Hey @milktoothnu big fan of your videos and bigger fan of your store. You have a large pool of knowledge and experience that pairs well with the style of your videos. The cuts you had in this video that were more cropped in with a lot of kinetic activity, like rifling through the switches. Really liked the way they changed up the pace, compared to what you normally see in a keeb video (reminds me of ants working in a colony or like a beehive). Super refreshing and cool to see the switch up. Layer these elements over your established tone and style and you get this super engaging visual documentary piece about a keyboard switch. Love it man.
Glad I found your channel and shop, made the process of testing and selecting a new switch to go with for my Halo65 much easier in this saturated and overwhelming switch market! When I first got into keyboards, Cherry was pretty much the only switch out there besides a few clones, I've been typing on MX Clears for over 7 years now so trying out some of the newer stuff that's come out more recently has been a fun experience. Just bought Gateron Quinns from your shop after trying and comparing a half dozen other tactile switches. Their tactility, sound, and feel are just fantastic for me, perfect for a heavy typist who uses a keyboard all day to code, and then game after work. U4Ts came in close second. Tried some heavier Aliaz tactile silents too and just came away feeling that the lack of clacky/thocky sound was taking away a large part of the satisfaction of typing on a mech keyboard for me, but I'm sure they're perfect for an office environment.
Dived deep into silent tactiles and tested many of them. My top 2 options are TTC Silent Bluish White and Outemu Silent Cream Jade (V3 version of Cream Yellow). But i want a lighter bottom out, so I swapped springs to 40g for every option. In my opinion TTC has good long 2-stage spring, but too heavy in bottomout for me, and Outemu Jade has very strange short spring (it is too heavy and lacks snappy bottom out).
@@alperyay Bluish white’s bump was also too strong for my taste, so was the bottom out. That’s why I prefer Outemu Jade: I swapped springs with lighter ones: 45g long springs, and now I’m happy with this setup.
I've tried the Outemu Lime, and TTC Silent Bluish White switches I liked the feel and silence of the Outemu Lime switches, but I'm currently using the Bluish White because the Lime switches were very difficult to open
Your vids are awesome and my go-to when choosing switches. I'd advise using a highpass filter on your audio files though at 70 or 80Hz or better Mic-isolation from your desk. With bass intense headphones in a crouded setting, most of what you're hearing is intense booming when you crank up the volume.
I think the Bluish Whites are still a little too heavy. I think I saw someone on Reddit compare them to the Outemu Limes, where the Bluish Whites have like a "D" bump, where the Outemu Limes have a "þ" bump. Usually I use the linears TTC Frozen Silents or whatever they're called, and I extremely recommend those.
Definitely looking forward to checking out more silent switches once the at home tests are available again. I tried out about a dozen different ones a while ago and just couldn't get into it
the haimu whispers have the same silencing mechanism as the ws silent tactiles. in my experience it works well on the downstroke but not the upstroke. its ok on 1u keys but on bigger ones the noise is annoying.
Yeah that’s why I don’t use them. Plus they have a boatload of leaf ping. It’s not silent on the top out because it’s plastic on plastic colliding really fast when you release the key versus pressing on it. If you manually lube the top housing/top rails it sounds quieter but still aren’t quiet enough to me compared to traditional silents,
@@jumplify yes i completely forgot to mention the leaf ping. though to be honest the boba u4, my favourite silent switch so far, has a lot of leaf ping too, at least on some units.
I tried mor than 12 silent switches, my favorite ones are the TTC Blueish White and WS Silent Tactile because they feel not padded or muted, the travel distance is very satisfying. If you prefer a heavier feel go with the WS Silent tactile, if you prefer a light bump go with the blueish white. The sound is not much different if you work in a normal office with a lot of PC& poron foam build, which I'd recommend over a no foam, alu plate.
I think the lines are amazing after lubing the springs because they have some really minor spring noises. After lubing they are more silent than a membrane keyboard in most builds
Limes are really cool switches, but I noticed that tactile bump is closer to 1mm similar to TTC Silent Brown V2. I prefer the bump to be closer to top, at 0.5-0.7 mm, like on TTC Silent Bluish White or Outemu Cream Yellow/Jade. So, maybe you’ll like Cream Yellow/Jade more too 😊 Worth trying)
I’m using the Lichicx Raws light tactile. They’re a little louder than others, but not as much as the Silent Bluish Whites. I like them a lot. Moved from the Boba U4 out of boredom.
The Outemu Lime switches go one level up after treatment in a switch break-in machine. I just finished the 35 I have and I am waiting on an order for another 70.
@@kinglanky2424the tactile bump is enough resistance for me at least. It’s a tiny short tactile bump that hits about 50 grams. Unless you’re very heavy handed, probably not an issue
Although its not tactile, the akko fairy is more silent than the penguins. Maybe even more silent than all of these switches. (Btw they're linear switches)
Silent tactiles and you open with something that sounds louder than my holy bobas? 👅 I do lean towards silents but atm i have it all silent short of the sound from my stems hitting the top of the switch housings (topping out?? lol) It definitely has a fun little distinction to it that feels kinda fresh too. Also using a few of the u4 stems as well for my rhythm game keys to reduce the clacky 2 finger spam sound in Osu! and other rhythm games. May opt for over lubing the silent stems to make them feel like linears. Im also shopping around for a fun but quiet if not silent linear already too.
as a newbie, i wished i knew about the 2 plastic things sticking out on the bottom of most switches before i got my akko. now sure if it's worth cutting them. My cheap keyboard default switches don't have those plastic parts and the keyboard don't have 2 holes on the pcb below to accommodate

silents tactiles are some of my favorite switches of all time, theyre so soft and pillowey

Wow. We are so in sync

love when you post! Limes for life. Picked up my limes from Milktooth too.
Dude, where is Outemu Silent Yellow Jade, or at least Silent cream yellow?
Penguin are the best at silence as I hear of the video. Thanks

I use limes, love them, my hands are not fatigued even playing fps games for 6+ hours. and i dont wake up my mother and sister at night
i use linear silent peach whicj are great but would like some tactility. Are lime also smooth and where is bumb at start or in the middle?
I tried Honey Peach & Lemon Lime
Lemon Lime better
Penguin gang 🐧
Thanks for your Akko video! You got me to order some from you
Penguin are the best.
Cheaper doesn't mean worse.
Idk how to explain it but the penguins actually have me thinking of the noise of penguins walking

I really wish the sound tests were a bit longer, and have tapping on the space bar as part of the test.
milkthooth posted a video today. today is a good day.
thanks to your videos I got the lime and they are great, perfect for my office keyboard, i hope you also do a silent linear also, thanks milktooth

The wuque silent tactiles are awesome switches.
Any chance milktooth will have shipping to canada anytime soon? Would love to support you!!
We do international shipments on an ad hoc basis. DM us using the chatbox on the site to get started.
On the topic of silent switch, what in your opinion, the best budget silent linear switch?
Excellent review !
outemo lime V2 or V3? what is the difference on your store you are selling V3 the one in video is V2
The Outemu Lime switches go one level up after treatment in a switch break-in machine. I just finished the 35 I have and I am waiting on an order for another 70.
Is the 35g actuation very light? To the point of constant accidental key presses?

Kailh Box Silent Pro , what can you say about them, how do they compare to the video?
Although its not tactile, the akko fairy is more silent than the penguins. Maybe even more silent than all of these switches. (Btw they're linear switches)
How do the ttc silent bluish whites compare with gateron mini i’s and baby kangaroos?
I presume that ttc sliebt switches support smd leds since its 3 pins? Usually most 3 pin switches do support them
Yep. There's a slot for them.
NEW VIDEO LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Love your vids. Thanks
No Gazzew U4Tx?? D:
Got the outemu lime - these are so scratchy you can even hear it. Like no other switch or keyboard i ever tried.

Thoughts on Pegasus?
Can anyone say if Silent Bluish Whites require lubing? I'll be recieving mine soon, and I want to know whether to prepare mentally or not.
They're very smooth, no need for lube 👍
if you wanna a full silent, buy alpaca silent
maybe add international shipping sometime?
yall gotta start shipping to canada i would spend a killing

What is the heaviest silent keyboard? I like the aftermarket 150g springs.
What kind of frame are you doing the soundtests on? Aluminum or plastic? Any mods?
Frame is Aluminum as shown in the video
@@TheDeadb3ar my bad, thanks!

the likes 777 so im lucky one?
damper not dampener. To dampen something is to make it moist.
Our clothes are wet but yours are damper than mine.
Dampen does not only mean "to make moist"
Dampen can also be related to sound.
