Seen the Pogues three times live in Munich, always had them on my headphones - played from a Mc of my walkman, marching through Munich as a 17 years old Skinhead. Later at Christmastime they brought out a Fairytale of New York. Heavy on Cocaine, and still awake, and alone after our Christmasparty, I began to understand what a Genius Shane ever to me will be, I decided by this moment to hear his music till to the end of my bloody life, for to
honour this great artist. You're an Angel to me Shane Mac Gowan.....❤
I'll never forget the first time I heard The Pogues..>Fairytale in 1988 likely- Time stood still. Been hooked ever since. Love from Canada Jan2024
@donmacleod5084. The same happily happened to me and I have been hooked too.
RIP, Shane. Cheers forever.
Right before the Irish Rover he Hacks one out and you can hear him faintly imitate "like Ronnie drew", that man is a legend. Have a long and prosperous life to all the remaining Pogues and anyone who appreciates them. Cheers.
The Poguesの初来日公演、今は無くなったMZA有明のライブを見に行ったことを思い出します。
さようなら、Shane MacGowan、永遠に✨
He had a special feeling for the Japanese because he presents himself in pure form.
No. Because the money was good
I was lucky enough to see every show the Pogues played in SF
Which was still not enough . Even when Strummer fronted at the Great American music hall. That being said this performance is. one of there tightest . “ doesn’t matter I’m rich “ 😂
Shane, the man the myth the legend...thank you
The problem is that Shane is certainly not ugly. He is very far from being ugly. He has beautiful eyes and a lovely thin face. He is tall and all the rest of it. He has a very attractive personality. It is a matter of taste ; it is all a matter of taste. Cause, even with his teeth, he still remains certainly far more ATTRACTIVE than the one who sent him the remark. No doubt about it and even though I never saw the guy who said that !!! He will never be what Shane is !!!!
relax
What a lousy thing to shout up to the artist entertaining you! Shane is no way ugly...he is beautiful!
Shane is, even now, still beautiful.
Shane got better looking as he got older. Turned out very handsome later on.
I always found him very sexy
RIP Shane. You music lives on 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍Lone Wolf :)
One of the best bands on this fucking planet.
+kristijan1985 Das ist Ok

I didn't know yoy flew away, Shane. Love 😞
Rest in Peace, in majestic Shannon.
Quite the show. Boys did a couple of covers and even did an instrumental for their hosts. Finally showed vids of the audience before the encore.

"we got it off the Beatles. They're all dead so it doesn't matter" I hope I heard that correctly. Brilliant.
Year Year Year
クソ〜、最高だぜ!
Wow! Wish I'd have been at that concert! Love you Shane!
This should be released on DVD now.
3.
Still remember this great live in Ariake(有明アリーナ). Almost all the audience was dancing crazy and totally drunk, haha...
Thé Pogues as good as ever.
never liked 80's, but then u stumble upon the pogues and u fuckin' change your mind!! OMG this is just brilliant^^ 100% insane:))
early REM? Jesus and Mary Chain? echo and the bunnymen? The Misfits? Nothing but the Pogues from the 80s?
@@peterjonas4971 he is right...Pogues are very very underrated...and i like a lot 80ies stuff
@@mikemuller4376 I love the Pogues. For those of us who were teens in the 80s, it was hard to miss the Pogues...unless you were a hippy or a metal head.
@@peterjonas4971man kann auch Metall Fan sein und die Pogues trotzdem mögen ✌️

haha "here's another one of our highly spectacular flops-it's called A Rainy Night In Soho". Shane was in rare form here.
Not to mention when he introduces "If I should fall from grace with God" saying "which I am sure will never happen", just epic!
Shane after sake vs. whiskey, brilliant!
Legend
I love shane
Cool

"Thousands are Sailing"------sublime version.....
I love it!,I keep watching this many times,it is amazing!,Very sad than he is so old now

@@ehlerhog Not like him .I am 46,and people think I am 30
@@revolucionary no the band didn't exist yet in the 70es, they started in 1982.
@@pleasetellmethatyouloveme6922 yes but in this concert ,the singer said he was 30,so now he is 71,roughly same age than the others,he is also in a wheelchair
Great one
"it doesn't matter, I'm rich" epic
A lifelong Pogues fan. . . .Just found this footage. Fkn loved that put-down by Shane!! pmsl !!
Which is Shane's put-down to what? Am I mishearing or does some idiot say "ugly" or something? I can't understand well what that guy says from the crowd
FelesAdamantis "shane, you're a pisshead" meaning he's a drunk.
Thanks for clarifying!
@@FelesAdamantis Someone said "You put the U in Ugly" to Shane.
Rip PC your likes may never be seen again slan
Awesome ❤️

Here on Paddy's day weekend 2018🍀cheers 'ears?
Someone in audience: "Shane, your teeth are ugly!!!"
Shane responds: "... well, i know that, doesn't matter, i'm RICH!!!" 😂😂😂😂
LEGEND of the LEGENDS!!!
'You put the u in ugly.'
fucking great show 😃
This is around the time of his downfall, doing a world tpur and famous and rich from Fairytale and the time he became dependent on alcohol and a heroin addict. After the tour his sister said he was never the same again and got him sectioned. People always think he was drunk bit he was on heavy duty medication as well for most of his life after
good
PRACHTIG CONCERT .
Best band of the century but I think Year year year sounds more like the Stones than Beatles!!!!!
The Pogues are better than the Beatles, the Stones and Bob Dylan put together. Shane MacGowan is pure genius - some of his songs go straight to your heart like nothing else, and I think his voice is better than even the likes of Luke Kelly and Ronnie Drew...
I respect your right to an opinion however dont you think that claim is verging on being disingenuous?
They are yes, but Bruce and the E street band are even better
@jacob fiil 100% agree!
I own every Pogues album and EP up till Peace And Love but better than The Beatles, Stones and Dylan put together?! Let’s not go nuts now.
I fucking dislike people who create ranking between people....
Bottle of Smoke! 38:00
Did i hear that right, before streams of whiskey someone shout at shane that he is ugly and shane says yes i know that, but doesn't matter i'm rich? Sorry for my bad english....
No somebody sais him ,you are cute ,you are lovely!,and then he means streams of wiskey doesnt matter on rich ,because the rich can waste whiskey as they like
@@revolucionary you put the U in ugly. That's what was said.
You’re absolutely right 👍🏽
🪐⚡️💫✨🙏❤️
Sleep well dear Shane
Its crazy to think they are all completely English, Only shane has irish parents
6:51 dear god what just happened
Anyone know why spider is sitting down?
le dernier vrai punk
If they had a singer who could have held a tune...they'd be nothing.

Did he ever get his teeth fixed?
When he got married his wife talked him into getting them fixed. Watch the documentary Johnny Depp made about him called "crock of gold". It's really good and goes through his whole life. Shane says a few words with a bit of prodding from Depp but it's interesting and he whistles a lot due to his teeth and he laughs a lot. It is a good watch for certain
It might not have been good for his singing though. His new teeth whistle a lot when talks and sings.. maybe there is a way around it I dunno
there's this thing called Google @missumenimsatanass
silence please ...
How did his voice change so much over the course of just a few years all down hill from 1988 as regarding his voice I think myself interest was gone at this stage of his career
I don't have any insider info but it seems fatigue + booze had their hooks in him at this point. You contrast his energy during these years with the amount of sheer joy the band are trying to transmit. It's no wonder they got frustrated. But it's nobody's "fault".
The drinking, smoking, and druggist took their toll. Also all his teeth fell out and everything live (but in the studio too) became much more garbled
Shane looks adorable here, but gives a bit of a lackadaisical effort. He's relatively sober but forgets more words than when he's drunk off his rocker. All the gum chewing is funny though.
Nope
Why'd he laugh at broad majestic shannon? I guess who cares. Helder down eh
i think i understand japanese better than this dude's language
That ridiculous German accordion...
bad manners
It could have been a fantastic concert if the sound quality had been better...
Unfortunately, this recording only deserves a "thumbs down", because even as a fan of the Pogues you don't have to put up with this recording!
