- Episode 289 - This week I test out a brand new backpack from a company called Groundtruth. The main reasons why I chose this company and this product, are because this is a company that cares about the environment. Unbelievably, this backpack is made entirely from 100% recycled products!

Ay up! Just come across your channel having bought my lad a Dr Otek kids detector for his birthday. We're in Matlock and he's dead inpressed seeing you visiting local places. He's loving it at the moment, don't think I've ever seen him so excited about a hobby!
We're working on permission to detect some local fields rather than my garden though!

Good to see you back Gareth. I bought a full leather Military messenger Uber bag for £5 from a charity shop. Absolute bargain. I can fit all my detecting stuff in it.

That backpack looks very nice.. but when I saw the price 😬
It's not cheap.
I use the xp (big) backpack.. its a bit clunky but fits everything into it (including the detector and spade attached) and has been out on every dig with me since I've had it.. no problems at all..

Great to see you out detecting again and still plenty of finds on well detected land. We are not sure the backpack will be for everyone at the eye watering price of £290 for the "Ultimate Backpack" which is the same price as some detectors, but it looks a good functional product. Shame they don't do a special seat backpack to hang on the back of the seat for powerchairs and wheelchairs, but alas, if they did it would probably come in at the price of a Deus 2 Lite 🤣🤣🤣🤣 All the best Wendy and Jon 🙂🙂🙂🙂

Hi Gareth, good to see you out and about. That’s a nice backpack looks very well made with lots of features. Your ground is sure nice and easy to dig and green. It cooled off today but it is still 102° unlike Saturday where it was 113°. Thanks for the video you do a great job on them.

Hi mate , nice day for it and a few finds for your trouble sadly no silver but hey ho a great day to be out in the fresh air and wonderful countryside , as for the bag it looks ok and granted it is 100% recycled but i dont think the look or the functionality warrants the £ 290 price tag you could get the same size Berghaus ( top quality ) for less than that but anyway apart from the bag another top video mate nice one ATB Rob
