Once you're in the air, you can hold Up+Forward to drift farther forward. Or you can hold Up+Back to halt your momentum and travel a shorter distance. It'll take some practice to get the muscle memory down... This isn't a very commonly used option (depending on the character), but it's pretty fun to do.
Hey Rath I heard some buttons when you were doing SJ IAD I was wondering if you had a hitbox you were playing on? I want to try one out but have been hesitant on buying one
I switched to hitbox last year due to hand and shoulder pain (I had leftover joint problems from when I used to swim competitively), but you can absolutely compete at the highest level with any controller that fits you best. Whatever you decide to try out, give yourself a month or so and be patient. Don't expect to be perfect with it immediately. Also, try practicing directions with simple platformer games! I learned fightstick 8+ years ago by playing megaman 9 with it
How to tell if I did a true 50/50? If its a gapless true blockstring the opponent will automatically defend? I dont know which options should I use on practice mode
the upper body invincibility attached to down heavies doesn't kick in for a few frames, so if there is a very small gap, it won't be a good option (probably getting them smacked during the early start-up). This is why we don't see people waking up with 2H versus meaty safe-jump knockdowns.
@@rambutan_lychee9255 change up his moves is the way to go he's a great character but man he's crazy Gt Goku on the other hand they need to remove him from the game
@@rambutan_lychee9255 Yeah that's a good idea people only really only use high tier character's instead of the people they really want to use if it meant they'd win. Pause the game and go to your button settings. Towards the bottom of the menu, you should see "record" and "play" options. Map these to whatever buttons on your controller that you don't use in matches. Hit whatever record button you set to switch to the CPU. Hit it again to start recording. Hit it a 3rd time to save whatever you recorded. Now you just need to hit your "play" button that you set to play it back. Hopefully this can get you started! This stuff isn't always very intuitive so don't feel bad for asking.
It is a very real/strong mixup, because it is a super fast overhead. But unfortunately, it will be able to be blocked either direction so long as the opponent is standing so it is not a left/right mixup. Gohan should be mixing up between the fuzzy overhead and a low option for that 50/50
RathFGC so basically if they block high they block the crossup as well. It is a tricky mix to land midscreen. Well thank you man:)! Btw can you do a one of your character videos for adult gohan. Would be nice to see your stuff and opinion for this character.
Yeee I'm on PS4 , just hopped back on DBZ Fighterz after a few months of not playing. And never got a chance to master his loops lol. I think my starter is what is throwing me off, 2.M>5..M>j.c>j.M> 236M>2.M>5.H (only able to do the first part of the loop lol)
You can reflect lows, but you can't reflect if you are in a true block string. So if we try to reflect (because we think there will be a gap), but there isn't a gap, then we won't get our reflect to come out. But since we have to stand up to input a reflect, we can get hit low for standing up. I hope this helps clear things up 🙏
It’s no longer in the game but it’s when you overhead someone who is blocking low but they’re currently in the blocking high animation so their hitbox is bigger.
Use the record feature in practice mode............... Its actual not hard at all bro to record and save to a slot. Mess around with it again its not difficult at all
You have some great videos indeed. My only problem is that you don't mention frame delay, you talk a lot about reacting to things - baiting the reflect and stuff. but at what point (or what frame delay) is reacting to things not realistically (for an average person, let's say) an option anymore? I'm curious about your answer.
I don't know whether or not you mean unreactable mixups or actual unblockables, but either way they are both in the game so your comment doesn't make much sense.
@@Phoenix-pb4sm I meant "unblockable" as in "whatever you choose, you're going to get hit". And as shown if the video by Rath, the game won't allow it.
Good video bro, but I still thinking this game sucks because its very poor with defensive options and mechanics. Its a shame that in a lot of times you can get in the 50/50 positions and you cannot do nothing but block. I will give the last chance to this game in season 3, I hope they fix many things and bring more defensive options at least.
