Thank you so much for all of these videos on your channel Swtorista! I just started playing about 4 months ago and quite frankly I was very overwhelmed with all the different things you can do. My first character was a Sith Warrior and I really just stuck with the items that were dropped to me and that's about it. So now I'm playing as an Inquisitor and I have been dying to figure out how to make crystals and hilts until I found your videos and they are extremely helpful! I'm definitely starting to have more fun with the game noe that im learning the ins-and-outs of what you can do. Even on my preferred status there's so much stuff to figure out!
Cheers! There is SO MUCH in this game and I don't even cover half of it in this channel.. there's so many fun little things like dyes and cosmetics to explore.
Swtorista they really are. My favorite dyes are the reputation ones for sure. Checking the GTN now. Several of them are less than 100k on my server, so yes they are cheap
Nice overview! There is also a nice cheap White/Deep Red module you can get from security key vendor on Fleet. I know this is about crafted dyes, but maybe an honorable mention as it is easy to get non-CM dye :)
4:30 I have that on a exact combo (light brown in Remnant Resurrected) and find it nice and subtle, with the bonus that I can pass to anyone in legacy.
I am still so pissed that they made the five most popular dye modules in the entire game locked behind the damn Cartel Market. Black/Black, White/White, Black/White, White/Black, and Dark Gray/Black. The Dark Gray/Black specifically is one I want on three of my characters, since the other five already have the ones i want, but there's no way I'll ever get them because they sell for even more than the black and white ones, and they're rare even on the GTN. Bioware really screwed up when they made this dye system, it's just another cash grab.
Information missing: - Many reputation dye schematics are bind on pickup, but your reputations are legacy wide so you can grind a reputation and rep currency with a different character on that server/legacy and then buy the schematic with the character that has Artifice crew skill. - Do NOT waste money/rep currency by applying dye to EACH PIECE OF GEAR. Instead apply dye to a chest piece you wish to outfit with and then use the Outfitter to "Unify Colors" so that the chest dye is applied to all pieces of gear. - Dyes are special never 'free' single-use items and even if you buy it through the Cartel market you will NOT unlock it so you WILL have to buy it again if you ever want to use it on another piece. Any attempt to remove a dye will cause it to be destroyed.
What dye modules allows to paint in a color that is as close as possible to the color of Bobba Fett's armor? Are there any khaki or camouflage colors in the swtor? Thanks! You are the best!))
Sadly, most of these dyes don't look very good on many gear pieces. CM dyes have generally less screamy colors and better contrasts. A lot of them a more subtle and thematic, like the recent camo, uniform and officer dies. Really fit well with soldiers and hunters. Wish we could at least switch primary and secondary at will. Great vid!
A lot of them are really crazy, like the purple/yellow and the green/orange Christmas colors. I think they saved some of the more subtle pairs for high-level artifice (like the black/gray) and for the reputation (the black/color and white/color dyes).
One of the reasons I left when SWTOR went F2P is that I knew the coolest items would require micro transactions, instead of just paying a sub and being able to get them through gameplay. Because SWTOR has micro transactions, that's abhorrent they lock dies behind reputation grinds, which is a system designed for sub only games (keeps folk playing and so subbing). Just put them on the Cartel Market (if they look good) or let them be crafted (if they aren't likely to be bought).
Yes you can. You don't need to use the modification station just ctrl+right click their armor. There are some old armors that don't accept dyes though.
Is there a Black and Cyan dye module? I'm asking so that when I'm able to get swtor working then maybe I could get it from someone so that I'll be able to use it at some point.
@@Swtorista They should add more. You know to add more variety and keep the game sort of fresh. Plus cyan is right in between blue and green. The darker shade of it is what we all know as the color teal. So if they do add it, it'll be pretty popular.
@@doomsdaySephiroth ~ I would definitely use it. It would go great with the gold metallic parts on our outfits especially... maybe a bit of black too ;)
@@nickturner904 Don't forget about the other combos using cyan and teal. They would also go great with outfits and add a depth of color in the game that hasn't been seen before.
Yes and no. For the gathering skills, like Scavenging, that's correct, or by picking stuff up off the ground. For the actual crafting skills, like Artifice in this video, you actually need to craft to level up crafting :)
@@Swtorista Ah, okay. So I need to send out my minion on Archaeology to get the supplies, then use them to craft with Artifice, and... sell the results? I guess?... and then eventually I can make dye modules which is all I ever want out of crew skills? #fashionrepubliconline #preferredplayerrighthere
DON'T DYE AN ARMOR PIECE WHILE IT'S IN THE OUTFITTER SLOT AND REMOVE IT. IT WILL 86 YOUR DYE. I just lost an expensive dye doing that, and there was ZERO warning. This dye system sucks.
If you're preferred or Free-to-Play I think you can have artifice level up to 500 requiring a level 60 character /Shadow of revan unlock (which they made free last year)
I have never understood why they haven’t just split the day modules. Why make dye modules that are combined when you could just sell primary and secondary separately. The possibilities for customization would go through the roof. And don’t even get me started on why the hell bioware hasn’t added dyes to the collections yet. Cash grab 101.
I have a much deeper respect for these color combos, as they are quite a bit of work. AND they are one outfit only? So sad! I was hoping it would be a collection item but I guess not. Where i just started I mean I don't even know what I want to wear on who much less to commit to that level.
@@Swtorista I can only laugh at myself, as not too long after this, I bought the blue gear, upgraded it out, bought purple and grey dye, wore it for about an hour, and then I found that I can buy the Jabba slave outfit and so I can't even see the purple at all, and need to buy it again to die that Slave outfit. SMH. BTW I commented and deleted the comment, I am still not too clear on it, but I couldn't buy Orange armors for the 2500, only blue. But the names all lined up with what you had in your linked chart so, i was guessing I misunderstood. There were some options for some other kind of currency and credits for orange. I could only buy mods up to the level I was at as well. Still don't really know what I am doing, but it did help me on Courascant. (sp?) I followed a lot of your advice, your hard work has meant a lot, so thank you so much! Today I switched from cybertech to Bio scanning to supplement my Slicing and salvaging. Still trying to do too much too early, but really enjoying learning about it all.
Do not, I repeat, do NOT put the white/light gray dye module in trooper gear and go to Hoth. I did that once and lost track of my trooper...
Nahh it just mean i can camoflage like a real soldier
You could always turn your character name on
Lol

Thank you for this one.... also for this one. Saw a good deal of reputation dyes that I still need to get. And NEED is the right word 😃
The Reputation dyes are really nice! I'm still surprised you can earn them. I think they're 100k-200k on my server on the GTN.
