Thanks for sharing, Simon! I can't agree more, it's a really great tent. I was on the WHW with the two person version and absolutely loved it. Easy and fast to pitch up and down in any condition. It withstood downpoor, hailstorms and really heavy galeforce winds in the Glencoe area. Other tents were blown away, Big agnes provided me with cosy and dry shelter for me and my gear. Dries up very fast and no problems with condensation.
    Worth every penny!
Edit: I recommend purchasing a few additional tent pegs for windy conditions. It's well worth it

How does the copper spur performs in wind in comparison to the Hubba?
I would expect it would perform quite the same because it has similar poles and a similar if not same pole structure as the hubba (and similar hight etc.).

    Hey man,
I’ve pretty much settled on getting some version of this tent. I’m 195cm tall as well and was wondering if I’d fit with a 10cm pad and a warm sleeping bag.
There is the Long version of the UL2 now, but that’s obviously heavier, more expensive and not green haha.
Do you have to sacrifice certain things in the UL1 (like head touching the inner tent, not sitting upright, touching the sides etc.)
I have a background in hammock camping and am therefore used to confined spaces. At the same time I am looking for a little more space and luxury. If the UL1 ends up being a compromise for weight that might not fit my needs.
    Cheers!

How did you find the waterproofness and abrasion resistance of the bathtub in Scotland, as it is not that heavy duty? Also did you look at their additional groundsheet, which allows the outer to be pitched first? A bit pricey - but adds flexibility.

@@SimonOutdoors Thanks for the feedback Simon.
Yes the BA Copper Spur is still top of my list, but I am tracking news on updates, pricing and improved availability.
For instance there is a new 'Long' version of the Copper Spur 2-man due out in a couple of months.
So if you are looking to switch to the UL2 that would be ideal for you...
      UL2 Reg Long
      RRP: $499 $529
      Length 224 244 cm
      Height 102 109 cm
      Width same
      Weight 1.22 1.30 Kg
      .
As for me, I may just wait until next spring - as I am thinking of heading over to the States next year to walk more of the PCT (first started in the 80's 😂). So that could save me a fair bit of money, shipping costs, and ensure I get the latest model...
