The fact that 50 dollars is seen as expensive in the VR community is why VR is and always will be niche. Fanboys argue price as a way to downplay one platform vs another and end up downplaying the entire medium making it less and less viable for developers to make games for VR in general.

The expensiveness of VR will make it even more of a niche. Vr setup is already an expensive thing to get on top of that expensive game with medicore quality. This is not a platform seller.@@corey_massey
There's two ways to view this: (neither is right or wrong, and you can be in-between) as a consumer, where value is dictated solely by quality, gameplay , content - so only AAA can demand AAA price. (you could also view as price / game-play hours... and then it depends on how much of an RPG fan you are etc) as a vr enthusiast, you recognise the market is niche. so price per 'dev hour' for is going to be higher. the price of GT7/RE4 is not representative, as these hybrid games basically have had their content paid for by flat screen sales, so even if they were not subsidised by Sony (they are), you only pay for the vr extra work - not the whole game. but titles like LT which are deep, and taken alot of dev and are vr only are going to be expensive. so, unless/until studios start doing more hybrid game - we need to support these devs, or they won't simply won't make games this deep. price - I really like LT, and I think its worth within the vr pricing world ( in flat game world it would not) overhyped - yes, a bit... as we dont have anything similar (except NMS), so some have overlooked, its not really that deep, quite repetitive, graphics are ok, and there are many 'odd' gameplay decisions however, I love it, and im glad to have bought it.
I was very leery of spending $55 for Legendary Tales. Now after about 15 hours of playing I am finding this very worth every penny. This game is going to keep me going for a long time. I haven't even tried any multiplayer yet as I want to actually know what I am doing when I get there. Yes, I am 15 hours in and barely know what I am doing with so many things because there are just so many aspects to this game. I have only crafted one weapon, I just figured out how to cook food. I have hardly touched the skill tree or done much with magic yet. So much to learn...
Been playing it every single day since release, about 35 hours already. I think I'm not too far from the end but already can see myself playing it a few hundreds hours in NG+ and with different characters. Ain't been that obsessed with a gane since Demon's Souls (the original) and Subnautica. Would be worth twice the price for me! But definitely not for all players, it becomes really hard after a few dungeons.
@@JayBravo612 yes, if you know what you are signing for it's worth every penny. Those disappointed are mostly people who expected something like Skyrim or who don't like Souls-like in the first place. It's not AAA but for those who wanted a Souls-like in VR it's from far the closest experience you can find. It has this satisfying and challenging gameplay that Grimlord and others don't have.
I am the opposite, I am level 28 and still back on the level 16 Dungeon, near the boss (somewhere?) Spent the 1st 2 days messing around, killing stuff, looting, having fun, now I'm trying to complete the quests.@@theabsolutelord1181
@@theabsolutelord1181 Ahah! Maybe because you played in multiplayer and went really far without levelling up much. I was probably lv37 when I reached the lv35 dungeons 😅
I bought this knowing I don't like rpg type games at all. Like not a single bit. I hate the grind and charakter development. But vr takes it to the next level. I honestly believe that this is one of my favorite and most top tear games I own. And I bought almost all games for psvr1 and at least 25 for the psvr2 at this point. I love it!! Worth every penny!
I'd say for what it is compared to what else we have it's definitely worth the price I'd happily pay $60 for Skyrim VR cause I never had a psvr but since there probably won't ever be a port for psvr2 I find this is the next best thing available as of now
FWIW, combat in LT is far superior to Skyrim. Skyrim is still damn fun though, total waggle fest but fun as hell. Hope you get to play it someday. PSVR is still worth owning if you manage to find one with 2 move controllers for a good price.
I'm yet to see anyone say anything negative about Legendary Tales who has played it - including on the price tag. It's a massive feather in the cap of PSVR2
Playing seated would be difficult tbh. It's a physically active game. I couldn't imagine trying to play this seated and I LOVE to play seated.@@eddieholt8222
I love this type of games, so I’m biased. Yet I can’t understand how wanting immersive VR games coexist with unwillingness to pay for them. Like if it’s a hybrid everyone wants free upgrade to VR. When once in a while game with great mechanics and VRAF immersion appears the only talk is about the price. And that with the sales few months after game release. I didn’t bought Arizona Sunshine 2 at release, as I got tired of shooting zombies, and considered it expensive for a game I’m not into. Yet the only thought was - ok, I’ll wait for the sale and buy it then, if I feel like it. So yeah, I think Legendary Tales worth the price, and I don’t get the drama around it.
The one VR game that was a total hood wink to me was Journey to Foundation, and that was $40 i think? Im not saying that game is outright trash but I've already exceeded gametime with LT and will probably put 100+ hours into it this year. It'll also be a game I go back to years from now. It has all the makings of a classic that will stand the test of time.
This game has the most satisfying sword combat I have ever played in a vr game I like it a lot. But I agree the price is too high. But I hope it sells well enough so that the developers can add more content, this game definitely has huge potential with that combat system.
Well said. Someone mentioned a demo, I think that would have been brilliant. I want to play this and will eventually buy it, I think I will still wait for a sale but thanks for the videos, you’ve made some great points. Cheers
Sony, just give every single PSVR2 game a mandatory 1 hour trial period, and sort your refund policy out 😡 These two things would take the risk of of the whole thing, this is real basic stuff tbh
Good points. I am enjoying the game. I think it would have sold better and had less problems at a lower price point. That being said I have got the value, I'm not sure it's for everyone. As you correctly stated things are different in the headset!
This was on sale for 40 bucks. I picked up and played for about 2 hours without knowing what I was doing. I spent most of that time getting stuck and trying to figure out how to use the equipment at the campsite. At this point, I was upset I spent money on the game. I watched a few videos on the game for a half hour, and this time, I started to get the hang of everything, and I couldn't stop playing.
Tbh, I be dropping $80+ to get uber eats for my girl and i, and the food comes cold and barely lasts 20 mins into the movie we're watching. The pricing is just a bit under AAA, yes, although there are still a lot of games priced higher. I think tho, it kinda makes sense to want to price fairly. You'd have less people complaining if they dropped the price, but i dunno, I get it. The game took years. The team is tiny and ran out of resources multiple times. And they truly made a gem of a game. But who knows. I have already gotten my moneys worth, so im bias.
$80 plus on UberEats? Damn, I don’t get UberEats anymore but when I did, my bill was like £18 for just me or more if for someone else. I’ll deff pass this game for now. I’ve been burned and wasted too much money on games I’m unsure about. Really wish all devs give a short demo. Even 30mins is often enough to know if you like the game . If devs was that confident in product, they would give a demo but I guess they are not that confident and know that a certain number of people that try demo, will not buy it and if there wasn’t a demo, said person may just take a chance. I’m literally going to call Sony and ask if it’s even possible to refund Psvr2 games that are either bad or give incredible moron sickness. I’ve searched online and it seems that many are able to get refund from Sony.
@@grahamkelly8662 The developer has said they just don't have the resources to produce a demo. Not surprising to me as demos actually require quite a bit of work to put together. However PS5 has the option for game trials which would probably be easier for the developer, but they might be limited to PS+ Premium members. A problem with both of these options though, is that I've heard this game is sort of a slow-burn. It takes a while to get used to the combat and how everything works, so either they'd need to make a really long demo that could cut too deeply into the content of the game, or they'd make a short demo that would put off most people.
It can be fun but there are obvious flaws from the older builds that still hasn't been fixed. For starter one handed weapons can feel rubberband on the wrist ingame. Especially the Arming sword, it has the same heft as a 2h weapon and it only swings normally if gripped two handed... 2h grips have an issue where swings ends up rotating at high speeds, might be a controller issue but even a simple downward slice with a 2h sword results in the blade rotating to the blunt edge. The Halberd's weapon model is reversed, so the pointy end does slash, the axe head does pierce. It looks like they used stock animation that doesn't fix the model size, like the goblin for their swings and movement looks weird, especially when their arm clips in their body trying to swing their small swords like a 2h weapon. The animation of the corrupt peasants are a little off for the 2nd variant, the crazed one. You can only get Honor points from quests, nothing else. There's a arrow bug where putting your hand behind your back to draw arrows, you can rapidly click the grip and spawn like 30 arrows in one hand.
As someone who thought this game was gunna be a £20 throwaway game, this game was 100% worth the £45.99 price tag. People can break a game down to all its features, graphics etc etc. but to me the question is “is it bloody fun”? Is it going to be fun to play? Is It going to be fun to upgrade? Does it have enough content for the price? For me all three of these questions can be answered with “yes”. I think that every single one of these people that are on the edge would 100% be persuaded with a demo of the first area of the game or even maybe a wave arena where you can test if the combat is for you (which I mean how would it not be?).
I look at PlayStation Store listing for the game and 85% of the user reviews are 5-star, 8% 4-star, 2% 3-star & 2-star and finally 3% 1-star. I don't think price is problem for the people that bought it and are enjoying it. I don't know what would compel someone to give 1-2 star rating to game of this quality unless they encountered a bug that ruined their experience.
Although I haven’t played enough of LT yet to have a real opinion about the game overall… I do take issue with people describing US $55 as “AAA” price. AAA prices are closer to US $70 these days. This game will not be for everyone, no game is, and it’ll be too expensive for some players to comfortably afford (and so they should wait for a sale), but it’s a full, finished, and working game that is absolutely adored by many people so I think the price makes sense.
I could see people not liking this game if they were expecting something like Skyrim but got something like dark souls instead. Aside from that, I don't see any reason to hate on this game. It's so much fun.
Yes the cost is a bit much for an ‘Indy’ that I’ve been battling with myself about since it launched and VR doesn’t always translate well on a flat screen, but in the end if its mechanics are implemented well and fun; I believe the cost is justified. Since LT has so many options for character builds (to which the surface has only been scratched so far) that adds more to that justification and if it does well with sales, the jank & polish can be patched afterwards, but it has to do well for that to happen, so I hope to see a good future for this title, cause more weapons, skills, skins, enemies and areas all can be added. We just need to support it sooner than later or none of that can happen.
it would be a lot better if it had a play seated option...or a hight adjustment slider..its too difficult to play seated as it is at launch..I've missed several parries, cant see into tombs for pick ups, my bow constantly clips and gets stuck in the environment..because I play all games seated..you can technically play it seated but it honestly sucks and gives you a huge disadvantage throughout unfortunately..I put in 3hrs, and until it gets an update for sitting while playing I'm done w it.
$80cad?! Not a f*cking chance. Heck, I bought HL Alyx for like $25cad like 2 months ago and that game eats this alive - not to mention all the free mods you can get as well.
Eats it alive? Alyx is an on rails shooter without much replay value. It doesn’t have multiplayer. It doesn’t have deep character progression. They are completely different styles of games. I bought 2 copies of this for my wife and I to play together and it’s the most fun in VR I’ve had in 7 years. It doesn’t need mods to still have potentially 100s of hours of gameplay.
Wingman, Foglands, both IMO stole $$$, so after losing $ for those horrible games, I am happy to have spent $80 Canadian for LT with no regrets!, lovin it, and hope the minor bugs get fixed! If not still a great game!
I loved Foglands but I hear you. That launch was brutal for everyone. They said they're dropping a new patch soon, addresses enemy AI and other things. Still might be able to find some enjoyment in it.
I can see me get many hours out of this and loads of replay, there is also 3 difficulties to unlock, plus all the builds you can do. Currently I don't see how anyone could finish in permadeath however! So well over 400 hours I can see me enjoying. Take my Money! RRP £59.99 - If you don't want a deep RPG in VR with Multiplayer - avoid. Oh and I've finished games more expensive in 4 hours that I won't go back to. I'm getting my value, other people may differ.
They just added it to PS+ premium game trials so I’ve had my 2 hours in the game and I can say hands down, for the coop side I can see this being absolutely worth the money for fun with buddies. As a solo game I think there are more fun adventures out there but it depends how much the genre matters to the individual. So I think it’s worth the price but simply because of the cost of living at the moment and where I’m at in my life (father of 2) I still can’t justify it sadly. However, next time it’s on a sale I will absolutely be getting it. In part to show whatever support I can to developers making amazing games like this and in another part just hoping at some point I find a regular enough pocket of time to enjoy it. I know I’m 3 months late to this particular video but after playing it I went hunting for content on it and I believe this video makes some points that align with my own thoughts very well, fantastic work Jammy keep it up 🙌
Played about 20hours last weekend, cant wait for the next weekend. Its my favorite psvr2 game rn. With demo im on the same side, but the devs stated that working on a demo seperately is more cost intensive for them and they already were not in a good spot, i hope the 1.0 sales change that for them so they can continue developing games
I love Legendary Tales and since I bought it when it was early release, I didn’t pay the full price. That said, I would pay the full price. It’s a blast, especially co-op!!
I will wait for a sale. Not because i think it's overpriced (i bought Diablo 4 full for gods sake :d). But becouse i would need to buy this two times, one for my brother on PSVR2, one for me on PCVR. Want to do a kinda lan party, with two headsets at same house ;) Will be kinda cool i guess. Vr needs more co op dungeon crawlers, deep, dark.
I think if your priority is VR then the price is fine as its probably an anticipated title. When there are so many triple A flat games releasing all the time it becomes more of a competiition for where to spend your money. When its £44. It probably means you can only afford the one game but with most of the VR games launching at a lower price you may be inclined to pick them up as a side game.
One of the very few things this game is missing is Character personalization :-) Please, please Urban Wulf Team, At least have us change colors and size of the main body elements, Hair color, Skin Color, skinny, large a few things to make the Character in Multiplay look less cloned 🙂
After watching a few reviews it seems the only thing stopping people is the price, and compared to a game like cyube or swordsman, this seems very well worth the money. Ill be grabbing this
I like the look of the game, and i would like to get it. I do personally feel that a £30~ price tag would entice me more as i do feel £45 is bit much to sink for a game that i currently can't try first. So yeah, as you and many have said... there needs to be more demos. That would help.
Jammy have you unlocked the “Counter Bash” skill from the strength skill tree? I unlocked it but I couldn’t use it I don’t know if it’s bugged or I’m not doing it right
I definitely think there should be a demo or timed trial, especially on PSVR 2 considering Sony's complete lack of a refund policy. I haven't played the game, but I don't think the price is egregious based on the content on offer. Most of what I've heard indicates it'll take 30-40 hours to beat the campaign once, and there's significant replay value through different character builds, New Game +, co-op, and permadeath. Of course all that is meaningless if the game doesn't click for you, but it seems to be well made and play well, considering it was a team of only 5 people. $55 USD seems worthwhile for the content on offer. It's also important to remember that PC VR and PSVR 2 are niche audiences within a niche segment of gaming (VR). If we want developers to create games specifically for these platforms, we might have to pay a higher price for them. That could be the only way the developer could reasonably make a profit off of the relatively small install base compared to the Quest 2. We shouldn't just blindly pay that much for any game; but we should be willing to buy a game at around that price when it fits our personal tastes, is well reviewed (as LT has been from what I've seen), and offers some sort of value for the investment (for some games that could be high production values, for this it's scope of content and replay value).
I've seen people call it boring. BORING ffs. I think this is the kind of game that is going to resonate with the more 'imaginative' among us, more than those that prefer a story/experience 'hand delivered' to them. There was some post on Reddit from somebody talking about how they were bored with the game after 15 hours or something, and I was flabbergasted by some of the stuff in there, and the amount of replies that agreed. Bored? I thought. I'm 11 hours in myself, and have not felt even a fraction of tedium. I've been roleplaying my arse off like I haven't since about 1990 when I was 12, playing Pen and Paper D&D. I've been a shitty wizard shouting 'Sparkly Warkly' as I wave my wand. I've been raining lightning down like Thor. I've been yelling "UNLIMITED POWEEEEER" and cackling like a Sith lord. I've been waving my arms around and blasting lightning from my fingertips like Raiden, or that geezer from Big Trouble in Little China. And I am PRAYING that I can somehow imbue a spear with Lightning so I can start chucking that about like Dragonslayer Ornstein. And that's just the FIRST TWO SPELLS of lightning build. 😂 Wait until I get into my 4 decades worth of my cultural icons in the Sword and Shield and Martial Arts fields. Fucking best game ever. Childhood dreams: Completed it, mate.
Me too. I don't even notice the lack of voice acting cause I'm using my imagination, lol. Might be a generational thing. LT is just pure fun for me. I scratch my head at people saying it's a bad game. I can understand if someone doesn't enjoy it but saying it's a bad game? Come on. There's plenty of things I don't like but I can recognize them as being quality all the same. This idea that if something doesn't click for you, it's automatically bad, it's just such a shame to me. Poisoning the well really, games like LT should be celebrated and supported. Imagine what the studio could do with a proper budget and resources.
Legendary Tales is really good, I'm loving it, despite its flaws. It's a high price indeed, I hope devs just update the game with a little bit more content latter on.
I was thinking about getting this over the weekend but I'll pass for now, too many mixed reviews about it but they all the same thing in common (variety and repetitiveness) totally put off and I'll probably get it on discount price. Same with Arizona sunshine 2, so much hype, so overpriced, so many you tubers saying it's "insanely good) it turns out quite the opposite, hardly so many different zombies, small amount of items to carry around and a 6hrs campaign for £40+ nahhhh not today amigos
Don’t listen to other people most of it is lies. Follow your instincts. It’s difficult times and I too am gonna wait for a sale. No need to skint yourself over a game.
you know, I'm quite hesitant without a demo, but I didn't look back at persona 3 reload full price, without any review whatsoever. The name alone it's a must buy and don't regret it 25hrs in already. Like I said too many "reviews" just like too many chefs spoils the soup 🤷
This game rules. I don’t mind paying the price for the game, and understand the developer’s philosophy with regard to pricing but I think if VR becomes a pocket of gaming where you have to pay a higher premium for indie and smaller, less polished experiences than you would elsewhere it might backfire on the platforms and make them less attractive devices to purchase.
Honestly the pricing of 54.99 is so weird it makes me not want to buy it haha. Tbh it doesn’t look interesting anyways. Just another blades and sorcery
The 45 fps social screen for the PSVR2 version does a poor job of selling how smooth it is for potential buyers watching streams. So unfortunate, as the game is brilliant fun.
This was a lot cheaper on pc in early access, and I have to.say I was looking forward to this on the psvr2 because if it is optimized correctly games can run far better than the pc counterpart, now that is just braised on my current pc setup which is an i5 9400f with a 3060 with 32 gb of ddr4 ram running at 2400mhz. So not the worst setup but also it can struggle. The difference say playing no mans sky in vr on my pc compared to the psvr2 is night and day performance wise. So.from someone who has played the pc version I am going to.wait.for.a sale and maybe get some cd key vouchers to bring the price down a little.
How can they compare this game with Skyrim VR 😂😂 when Skyrim Vr wasn't even worth 50 Dollars and it has spiders dragons companions replayability while this game has nothing its just fun for a couple of minutes because its vr but its still a soulless game lol
I've heard a lot of good things about this game, but each to thier own that's what I say. Personally I'll wait for the price to come down a little bit, I've already spent hundreds on games I need to watch the pennies.
If you have Index controllers, you can't rly hold a weapon properly, because sometimes you might grip the controller a little too hard, which would toggle your holding of the weapon, and you just drop the weapon. And there's no seated mode. It's hard to play the game because of those, and it's way too expensive. I wouldn't recommend it.
This game is WAY too expensive for a game this buggy, just bought it and can’t even use the teleport spell because my left hand can’t cast spells. 1 star 😔
The game looks great, but I think I'll wait for a sale. Its $90 CDN. I'll wait until its 50% off. Zenith just went F2P, this game will go on sale after a few months and then after 2 years, probably F2P as well.
I can tell you haven't played dungeons of eternity or blades and sorcery on quest 3. If you had, you would understand the disgruntledness of the price of this game. both those games are better and cost a 3rd of the price. Assassin's nexus is amazing, looks great, half the price of this game. I loved the psvr 2 until I got a quest 3 this Christmas. Still love gta7 and resi evil in psvr but I would not pay the price for this game. I game share with my mate and he bought it so I tried it for a few hours. it's an OK game but not for the price. the other 2 games I've mentioned are way better. Also loads of demos on quest and Sony an monopolise vr in the console space, hence the high price. you shoul check the meta store and compare prices of the same games. I check both stores before I buy now and 100% of the time the same games are cheaper on meta. Thus is what happens when you monopolise. God help us of xbox goes down, as your ps6 will cost you £600 😢
I bought it because parole reviewed it so highly. I was disappointed and on PlayStation, I can't get my money back. I'm trying to get into it, but it's pretty meh. Maybe worth 35 dollars if you're into this type of game. $15 if you're not, but still wanna mess around and try it.
I was disappointed to see a 'reviewer' remark about how they didnt get a review code, and then they subsequently talk about how the game looks 'meh' to them. 🤔 OK, are you a 'reviewer' solely because you cant afford to buy games? I cant help but get that vibe with certain sections of the VR community. Obviously the aforementioned isnt directed at you Jammy.
I wasn’t aware this game was getting hate but it doesn’t surprise me. The game looks incredibly boring. Maybe combat gets better and there are some incredible enemy later in game but most won’t pay £45 for something so lacking. If it simply had incredible combat, more people would be willing to pay the high price. This is a deep sale for me.
Personally, I can absolutely forgive average or even bad graphics, if gameplay is good. A basic looking game that has fantastic gameplay, is way better then a beautiful looking game, with bad gameplay and this game seems like it has bad gameplay and bad graphics.
People have been dropping $50+ for mid games for years. Not sure why it being a VR game makes people lose their minds. Either pay the price or stfu and wait for a sale. That simple
1: the graphics are PS2 level thats my biggest minus. 2: no map....you just wander around tl you find stuff 3: its rogue like or demon souls like i heard...so nope. i know its been developed by a small team but IMO i am not bothered with the price, it just looks BAD.
Hey I have a question about how the PSVR2 and the HD camera for the ps5 interact with each other. So I want to play warthunder on my ps5, but warthunder does not support psvr2. It does however allow head tracking with the HD camera. Do you know if the HD camera can still perform head tracking if the VR headset is being worn?
Legendary Tales is a sidequest game rejected by Meta then launched on PC and PSVR2. Not AAA quality at all but has a AAA asking price. If you enjoy it fair enough but I'm interested in high quality VR experiences and they have been almost non existent.
Played it for around 18, imo its kida overhyped. It wasnt bad by any means byt its not great either. the biggest flaws for me are the recycled monsters and copy pasted environments.
You do realize that Skyrim was made by an established triple-A development studio using a team of 100 people with a roughly $100 million budget, while this was made by 5 indie developers, yeah? There's no way they'll be close in terms of content. Open world games are expensive to make and take a long time. That said, apparently the actual gameplay mechanics of this are better than Skyrim VR. But it was made by 5 people. You might not think it's worth the price point, but there have been plenty of VR games launch for $40 with far less than half the gameplay length of Legendary Tales.
Yes it is, unfortunately, not enough support from the mass to grow bigger, also due to Sony's questionable marketing, even todays ad has Arashi which is not even a well reviewed game in it (probably prior marketing deals), instead of games like Synapse, Vertigo 2, Red Matter 2 and many more..
the game is fun, but the developers were SUPER lazy in the game design. the game gets "stale" very quickly because the enemies are all virtually the same with minor differences in skins. it just got old really fast fighting against virtually the same kind of enemy over and over and over again. the levels are the same thing, they are just kind of the same.... I love the depth of the RPG aspect of the character building in game, but it does not make a difference since the game gets boring way too fast. dude, I went back to ancient dungeon without hesitation because that one is STILL super fun to play even after putting in over 40 hours into it. this game was released as a unfinished game.... the developers just got lazy and pushed out a unfinished product on us while charging us full price. not cool.
Not sure "lazy" is the right word. This is a huge game made by only 5 people. They ran out of money, so they had to release as is.. what is already there is amazing imo, hopefully the community will support and they can continue to iterate. In an ideal world we would get a fully formed game every time, but in VR we are reliant on very small teams who make passion projects, triple A studios aren't touching VR with a barge pole, so there are economics to consider.
@@shenmeowzothat is so true. Lazy is something different. Lazy is what they technically made with Bulletstorm VR game. You pay 30 for something like Vertigo 2. which is an awesome game and has a campaign around 10 hours. So why you can t charge 55 for 40 hours plus
@@Dennis-gj8vf I paid 25 bucks for fracked and loved every minute of the 3 hour campaign lol.. by that comparisons, legendary tales which people are getting up to 100 hours out of, is a bargain.
More VR games need demos. Especially with a price tag like that.
The fact that 50 dollars is seen as expensive in the VR community is why VR is and always will be niche. Fanboys argue price as a way to downplay one platform vs another and end up downplaying the entire medium making it less and less viable for developers to make games for VR in general.

Damn bro said it twice
Jep thinking about buying it but don't know if it is a game for me
Why would people hate this game? It's like the best game that's come out on PS VR2 so far
There's two ways to view this: (neither is right or wrong, and you can be in-between)
as a consumer, where value is dictated solely by quality, gameplay , content - so only AAA can demand AAA price.
(you could also view as price / game-play hours... and then it depends on how much of an RPG fan you are etc)
as a vr enthusiast, you recognise the market is niche. so price per 'dev hour' for is going to be higher.
the price of GT7/RE4 is not representative, as these hybrid games basically have had their content paid for by flat screen sales, so even if they were not subsidised by Sony (they are), you only pay for the vr extra work - not the whole game.
but titles like LT which are deep, and taken alot of dev and are vr only are going to be expensive.
so, unless/until studios start doing more hybrid game - we need to support these devs, or they won't simply won't make games this deep.
price - I really like LT, and I think its worth within the vr pricing world ( in flat game world it would not)
overhyped - yes, a bit... as we dont have anything similar (except NMS), so some have overlooked, its not really that deep, quite repetitive, graphics are ok, and there are many 'odd' gameplay decisions
however, I love it, and im glad to have bought it.
This! I LOVE this game. $55 is well worth the price of entry for what is offered.
It really does get crazy after a few dungeons lmao. I’m only level 21 fighting through the level 35 arenas feel like I missed something lol
I bought this game exactly like you I hated games like this but I actually really enjoy playing this game
Hell yes! So much fun!
I would love to play it and would pay $50 for it, but I need a seated mode.

My friend and I play this together almost every night--It is a absolute blast!!!
Can I play w yall?
The one VR game that was a total hood wink to me was Journey to Foundation, and that was $40 i think? Im not saying that game is outright trash but I've already exceeded gametime with LT and will probably put 100+ hours into it this year. It'll also be a game I go back to years from now. It has all the makings of a classic that will stand the test of time.
Definitely needs a demo to help people make an informed decision on justifying the price.
People can hate all they want. Doesnt stop me, you, thicc, ninja and electrical having all the fun on this 😂🎉🎉
This game has the most satisfying sword combat I have ever played in a vr game I like it a lot.
Cheers
We talked to the lead Dev about having a 1 hour trial
Sony, just give every single PSVR2 game a mandatory 1 hour trial period, and sort your refund policy out 😡
These two things would take the risk of of the whole thing, this is real basic stuff tbh
Needs a demo
Honestly I think the game is worth it, because I can't stop playing no matter how much my head hurt from being in the headset to long
It can be fun but there are obvious flaws from the older builds that still hasn't been fixed.
I’m sure I will be in this game for over 100 hours once I have the money so yes well worth the money. Going off the gameplay and reviews
For me personally, this game is incredible and its one of the best vr games ive ever played.
This Game is Awesome!
it would be a lot better if it had a play seated option...or a hight adjustment slider..its too difficult to play seated as it is at launch..I've missed several parries, cant see into tombs for pick ups, my bow constantly clips and gets stuck in the environment..because I play all games seated..you can technically play it seated but it honestly sucks and gives you a huge disadvantage throughout unfortunately..I put in 3hrs, and until it gets an update for sitting while playing I'm done w it.
I know I’m 3 months late to this particular video but after playing it I went hunting for content on it and I believe this video makes some points that align with my own thoughts very well, fantastic work Jammy keep it up 🙌
Umm....Among the actual PSVR2 community, this game is exaggeratingly praised right now.
Vr needs more co op dungeon crawlers, deep, dark.
it is a little over prize but truly worth it and when playing with friends its and leveling up together is the best part
At the end of the day we want quality games we can sink hours 🎉 into and this is it
I think if your priority is VR then the price is fine as its probably an anticipated title.
This game worth its price. It has very, very good optimization, so you can run it At Hi settings at 90 FPS, and it's made in Unreal Engine 5.
I wish it was £30-35
I've seen people call it boring.
Wait until I get into my 4 decades worth of my cultural icons in the Sword and Shield and Martial Arts fields.
So you have spells and magic and stuff in this game? If so, Is it minimal or lots of spells, abilities etc?
It's not a lot of money for a full fledged game. This is a full fledged game.
It's an excellent souls RPG with no story, but it's more designed as a CO-OP looter and speed run, that's all ya need to know.
I played and enjoyed the trial of it, but I wouldnt pay the full price for it. If it goes on sale I might pick it up
Honestly the pricing of 54.99 is so weird it makes me not want to buy it haha. Tbh it doesn’t look interesting anyways. Just another blades and sorcery
The 45 fps social screen for the PSVR2 version does a poor job of selling how smooth it is for potential buyers watching streams. So unfortunate, as the game is brilliant fun.
Top 5 psvr2 game.
I’d love to buy this one.
You can adjust grip strength for the index in the steamvr
This game is WAY too expensive for a game this buggy, just bought it and can’t even use the teleport spell because my left hand can’t cast spells. 1 star 😔
For me it was actually the high price of not buying the game.
I love this game good gameplay lots of stuff to do and lots of hours of gameplay and all the really cool weapons to collect
The game looks great, but I think I'll wait for a sale. Its $90 CDN.
I'll wait until its 50% off. Zenith just went F2P, this game will go on sale after a few months and then after 2 years, probably F2P as well.
I own both psvr 2 and Quest 3 and quest gets it right as you can return the game if you don't like it after playing it for 2 hours get a full refund.
Sony should do the same. That’s great customer service
Not a perfect game. However, for what it does, it's excellent. The fun factor is awesome. It's not a rpg. It's a dungeon crawler.
God help us of xbox goes down, as your ps6 will cost you £600 😢
I don’t see much hate and it is imo one of the very best VR game.
R4 and Village skewed it by being to cheap, why Sony didnt charge £20 for VR mode as DLC i dont know. Who wouldnt have paid that 🤔
People have been dropping $50+ for mid games for years.
Just test it out, it could probably work if you're lucky, but you would still play in cinema mode on the psvr and not in actual VR
£20/£25 MAX
For a game that’s almost $60 it should be similar to Skyrim and be an open world game
@@shenmeowzo I loved fracked too😊! But that’s what I mean . Sometime you can t compare things. Special in VR because it is a a small niche
I agree. This game is terrible.
The closer to a AAA prices
The higher the standard
Just saying
Many PSVR2 games are overrated sadly
First
what? everyone loves this game...
