  • 15 days after the unboxing, this Energizer Bunny of a smartwatch just keeps going, and going, and going.‪@GarminInt‬ did not lie regarding the Enduro 3 battery life specifications. What do I like about this timepiece? I feel the video explains it well.
This is a fun update and a bit of a spoiler, sorry. Several hours after making this video, yes, the battery was still at 4%, and I went for a nice 1/2-mile walk along the Provo River Trail. I finished my walk and then... after that 11:01 walk, 1,185 lovely steps. Yes, I checked my recovery heart rate. And walked back to my office. Many minutes later I remembered to check the battery life and the time had passed by too quickly. Right around 10:45 Mountime Time, oh no, the screen had turned back. I felt this coldness inside as if all the happiness in the world had vanished. Was this the kiss of death that J.K. Rowling described in her Harry Potter books back in 1997? Alright, I was able to calm myself down, I sat down since I was working away using my standing desk. After holding down the power button for a few seconds, dang it! The low-battery warming screen of death. As you already know, yes, fortune favors the brave, and the prepared. For the last 15 days I carried my USB-C to 3-head charger, OEM cable, that ‪@GarminInt‬ included inside the expensive $899.00 box. Good thing too, for I would have missed a good 7,000 more steps before returning to my Home Base seven hours later - yikes, I know, wicked scary!
Plugged the Garmin cable into my laptop's USB-C port, and then connected the other end to the back of the, now dead, Enduro 3. About three minutes later it came to life and display a beautiful numeric life of 3% battery.
    11:12, 3%
    11:31, 50%
    53 - 12 = 42 and 50/42 = 1.9
Ergo, the Enduro 3 charges via USB-C circa 1.2% per minute indoors when the room temperature remains between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
12:05, 59% battery life reached, and then seconds later, oh yeah, 60%. I truly wanted, and should have waited another 15 minutes allowing the battery to reach a nice 70 or 77%. And yet, my coworker was really needy that time of day for a walking break. Ever since he and I quit smoking, yes, we crave the sounds of the Provo River yelling our inner souls...
13:04, 60% battery still, and that was after the 0.52-mile walk, another 1,185 steps (1,195 steps on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra), heart-rate tracking, checking the time, and about 20 notifications from chats at work. I keep my Enduro 3 paired with my iPhone for connectivity reasons.
13:05, 60% battery life, and an estimated 20 days left.
