You could make a one ended version with a single bottle and potentially get double by setting up your two traps in two different spots. I also think you might want to keep the trap there for less time for a better yield of minnows. While crayfish definitely have a harder time escaping as they cannot orient themselves as well to exit the bottle at such an angle, in my experience fish will usually find their way out if you give them enough time (I’ve seen some fish do it in under two minutes of finding the food. Nibble and dip.)
@@HolahkuTaigiTWFormosanDiplomat my personal experience is that as long as you have a good place to throw the trap, enough bait should find your trap anyway that how well the smell travels doesn’t really impact performance too much.
Great old trick. For bigger critters, the large cranberry juice bottle with a larger opening work great, and it's like you said, just a flip of the top. You got me all fired up to head into the woods to catch some now.
@georgea6403 lol, well, there's other ways of getting those critters. In all honesty though, if you have a tactic with that, you should share it. I may be laughing, but iv been suprised by some crazy woodsman as to what can be done with a simple tin can and wire.
my friend and I used to make these type of bait traps way back when we was young. only difference is we only did the one end open for more interior space. we would poke small holes on one closed end to allow water to come in and add a couple 2-3 small rocks to help it sink faster.
Well that blew my mind. I had no idea it was that easy. My husband will love this trick! It's amazing what you can do with an old bottle. I once made a mouse trap using a bottle, paperclip, string, and rubber bands. I used an Oreo for bait and literally caught the mouse in less than 5 minutes after setting it. Because, you know, if you give a mouse a cookie....

Only pop bottles
Pop bottles exclusively

thank you for the tip brother!
Very cool!
Okay, Crawfish Jambalaya for dinner tonight!
❤🦐🥘👍
I cannot wait to try this. I always take a fishing pole where ever I go. I do not drink sodas but that is a cheap way to make a trap! Thanks
Would you ever consider making a video on how to clean your caught crayfish, or how you prepare the crayfish for a meal?
At first I thought you pulled a turtle on a string but then I saw it was the trap 😂
Mr teslonian had a crayfish aquaponics set up. This would be a good way to catch some to start one.
I just do that with 1 bottle. Good fly trap too! I also make lawn sprinklers with those!

Thank you so much for the information. 👍🏻
I'm definitely trying this!!!!
in our country the fishermen use it all the time but it's made out of bamboo stripes and it sizes to a stool

I'm going to try this. I make wasp traps with one bottle inverted lid . Duct tape. It works !
Bro you are a genius … you blow my mind every time thank you
use a third bottle cut on both sides to expand the middle if the creek is loaded
Now you need some 🌽 corns and Cajuns powder 😅😅😊
