Thanks to Line 6 For Making This Video Possible.
you are actually making more sense than line 6 guys... perfect place to learn how to use the gear
I've learned more in 45 minutes than reading the entire pod go instruction book, thanks !, great video
What block did you use for distortion ( what pedal ) ?
This is absolutely the best Pod go hook up and use there is on UA-cam! The time stamps are extremely helpful! I have watched hundreds “it feels like” that run on and on about personal stuff and are not clear on actual hook ups. Thanks for putting the time and effort into this.
I echo every contructive comment below. You are a gifted and thoughtful instructor.
Holy hell man. By far the most informative and easy to understand video on the internet about the pod go. Thanks so much. 🙏🏼
Mate this helped me learn this unit so much more than everything else out there! Thanks very much!
Glad I stayed to the end. Convert the effects return to aux in, so glad I learned that!
This is the best video on the pod go I've seen. Subbed 👍
The best demo and explanation ever!!!!!🙏
A friend of mine with a big real amp and a sketchy pedalboard just bought a Pod Go to do exactly what you've got a 34:42. I sent him this. Nice work, as always. 👍
I have watched tons of videos for the Pod Go, and THIS ONE tells me what I actually want to know. LOL A hat tip and big thank you (though I don't have this). Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Thank you for uploading this. Your instruction is clear and easy to understand. Appreciate your time and effort on editing this tutorial!
Best set up video so far
Best video on pod go
Excellent, Richie, just got my POD Go today, so watching your review saved me a lot of trial & error pain as like most, I’m not a manual reader!! Many thanks!👍👍👍 Great playing also 🎶🎶
Great job, Richie. Best Pod Go demo I have seen. Love my Pod Go. 👍🏻🎸
Awesome video! Thanks a lot. I especially like the idea to combine the Pod Go with the Helix Stomp. I got the full Helix, and Pod Go for simple gigs, as a light weight alternative.
god I wish I was talented and smart like you man youmake everything sound good and look easy to create, thank you for videos.
Richie - Thanks for this video. It really helped me get through some walls I been hitting.
And, gotta add.. I love BOC! You guys rock!!!
Love your thorough reviews. It really save me a bunch of time having to go through the pdf manual. Real world testing with great results. 🤘
Thank you!!! Excellent explanation!
Thanks Richie! Best explanation Ive seen on The Pod Go! Ive probably watched 40 vids and Yours is by far THE BEST!! If you apply your great knowledge of sound To BOC! you guys must sound amazing live!! Cant wait to see you guys when Covid drys up! Till then Thank you so much on behalf of all of us Novices!!!
The biggest issue for me was the different ways to hook the Pod Go up, you covered it here , thank you! I really just want to use it for effects, I want the Marshall sound/tone, with a JVM this is perfect.
You are the line 6 master
Great as always. You're the go to person for questions on these products.
thanx a lot! Very Useful overview!
in making my pod go patches i've been putting the IR/cabs all the way at the end so that if i want to use it at a rehearsal with an amp or show up to a jam, I can use the amp out and go into an amp and use all my presets without having to move things around or turn things off.
Hi, John. I am still new into POD Go and I was thinking about the same method as you wrote. However, if the amp provided at the gig place is not a decent one and I want to use IR/cabs from POD Go, will the sound come out through the Amp Out still will be the same with the one come out from Line Out (in my case I send this to the FOH)?
Or, in this case I will need FRFR speaker as my monitor? Thank you!
@@jeremiafebrian3573 you would use the line out if you want to include the cab/IR and everything after it. The amp out signal skips over your cab/IR and anything after it in the signal.
Very nice overview, Richie! Pod Go more versatile, once you understand some of these options. Freeing up DSP is huge! Love your channel, bro! Keep rockin'!
What are the ways to free up DSP? I'm still kind of confused about the blocks which are automatically always present in all the chains..It's putting me off considering getting it. Is it as much of a pain as I am imagining?
I appreciate the killer video info I've been looking for that couldn't find anywhere else
Great video Richie! I’ve had my Pod Go since May and I’ve been loving it, but I had no idea about the amp monitoring ability with amp out/pre cab. Very clever way to have stage volume in addition to my in-ears.
Great, informative video, thanks mate!
Thank you really helped me with the use with the amp as a monitor
Great explanations of real world use of this unit. Thank you, I haven't yet to get one but this video really helped, especially section about using it in front of an amp. I have a DT 25 amp which I love, this Pod Go looks like the ideal complement to that amp. Thank you once again.
Nice video with a lot of details. I am thinking of buying the Pod Go so very helpful.

Thank you sooooo much. I had no Idea how to hook this thing up. cheers
Great video, wesomw explanations.🤘
Fantastic video!! I do wish you could have shown how to cable the Wet Dry Wet setup.
Thank you soooooo much for this video! Answered so many of my questions!
Very informative video! Answered a lot of question I've been having about setting this up with a combo amp.
I really like this effects! Tempted to sell my pedals 😅
Great video! Thanks for the demo.
Great video, thanks!!!!
Excellent job!!! Thanks very much!!! Just got my unit yesterday, that was very helpful!
Thank you! Answered all my questions.
Very informative video. Thanks.
Great video Richie. Please Can you make a video using the Pod Go and the TC Electronic Plethora X3 in the effect loop ? Thank you
Great job Richie....best video out on the Pod Go. Hope they are paying you the big bucks for this...haha! PS...thougt the video of you and your Dad was pretty cool. Mahalo...!!!
Very helpful and great instruction, thank you.
That was exactly me last weekend. Only a fender deluxe And I had to improvise. I wish I saw this vid first haha

Thanks for the amazing video.you are very good, and i learned alot seeing this💪👍
I hadn't thought of putting a stereo "many things" effect in the loop. Enter Zoom MS-100BT....
Always great videos
Richie, thanks man....I've got a beast of a rack system with the Helix Rack & control, G90 Wireless, Power conditioner, and a rack mount power amp in a road flight case. It's a sum' bitch to move around so I bought the Pod Go wireless...Wow. I have a beautiful Marshall and 4x12 cab but the portability is awesome in the Pod Go. Thank you for the upload and keep them videos coming....
PS: love your band geek videos
Great and informative video - many thanks and subscribed!!
Question though - Re: method #8, If you go Amp Out > Front of Amp, aren't you getting two amp sounds (the modelled amp from the Pod Go + the VHT/Fryette amp sound)? Whereas, if you were to do Amp Out > FX Return of the VHT, you're bypassing the preamp of the VHT and just hearing the modelled amp? I'm A/B'd these two routing methods, and to my ears, the Amp Out > FX Return sounds cleaner, but then the Master Volume on the Pod Go is also bypassed, which means you'll need to adjust all the amp master and channel volumes for EACH preset. If you were able to still use the Master Volume with this routing, it would make for more convenient practice/bedroom volume levels, and still have them at "gig volumes".
Does anyone follow what I'm trying to say? lol /endrant
same shit..I`m trying to find the answer on this question but i can`t find anything about it!:(
Yes, you're completely right, Nathan. I'm using the power amp input (which I believe is not available in your amp), and to me it sounds much better. Maybe that's the way of getting the most out of this Amp Out setting, 'cause the master knob on the amp still works. But of course still a great video, Mr Castellano! Thanks so much for your time. Definitely saved a lot of mine.
Indeed. The problem is that the Pod Go taps the "amp out" signal after the preamp block and before the cabinet/IR block, therefore sending an amp simulation into the actual amplifier. I don't quite see the logic of this, especially considering that a lot of amps do not have an FX loop. The signal should be split before the preamp block, or better there should be the option of placing the tap wherever along the chain.
Great video. Thanks
Nice demo video!
Great video Richie
Thanks for this vid I'm surprised the "amp as monitor" sounded so good given you had the preamp in the Pod Go and the amp both active. I would've assumed you go into the effects return/power amp section on your amp.
Same. Following this thread and comment.
A MIDI out on the Pod Go would have been quite handy, especially when paring with a Stomp.
Does it do MIDI out thought the USB port? Thought I saw something about that possibly?
Yes - I believe it can do MIDI commands using the USB Port. That's what I heard or read somewhere.

Guitar plugged into guitar in of the POD GO.
Patch cord from the L Mono of the POD GO to the instrument of the audio interface on PC.
That's how I had my Headrush plugged in before. I'm guessing it would work with any pedal effects boards?
Richie,
Since you are a monster on both bass and guitar, as well as really knowing your way around the Pod Go, how about a bass video with the Go?
Thanks for this!
Thank you for this great demo. Tell me though, I tried the method of simply going out the main output into the Return input in the back of my amp only and it sounded really good. Nothing on the amp works and the volume control in the Pod Go becomes your master volume. The modeled amps actually sounded really good and I had full operation of the placement of the effects and the effects loop as well. The only thing is that you can use the preamp, but don't use a speaker cabinet IR as it will muddy it up. My question: Is this actually ok and safe for the amp and the Pod Go? Thanks Richie. You have helped me a lot.
Same. Following this thread and comment.
When you go to your amp’s return you are completely bypassing the amp’s preamp controls. I’d you want to use your amp’s preamp, it has to be looped in to the pod to via the loop block. The loop block then has to be active or you won’t hear your amp’s preamp.
nice cool video
Great Job! This is by far the best POD GO video on the Internet, really helpful. May I ask just a quick question? I am using the POD GO as pedalboard (amp out to Marshall JCM900 head/4x12 cab) just to add some stuff in front of the amp (delay, boost -gain with exp pedal ON-, chorus, and distortion). Not sure which distortion suits better, can't seem to match the amp's lead channel sound, which distortion model would you recommend to get that cool 70s classic rock sound (BÖC style) with a Strat?
Do you ever use Preamps instead of Amps, using a solid state power amp and real cabinet? Or using the effects return on a tube amp into a real cabinet, again using preamps?
Not exactly sure what you kicked on at 14:40, but really awesome lead tone!! Damn
Thank you for your well done super informative videos Richie. And for your awesome playing. I was looking at using amp out so I could use my amp but I was expecting the signal could be tapped before both the amp and IR block. Because it’s tapped after the amp block won’t that result in the amp being pushed by the Pod Go amp? I know I can turn off the amp block but I want to use both the amp in the Pod Go (into my Headrush) and the unaffected signal into my amp. I have the Pod Go Wireless and was hoping to just have the guitar going into the Pod Go and then going to my amp via the amp out but it looks like I may need to use an amp selector to get what I had in mind.
BUT on 8) if you are connecting the POD GO to the front of the amp.. aren't you Re-Amp again ? the Pre Cab feature only bypasses the Pod's Cab but still sending over Amp sounds to your amp (monitor front) which also is amping the sound with its front panel.. Question.. Wouldn't be better ALL you did but instead of plugging in front of combo then plug on the back in the FX Return ???? looking forward for your thoughts!
Don't forget Pod Go capable of alternate switching. So under 4CM you can alternate between amps pre-amp or Pod Go's.
Greetings Richard Thanks for sharing your videos are truly awesome and have really opened up a new world of tone and sonic possibilities for me. Can you tell me if there is a way to play along with backing tracks through the helix floor and/or pod go thanks.
Hey this was put out on my birthday! If you going give this away, this would make a great present, Richie?
Hi Richie. Very good and helpful video, thanks. :) How would you say the "responsiveness" of the Pod is - used as just a pedalboard - compared to an amp and three-four pedals? Years ago, I tried different multi-boards, and they actually sounded just fine. But it was like there was a certain "lag" between my fingers and the sound from the speakers. For instance, it was much harder to get the guitar to go into feedback (the good kind) than with an amp-pedal setup. But that was perhaps 4-5 years ago. (2023 now) Would you say the multiboards/PodGo are past that now? Greetings from Denmark, EU.
AMAZING VIDEO MAN! How much bettter on cab and amp sim this unit is from old GT 100 Boss? Thanks!
👏👏👏👏👏
Can you utilize the 4 cable method(tube amps preamp) with an IR and send that to FOH while also sending the non IR signal to your cab on stage for monitoring?
Thanks for doing this vid Richie, You are a great Teacher! Quick question; can you still do the 4-wire to a Amp/Cab "And" add "The Stomp"as well?
Hi there. This or the Boss Gx100 in your opinion? Great video thanks.
That was very helpful thank you. Question, what is the Pod Go resting on?
When you use "Amp as a monitor" (Point 8), Do we need to disable the Amp block in the Pod Go?
What i need is to use my Amp for my stage sound, but at the same time use the full Pod Go for the FOH audience/PA speaker.
Is this possible and how to achieve it?
Is it possible to run a distortion pedal into only the FX return of the POD Go, instead of using both the Send and Return? I'm wanting to use a distortion pedal as a preamp unit, like if you'd run a Metal Zone into the Return of a traditional guitar amplifier.
Thanks!
Question...what about this scenario, which I don't think was presented here (but maybe it was and I'm just missing it)...
I have a Headrush FRFR that I want to use as a monitor and have the POD Go go to it as well as the house. Ok, that's easy enough. Now, what if I also want to use the on-stage 4x12 cab? So I want the sound coming out of the 4x12 cab behind me, plus hearing my FRFR in front of me, and then the audience also hears it coming through the house PA speakers. Thanks!
Hi Richie, very very useful thank you so much for your very detailed tutorials on Pod Go ! Quick question, how do you solve latency issues when sending the pod go signal to your recording interface and Daw ?
So where does the other end of the blue cable go? Do I need a separate audio interface? I just got this yesterday and haven't messed with it
Thanks for the video 👍. Let me ask, what if we connect Pod Go direct to monitors, and nothing else? Guitar, Pod Go, monitors fr. What will happen?
Thanks for the extensive explanation video. I'm thinking of getting this unit, but wondering, if I connect it through my audio interface that connects to a mac, would I be able to sync it to my DAW tempo (i.e. for tremolo, reverb effects, etc..)?
Great playing and video demonstration Richie! Demonstration#2 Pedal into the FX loop, I have the Andy Timmons JHS Pedal with the boost. Great distortion pedal! What are IR did you use? Or did you use the factory setting from Line 6?
Great insights. But for the n. 8 amp out for monitoring wouldn't be better to plug to the fx return of the amp instead of the front input?
Subbed 🔥
Great video! I think you sold me. What are you setting the Pod on in the video?
When using a (real) Amp as a monitor and using the Amp out of the Pod Go and going to the Main input of the amp (instead of the fx return of the amp) Does that bypass the (real) amp's preamp? Bec I noticed that when you tried going in front of your amp, the preamp of the pod go is still on. I used to do Amp Out then plug to the FX return of the amp to bypass the preamp and leave the preamp of pod go on. Any thoughts?
