- The Light Brigade is a Roguelike PSVR2 title that sets itself in a ww1-2 style setting with rifles and pistols, asking the player to play through the same environments until they defeat each boss.
Agree. Light Brigade is a sleeper hit. Now that I have had the headset a while I keep going back to LB. It and Pistol Whip don't get much attention as cross platform titles, but I think the haptics and the set quality make the PSVR2 versions so darn good. I will say LB had a bit of an issue out of the gate, but the patch about a week in really cleaned up some visuals. If anyone tried it day one, and was a bit disappointed, it is worth looking at again.
Lol it was crazy I put it down for like a week and when I fired it back up I was shocked...The textures are better, the fog isn't as prevalent and I'm not encountering as many bugs...they really didn't have to but you can tell they respect the people that paid money for their game
Such an underrated gem. It will get the attention it deserves eventually. Glad it’s getting more coverage by VR creators on YT.
It had some issues at launch, but the devs have already addressed most of them and the game is much better now.
Absolutely love the Light Brigade I've beaten it with the assault class and now i am working on the other classes. The game has so much replay value.
As someone new to VR gaming, this game is hard as nails.

I've put in more hours (over 45) than any other games since launch. I've gotten every class past lvl 30. Can't wait for them to add more content.

The AI are vicious. They are always going for head shots too. The effects that happen when you get hot feel awful in a good way. You wince and flinch and stumble to cover when you get hit. It triggers the flight instincts. And when a shot just barely misses you amd makes that fwip sound, terrifying!
I've been playing it since day 1 and this game is fun, hard and the most re-playability out there
idk if you have seen the trailer for foglands but that looks very similar and it looks like its going to be amazing

This has quickly become my all-time favorite VR game.. second to Beat Saber of course 😂
But seriously, like I love BONEWORKS (/BONELABS) and TWD:S&S for their premium VR gameplay, but I think The Light Brigade has the most actual replayability for me. I love stabbing walkers in the dome with knifes in Saints and SInners, and I love pretending to be John Wick in the Voidway... and while theres SOME sense of progression in S&S, I think TLB is the first VR game I've played that REALLY feels like the kind of game I would have grinded on, in a pancake game.
I'm really not even a roguelite/roguelike fan, but funny enough, I also severely enjoyed The Persistance on the OG PSVR. I think it's the enjoyment I get from playing a game that I feel I have "exploited" in a type of way. For example: in The Persistance, I figured out you could literally teleport behind an enemy and (if you were fast enough) you could wip your IRL head backwards and get a sort of backstab that does hella damage (an advantage that I feel would have been removed- if ever it was accidentally viable in the first place, in a pancake game).
On top of that, VR developers don't expect the majority of their audience to be athletic and.. maybe "super-capable" in the given medium. So they make their games in such a way that say.. overweight, or less than physically.. acclimated(?) people can have a chance, and enjoy the full extent of the experience. Again, giving me that feeling that I have some type of substantial advantage, which is a very rewarding feeling to invest in.
Dammit, I keep finding more PSVR2 games to try. I already have a backlog! Btw, what's that background lo-fi piano track you have throughout the review?

Scout fricking stinks
that’s what I thought when I watched the trailer too! It’s a tough one for sure, but so rewarding.
Scout is dope if you get some cards that have on-hit effects like poison or corruption...shreds through enemies

@@notimeforcreativenamesjust3034 oh, no. I’m playing on Ps5. My psvr2 is faulty, right now and I’ve not played light brigade, for some time. Hopefully, I can get replacement psvr2 and hopefully light brigade, will have had a patch or something.
