Exactly this. Do it like Cyberpunk 2077. Yes, of course, add a config slider to adjust for lower power machines but give high power machines something to show off about!
Personally I don’t think the Character Update goes far enough. Player characters still looks like Clones Wars toons while the newer story NPCs look more life-like and don’t look like they belong in the same setting.
@@jarred110 They can redo the models, redoing the models for the old standard npcs is the same as redoing the models for player characters, they use the same models. Other games have done it with their modernizations. WoW changed all their character 3D models, not just textures and lighting. Putting in new higher polygon 3D models isn't remaking the game, codes would still be the same. Just a matter of creating new models in linking to the new file. Animations anything else can mostly remain the same.
Its all subjective to the art style. People can say that NPCs look better but look at Lana. She is easily the lowest resolution and most unnatrual looking character in the game. Many of the original models are still far better to this day. It's only the much more recent new characters which look noticably better than vanilla. It's also worth mentioning that the original graphics were clearly chosen because the art style is timeless. They'd just need to run it through an upscaler eventually. When you start moving away from a cartoony style you open the game up to aging much more poorly in the future. WoW took a decade to even start pushing the graphics forward because the art style carried it for so long and even then they made no attempt to make things more realisitic, it's all just resolution and polycount increases.
@@EmpyreanDreamer I don't mind the original toony art style, it's the inconsistency that annoys me. If they want to make the setting Clone Wars toon-esque, fine. Keep it that way, don't go adding new characters that looks realistic. Stick to one art style, change the new realistic characters back to toony if they don't want to update base models to the new more realistic style of the new story NPCs. Otherwise we have sets of characters with different art styles in the same game, looks odd, and immersion breaking.

I’d like to see a remaster of difficulty and levelling experience actually. I’d love to play like it was on vanilla, slower and more challenging. I’d come back right away
LOTRO does this seamlessly. There’s an npc you talk to in the towns/starting zones that will turn up or down the difficulty. The higher difficulties, groups are required, but have much higher exp and loot rewards!
Not every planet would have this given that some planets vary across the galaxy and their positions from the sun. Also some planets lack atmosphere and potentially pull which would completely eliminate both cycles.
@@allknowingfreddybear9291 And traveling at light speed would be impossible. and a laser sword wouldn't stop at a tip, but go on forever.....Let's not get bogged down by scientific details. You can give science a pass when it improves the story of the movie. So you can give science a pass when it comes to planetary night/day cycles.
Some planets might be all night/ all day, or some planets might not even rotate at all and could be all dark on one half of the planet and all bright on the other half in perpetuity, thus affecting the various flora and fauna, as well as the people. Some planets like Kamino are constantly raining, and planets like Tatooine get very little to no rain. So, it really doesn’t make sense for ALL planets to get the changes you mentioned.
When i saw Ossus first time and its storm on the horizon i was like , aww man thats lovely, so now the clouds will dim the sun and rain will fall any minute now ? It would be nice to see weather conditions and day/night, especially when some planets would just not be able to get proper daylight like Ilum for example, but Hoth or Coruscant or Alderaan at night, Nar Shadaa at day would be awesome
What better way would there be to show off the new textures, models, shaders and effects other than by having the option to replay the old class, and maybe even planet story quests. Sightseeing is nice and all, but actually playing the game while seeing all the improvements is far better. It'd be nice to not have to level a toon just for the story again, and instead be able to use our mains.
I've been saying this for years. I'd love for class stories to be replayable, bonus points if planetary main quests are included too. I've remade the same Inquisitor 3 times to refresh my memory for this fan fiction I've been writing. And even then, I have to grind until I reach the planet I need 😩
I think this is a great move, Because it means that this game is here to stay. No one would go this far if it was not gonna stay long term. I loved this game a lot and I want the game to stay longer. I joined this game back when Companions did not have 3 roles (Tank, Healer, Damage/DPS) thats as far as back I been in this game.
I haven't played since 2018. I wouldn't mind seeing a console version so I can see it come back to life. It would be a fresh new game for a million people without a PC.
Despite being a PC player, for years I've been saying that SWTOR would do EXTREMELY well on consoles. If they take note from how FFXIV works with controller i think the game would be pretty popular on consoles. Hell, even on pc having the ability to play with a controller would be nice. SWTOR is one of those games that would be perfect for just leaning back and relaxing with a controller at times. SWTOR may not be one of my favorite MMOs but the story is great and I'd love for more people on consoles to be able to experience it,
Honestly I've played swtor on shitty laptops in the past yeah you can't do max graphics but it still works and those shitty laptops are cheaper than even ps4's.
@@absyrtus3707 And be killed by first pack of mobs cos you need 10-20 skills to play and camera rotating still disgusting even with mouse. Good luck to use it on gamepad. I start playing the game around that time too also the video post name swtor a new meme that video is legend and simple joke by the old swtor. I stop playing that game since 2018. College day was the best, when it come to work daily it's sucks don't have time to play around and role playing as bartender selling jabba the Hutt breast milk.
It's been my favorite game with several thousand hours played since downloading it a few years ago, and I always look forward to updates and I'm hoping this game continues to be relevant and to expand. I've played all the stories several times and love creating new characters with different motivations and choices.
I played new characters recently (Cathar Smuggler and Pureblood Sith Warriors) and I noticed the changes, it was like I was playing an entirely different Star Wars online game.
I played the original beta with my brother and I remember both of us getting our light sabers on Korriban. Playing Vanilla when it first came out was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.
I've said for a very long time. Swtor needs a few things. Reasons to go back to planets. Increased difficulty. More dynamic open world interactions. Expanding starter zones make the planets seem bigger. Albion online did a cool feature where mobs travel, but also get more difficult the longer they aren't culled. Once they reach a certain level factions can fight on planets for quests etc. Furthermore they should also spawn Faction roaming spawns on planets. This generates threat meter. Also the roaming mobs on both ends would greatly increase the difficulty and dynamic surprises that can happen while leveling.
Replaying your main story would be MASSIVE to get me back into the game, like a new game+. I've already made 5 other sith warriors just to play the story again and really like one I ended up on. For critique, the visuals were really hard to catch, sometimes showing old or new versions without their comparisons, and some transitions were either started very early or ended before they were fully shown. Kinda felt like a tease.
I want them to go a step further. Create an off shoot of swtor that's pretty much the solo campaign with major side quests as a single player game with no online capability. It's worthy of it, imo. I'd pay full price for a re release.
Kinda agree with this tbh. Since KOTFE the game has essentially been an online single player game with some MMO stuff inside it. So much so that a large amount of the player base only focus on class missions and story expansions. If they make an entirely single player offline version with all the same crafting/gear upgrades then it would still be just as popular imo
@@Revanite-842 I'd pre order it. Include all previous cartel items as apparel to justify the price etc. I'd be the single player sequel to the Kotor series we never got.
The only reason I join back from time to time is to make a new character and run the story. Since the very begining this game was marketed as KotOR 3,4,5 but the story moves at snail pace and I only log back for a week every couple of years :(
Release it to consoles, then start working on the sequel. Why can’t devs and publishers see this? Me: *Sees that it’s made by Lucasarts and BioWare, published by EA* sometimes I ask questions to subjects I already know the answers to.
and for the devs that say "we can't map an action bar worth of powers to a controller" look at how sacred 2: fallen angel did it. 4 face buttons, and d-pad gives you 8 buttons then those buttons do an alternate thing when combined with each trigger (left, right, both). that gives you 24 inputs not including start, select, the shoulders and the thumbsticks
@ possible? Maybe Probable? Perhaps. Will it happen if the impossible happens(the entire SW fanbase agreeing on something)? I’ve seen stranger things happen in the past 10 years…..*Puts on my Chicago Cubs hat*
There should be a body type between 2-3 when making my character I always thought male warrior was to slim or to big something in-between would be great
I might be the only one but I would love a SWTOR Classic server like WOW does it now. I miss the old way of playing where leveling was at least a bit of a challenge and you had to do almost every mission on the planet in order to level up. Also companions being stuck to their role and needing good gear was so cool in my opinion!
@@TheOmegaAlfa you think currently its better? Maybe now since you only do the story mission and that's enough to progress. There is also 0 risk in doing so, while in classic you had to do the other missions otherwise you turned up underleveled. I noticed now if I do story and main planetary mission on Coruscant I am level 20 before leaving which is almost the limit of the next planet already 😅
i'm glad you mentioned the fact of wanting to replay all the storied content like we did with the 2/3 of the Zakul Saga without needing to remake our CAC (Custom Avatar Char) constantly. i've been wanting it so much with all the storied content in general. the movie cutscene via a holocron is an idea i didn't even think of so props. also the Thanos meme in the beginning never gets old lol
Honestly native controller support would be the best, because it is the one thing that is stopping me from being able to play with my son. He is so interested in the game but unfortunately he just really struggles playing keyboard and mouse.
Steam has some controller layouts that work well right now :) if you’re willing to tweak your UI a little bit you might be able to get your son playing! I wouldn’t expect native controller support for atleast another 1-2 years.
@@swcentral we finally tried playing last night, he really struggles with the controller, so I tried to get him to play with keyboard and mouse, but it was too overwhelming for him. Also, you can get titles in game that make your name look cooler anyways, definitely take a look through them if the name is going to be important. Godspeed
This is great news. I've been thinking about coming back recently. It's been several years since I played. Some of those textures I remember being very blurry.
A list of features that would make this game timeless (I know these are impossible but it would make it the ideal Star Wars game for all fans): 1. Actual flying mounts like WoW and more 'levels' to map areas. Areas mostly feel like you are on the ground floor at all times and you are just moving in a straight line with some ups and downs. Let us use the flying mounts to reach our destinations but keep the taxi service as a way to reach destinations faster if you're in a hurry. Also if you are using a Jetpack as a mount add a fuel gauge. 2. ''Real'' planets and cities to explore. Merge all the areas and fill in the gaps between them with AI generated generic landscapes. Make npc's more reactive to the players presence if they are a Jedi/Sith holding their ignited lightsaber. 3. Space to ground flights with your starship. The starship is essentially just an area - it doesn't feel like you own a starship and can explore the galaxy. Add more freedom and incentive to explore the galaxy. 4. Updated fighting animations to make the game more like the trailers that are action packed and full of dynamic lightsaber battles. 5. Real day/night cycles and dynamic weather.
I would love to see the Class stories re-structured, Or if no re-structured, make it apparant what choices you made. Give our old characters a little history.
I am glad to see the updates, I love this game. I am still hoping for a new game + though so I can play my characters without having to make a new one to replay the story. I have far to many characters already, I have to delete some to make room each time lol.
Dromund Kaas being larger, bigger city, more jungle, Korriban wilds, more unnamed tombs, a few more settings in the character creator... and a LOT more companion content, I hope! So much improvement possibility!
It was great when the Vanilla game came out, but like so many dev teams they decided players were to stupid to figure it out so they dumbed it down. It's a pale shadow of what it was. It needs some of that old nuance back.
@@noctoiIts not about stupidity, it's about appealing to the masses. Unfortunately you are a minority not everyone has the ability to play for hours and hours on end to master it. In order for a revival of this game it has to appeal to the casual player otherwise it will just be like beforem
Good stuff, my friend. It looks like I’m going to re subscribe after my short hiatus and continue. I whole heartedly love this MMO and the developers are taking it in the right direction and they have been doing a phenomenal job. I’m looking forward to all the great things they have planned.
As someone who only plays for the story, I don't really care about the remastering. I want a good story and only that. Devs, PLEASE implement more voiced storylines and bring back the past narrative quality of SWTOR narratives! Example: Improve the Saboteur storylines and make us able to switch sides! I would love to see the true extent of the betrayals come to life.
@teamofone1219 same here, which is why i stay away from them like the plague. that coupled with season passes, micro transactions and the fact i do not always have internet are a big deterent for me when it comes to getting into an MMO. I mostly play on my steamdeck on the go nowadays anyways.
First step is a comprehensive controller mapping and UI revamp for a console port. Use the steam controller overlay feature as a baseline and expand the playerbase exponentially. Then with the new generated revenue, the rest of the updates will be fully funded and begin rolling out. Maybe partner with Microsoft to discount subscriptions for gamepass ultimate subscribers. I just started this game maybe 2 weeks ago, and I'm stoked that it's getting remastered. I play exclusively with a controller and it's pretty smooth once you get it tuned to your liking.
1:50 Yes the bleak all white barren plantets one of them you visit at very late game and you visit them maybe 2-3 times max are getting retextured assets to have better bleak white barren areas yes, broadsword is really allocating resources to the peak maximum here.
With Hoth, you have a point. Only with Hoth. It’s still needlessly bright. But it’s undeniable they have improved the sky texture, cliffs, surfaces, metals, and way more. Hoth has always been one of the most hated planets for how huge and empty it is along with the blinding white light. This next update fixes most of that except the latter.
I would like to see them add a feature where we could Buy and Customize our own starships, the Ships they gave us as our personal ships are all great, but it would be great to be able to get different ships, and customize them like we can with strongholds, like with the Bounty Hunter, Being stuck with the D-5 Mantis of we could buy our own ships and customize them the way we want, that would make the game so much better! And it would definitely add to the immersion! It's been 14 years, and strongholds are one of my favorite parts about this game, the amount of customization with them is just awesome! And if we could customize the color of our strongholds walls, and ships! I just think a lot more people would be into it more of we could truly explore the galaxy, like no more divided worlds, (except for Tython, and Korriban) the rest should be free reign to go to. Just a few thoughts of mine, I've played since day one off and on, and i absolutely still love this game, but i just wish it was more true to being an open world mmo
Absolutely. It was SO GOOD!! I mean, it was janky AF but it was still freaking brilliant. Those Vanilla boss fights are the best raiding of ANY MMO I've ever played. I was devastated when they hit it with the "casualisation" stick. The new skill trees are such a pale watery version of the original skills. And nothing makes you love solid ground like getting stuck INSIDE the holocom of your ship for HOURS on end waiting for a teleport to space station cool down 🤣
This is not a remaster of vanilla. Stop saying that. For example, having Companions having their own stat gear and dedicated roles again, are part of what anyone would call actual "vanilla". They just do bang-for-the-buck core changes that give a little better graphics across the board, and still stay well away from specific new planetary content. They avoid new content like the plague, and always will.
This is absolutely a remaster. Just a slow one. When you go back and rebuild old assets, improve them and replace them, that’s a remaster. Overhaul, redux, relaunch. Pick any they all work. Having specific companion roles back would be nice, but not gonna happen. Instead you’ll get new companions that specialise in a certain role, like Bessie.
@@swcentral The issue isn't with the word "remaster" it's the use of the word "vanilla". This implies they're releasing a version where you can play the game in its original launch state.
@@blip3677 I’d say fair enough but the title or my statements do not include “vanilla server” at all. Vanilla content remaster and Vanilla/Classic server are two, VERY different things. This why it’s important to pay attention and listen.
I think something that really needs to be explored is a possibility of adding a criminal faction - name it whatever - and then basically take the current Smuggler and Bounty Hunter classes and move them to those missions and create more immersive story missions for all the factions besides. This game, with the right life poured into it, could rival WOW.
We actually have those already, they just appear in the forms of bounty event, galactic seasons garbage and also reputation vendors. But I understand what you’re asking I think, like a playable new faction you can join or a new way to play? Sounds cool!
Whenever it's fully remastered I'm def running through on a new character again, its been a few years since I played. I don't think I've done any DLC either, I was a collector edition pre-order player and last time I tried to play was when they first rolled out the new class system.
Been playing SWTOR on and off since it first launched, it's definitely had its ups and down.... with the downs winning out the past few years, but it's always been my go to 'side' MMORPG. It's seriously hype the fact they're 'remastering' the game. Not just the visuals, but with the addition of the dynamic encounters on Tatooine and Hoth, it seems like they're planning to add a lot more to the planets gameplay wise as well. Very exciting time for SWTOR :D
Through about 10y in this game, I lost the count of how many alt characters I've made just to play main story again and then delete them. And making old locations relevant to the main character would help so much. Even just having a greeting or a new sentence from NPCs back in Korriban and Dromund Kaas would mean so much for immersion of main character.
I really loved the class stories. I have played all of them and some of them even more than 3 times. In my opinion the only "bad" thing they could fix is, that some of the dialogue options don't reflect what your character will say. I often had to restart conversations, which is really frustrating and kills the immersion.
i would have been all over this game as a kid if it were on consoles😭i remember having one of those amazon kinder tablets as a kid that let you play regular KOTOR for free, and loved it. and then learning there was an MMO, but i didn’t have a pc. tough.

@@swcentral I did watch your video, but unfortunately you have a habit of repeating yourself quite a bit to make a 10 minute video, all of that does not make it a remaster, especially when you look at the graphical update, the examples they gave were so minor that its nearly impossible to tell, and under Broadsword you cant expect alot from them at all, as a SWTOR fan myself i want nothing but the best for this game but lets just call it for what it is, its a very minor systems update at best.
@@HixxyDubz "nearly impossible to tell" are you blind? Yes in some areas it not as drastic but there is CLEAR difference in what's been updated. @@swcentral so im actually a beginner developer myself since 2020, i never once said that this update is bad, its just not as big as you make it out to be, the changes are nice but not drastic, the graphic updates are nice but not that impactful, that does not fall under a remaster because of how minor that change is, i dont know what you think a remaster is but this aint it, this is an upgrade, a remaster would be a game like Diablo 2 where there are SIGNIFICANT changes graphically and internally. Thats fact, not opinion.
@ No, that’s an opinion lol. Look at ME Legendary edition. Some would argue the same point you’re making now, and that mods did it better already. Yet that edition is still a remaster of the trilogy. A remaster needs improvements to MULTIPLE aspects of the game that effect it wholly. This does exactly that. You’re splitting hairs and arguing for a silly semantical discussion. If you don’t think it’s good enough to be considered a remaster, that’s your opinion. I’m still waiting for my timestamps of repeating myself.
Sounds awesome I hope they do all the stuff you suggested, and I still think more character customization is better, I’d love it if I could have style without having to hid my characters face, but honestly its fine I’ll just be a mando. I’d love it if they made it more a third person shooter and also to explore in 1st person while being able to look down and see my body and armor set
haven't played years, but a huge issue i saw when i played was inflation causing the auction house prices to go so high that f2p became unviable. when i started playing i was able to buy most of the account boosts so that i was practically a preferred player, but by the end of my time (lvl 50'd 8 characters); the prices were so high, it wasn't worth it for players to even sell the account boost items at prices that f2p accounts could buy them (200k credit wallet cap) if they added in more credit sinks to counter inflation or increased wallet size for f2p then i could stop telling my friends "it's not worth playing unless you're paying"
I am loving the modernization and welcome more of it. I just hope they also remaster the old armor that came with the game like valiant jedi, eradicator, havoc squad, etc. Meanwhile I am hoping they remove Reaver and add a proper Marr armor with the same dyes as the NPC.
I would love to see more races added to the mix. I know its a stretch as we can only play as human looking ailens but I'd love to play as kaleesh. Other than that i am looking foward to the new updates and will certainly create a new character to experience it all in full effect.
Graphics revamps are always welcome. As a returning player, I had some trouble determining where I should go/what I should do as there was a wealth of content available to me. What was worthwhile still? What gave current/decent loot? What are other players still participating in, so I can easily find a group? Etc. The devs can do a lot with the years and years of content here but they have to streamline it for people coming into it fresh/nearly fresh.
As a player since launch, what always drew me in was the immersiveness of the stories. The original eight storylines all feature some stellar voice acting for both the PC and the NPC, which was something never really seen before. At least not to the level that SWTOR provided. But in the expansions? There just isn't that feeling and the protagonist is reduced to a dialogue tree. Now, I can only imagine how high the cost of VO veterans Jennifer Hale, Tom Kane, & Tara Strong, plus so many more was at launch. Add to that screen actors such as Lacey Chabert, Phil LaMarr, & Rachael Leigh Cook. But dang, it's hard to play a character that you've identified with for 50 levels become a non-speaking puppet.
I've been playing since 2012 and go through cycles where ill play for a month then stop for 4 months and come back. Its been great to see it continue to improve as we get more powerful PCs. I would be interested in any more classes being added. Not totally sure what would make sense to add but I've done all the classes and expansions.
That will be ages, game is built on DX9 remestering the whole game takes years with a perfect team. I love it as it is more than a decade ago, and still playin' it.
As a lapsed player who is overwhelmed when logging in now. I think the Deva should implement some kind of returning player system. WOW does this now by cleaning your log and putting you back at a major hub city. Also SWOTOR on counsel would be amazing.
I actually think ESO is going through a similar process as this year they've released updates for the base game (something that hasn't happened in years). Also in an entirely different genre the truck sim games American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 are currently going through updates that improve the oldest parts of the game.
I have been playing this game since its release. I played with my dad on release day and I've taken a few breaks from it over the years, but I played it just last week for a few hours. When I start hyperfocusing on Star Wars, which happens every few months, I play this game because it does the best job of feeling like Star Wars than most other games. I wish they would make a #2 with updated everything, but if they don't, I'll still continue to play for years to come
I think it would be cool when you're in a mount that requiers a driver, your companion is the driver and you could talk to them in private while driving.
I played like 20 hours of that game many years ago. I clicked on this video with the hope the changes might bring me back, but it doesn't seem enough in my personal opinion. All I can say is that I watched the cinematic trailers for this game more often than anything else.
It's not the graphics that need improving, it's the overall feel of the game. The fact that the game stutters when you open up your inventory. The fact that camera smoothing still feels slightly off compared to something like ARR, or WoW. It's engine tweaks and improvements we need, not texture and lighting.
With the updated textures on starter planners it only makes sense in future updates for the devs to add new areas to explore as they have done with Vos Ord mantel and Hutta

Day and night cycle would be awesome. As well as the weather.

I’d like to see a remaster of difficulty and levelling experience actually. I’d love to play like it was on vanilla, slower and more challenging. I’d come back right away
I completely agree!
a difficulty setting like what we have for KOTFE and KOTET but for the base game would be perfect
LOTRO does this seamlessly. There’s an npc you talk to in the towns/starting zones that will turn up or down the difficulty. The higher difficulties, groups are required, but have much higher exp and loot rewards!
I would love to see a day/night and weather cycle on all of the planets
Not every planet would have this given that some planets vary across the galaxy and their positions from the sun. Also some planets lack atmosphere and potentially pull which would completely eliminate both cycles.
@@allknowingfreddybear9291 They may be very slow or fast.
Let us replay the class stories like we can with KOTFE
that would definitely easily add a couple hundred, thousand more hours when replaying
And let's us change choices we regret
@@RedSpiderZero Why, dude? Imo it'd break the feeling of actually making a decision with your character. Replay cutscenes would be cool tho.
Excellent point!
Right! I genuinely think it would do great on console
Rust ftw

i've been playing since 2012, still loving it today and playing daily
I start playing the game around that time too also the video post name swtor a new meme that video is legend and simple joke by the old swtor. I stop playing that game since 2018. College day was the best, when it come to work daily it's sucks don't have time to play around and role playing as bartender selling jabba the Hutt breast milk.
I have played off and on since 2012. Founder account here. Great game. I am siked up to know it coming to console may be a future possibility.
It's been my favorite game with several thousand hours played since downloading it a few years ago, and I always look forward to updates and I'm hoping this game continues to be relevant and to expand. I've played all the stories several times and love creating new characters with different motivations and choices.
This is a good start, hope they work on animations too. Broadsword have a chance to do something big against the odds
I played new characters recently (Cathar Smuggler and Pureblood Sith Warriors) and I noticed the changes, it was like I was playing an entirely different Star Wars online game.
I played the original beta with my brother and I remember both of us getting our light sabers on Korriban. Playing Vanilla when it first came out was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.
up until endgame ...
@ got atris fall and after 3 weeks went back to cod lol
I hope all pre-kotfe armors also get this treatment, the difference in detail between these sets can cause mix-match to look goofy/off.
Kinda felt like a tease.
been noticing the updates since the new company took over, lots of communication which is good. Excited to jump back into this
I kind of like the vibes of SWTOR. I like the graphics how they are. Idk maybe I'm weird but the "old school" vibe feels homie
same
Honestly I'm not fond of the cartoony look since playing the singleplayer games, they weren't cartoony.
Since the very begining this game was marketed as KotOR 3,4,5 but the story moves at snail pace and I only log back for a week every couple of years :(
Oh hell yeah.
I'd like that too
Release it to consoles, then start working on the sequel.
Why can’t devs and publishers see this?

Devs, if you’re reading: This ^
Release on consoles, work in the sequel. The End.
@ it’s so simple.
It goes over the heads of executives
and for the devs that say "we can't map an action bar worth of powers to a controller" look at how sacred 2: fallen angel did it. 4 face buttons, and d-pad gives you 8 buttons then those buttons do an alternate thing when combined with each trigger (left, right, both). that gives you 24 inputs not including start, select, the shoulders and the thumbsticks
I doubt we'll get a sequel ngl

Probable? Perhaps.

That's something that makes me reinstall the game and connect to the servers! It's huge!
I might be the only one but I would love a SWTOR Classic server like WOW does it now. I miss the old way of playing where leveling was at least a bit of a challenge and you had to do almost every mission on the planet in order to level up. Also companions being stuck to their role and needing good gear was so cool in my opinion!
I do want them to make relevant companion gear again. Gives you a reason to invest in your companions.
I played the game at launch and I kept hitting the level cap at Voss.
Actually I believe that level scaling is right on - we were out leveling content starting from Taris / Balmorra onwards.
This. I've wanted this for years. Stopped playing after revan expansion when companions weren't role specific and had real inventory management.
i'm glad you mentioned the fact of wanting to replay all the storied content like we did with the 2/3 of the Zakul Saga without needing to remake our CAC (Custom Avatar Char) constantly. i've been wanting it so much with all the storied content in general. the movie cutscene via a holocron is an idea i didn't even think of so props. also the Thanos meme in the beginning never gets old lol
I guess we'll try again when he is a little older.

@bridgetteryan5876 Ah that's so awesome they tried it out though! That's the first step here, dipping your toes in! - I'm glad you were able to try at least, hopefully in the future we can get something more official that accommodates you a lot more.
Also, LMAO! Gonna have to try experimenting with varieties to see what is not taken. Also, you can get titles in game that make your name look cooler anyways, definitely take a look through them if the name is going to be important. Godspeed
This is great news. I've been thinking about coming back recently. It's been several years since I played. Some of those textures I remember being very blurry.
This gives me hope that maybe well get a console port if they update all the graphics
A list of features that would make this game timeless (I know these are impossible but it would make it the ideal Star Wars game for all fans):
The game must be doing well if they're going this far to improve the visuals this way
i think we need more Leeku options for twileks
Yes! Should be allowed to choose its rest position, length, thickness and more. Some only have one, rare Twi’leks have three!
And more options (hairstyle) for the red Zabrak !
Please no world between worlds. I like the Holocron angle for story replay.
I wondered why a few planets looked a little less drab and had some side quests I absolutely did not remember ever doing before
Yeah they definitely added some new side quests to the starting planets to.
I just want a homebase at Hutta. Fell in love with the atmo right away as young Agent back in 2011.
The combat system needs a rework
If it was as smooth as wow id jever stop
It was great when the Vanilla game came out, but like so many dev teams they decided players were to stupid to figure it out so they dumbed it down. It's a pale shadow of what it was. It needs some of that old nuance back.
@@noctoiIts not about stupidity, it's about appealing to the masses. Unfortunately you are a minority not everyone has the ability to play for hours and hours on end to master it.
Since i got a new computer, gonna gt more money from my second job, I might play the game again. would be cool to have characters age a bit as well.
it doesn't need a remaster, it needs an offline mode.
This it's annoying when the servers go down for maintenance and you can't play it. That is what I hate about MMOs in general.
@teamofone1219 same here, which is why i stay away from them like the plague. that coupled with season passes, micro transactions and the fact i do not always have internet are a big deterent for me when it comes to getting into an MMO. I mostly play on my steamdeck on the go nowadays anyways.
Yep, they're putting effort into it so I'm actually spreading to word to old friends who used to play it, to come back :D
hey Devs if ya readin this.... age sliders... please? 🥺🥺
I still haven't played certain classes and storyline so that motivates me a lot to go back to the game 😁
If they update the running and idle animations I would likely start playing again. The updates to graphics are a great start though
That’s not a bad suggestion.
Even the regular standing animations and unsheathed weapon animations need an update
This. Omg. The walking animations made me stop a lot of games people seem to love. Monster Hunter Wilds has some NICE walking animations.
True
Current SWTOR players dont have the balls for vanilla

I think something that really needs to be explored is a possibility of adding a criminal faction - name it whatever - and then basically take the current Smuggler and Bounty Hunter classes and move them to those missions and create more immersive story missions for all the factions besides. This game, with the right life poured into it, could rival WOW.

For the "modern audience"? Say goodbye to Caucasian companions and get ready for the Dark Lord of the Zhim/Zhir.
Through about 10y in this game, I lost the count of how many alt characters I've made just to play main story again and then delete them. And making old locations relevant to the main character would help so much. Even just having a greeting or a new sentence from NPCs back in Korriban and Dromund Kaas would mean so much for immersion of main character.
making the game more difficult would increase the fun and the need for multiplayer.

I noticed these new textures with Ossuss first, i love how pretty that planet looks!

Sounds awesome I hope they do all the stuff you suggested, and I still think more character customization is better, I’d love it if I could have style without having to hid my characters face, but honestly its fine I’ll just be a mando. I’d love it if they made it more a third person shooter and also to explore in 1st person while being able to look down and see my body and armor set
haven't played years, but a huge issue i saw when i played was inflation causing the auction house prices to go so high that f2p became unviable. when i started playing i was able to buy most of the account boosts so that i was practically a preferred player, but by the end of my time (lvl 50'd 8 characters); the prices were so high, it wasn't worth it for players to even sell the account boost items at prices that f2p accounts could buy them (200k credit wallet cap)
if they added in more credit sinks to counter inflation or increased wallet size for f2p then i could stop telling my friends "it's not worth playing unless you're paying"
I know it's a lot of work, but I really hope they fix the cape clipping/physics. I often avoid capes just because they look weird on most mounts
yea i hate how one of my CC bought cloak armor sets start clipping ALL the time when camera cuts in cutscenes
I am loving the modernization and welcome more of it. I just hope they also remaster the old armor that came with the game like valiant jedi, eradicator, havoc squad, etc. Meanwhile I am hoping they remove Reaver and add a proper Marr armor with the same dyes as the NPC.
Great video. Appreciate the mass effect music in the background. Subbed.
Thank you 🙏
I would love to see more races added to the mix.

Etc. The devs can do a lot with the years and years of content here but they have to streamline it for people coming into it fresh/nearly fresh.
og Ravage animation even tho we werent able to move while it went should come back!!
Thing is I loved this game I'm glad they are trying to keep it up to date in graphics wise
Nice Mass Effect music in the background.
Day night cycle would be awesome, imagine tattooine at night fighting sand people
I actually think ESO is going through a similar process as this year they've released updates for the base game (something that hasn't happened in years). Also in an entirely different genre the truck sim games American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 are currently going through updates that improve the oldest parts of the game.
Wow glad I am starting back, my only wish is that they would make the character customization free like wow.
I have been playing this game since its release. I played with my dad on release day and I've taken a few breaks from it over the years, but I played it just last week for a few hours. When I start hyperfocusing on Star Wars, which happens every few months, I play this game because it does the best job of feeling like Star Wars than most other games. I wish they would make a #2 with updated everything, but if they don't, I'll still continue to play for years to come
Thats awesome. Now im going to have jump back in just to see this for myself lol. Great video, and yes day/night cycle would be awesome to see.
Thank you! The next update in December will bring these improvements to the live server!
I agree. Right now, most of the planets feel way too small and way too one note. Some new areas to explore with a bit of variety would be awesome.
Hopefully they'll add better Ambient Occlusion, RT, and TSAA support sooner rather than later.
Korriban looks sick!
