      @@Yourefavhoe for your information it's something called text-to-speech, it's also something called dictation. Doesn't matter though you don't have to believe me, no one has to believe me but I am totally blind go look at my channel. You'll see what I'm saying. try to educate yourself before you jump to conclusions, blind people are like anyone else they can use smartphones Etc just like anyone else can. Like I said you might want to go educate yourself, because accusing someone of faking something really isn't cool. go look up Android and go look up something called TalkBack. It's a screen reader that's only Android. Like I said educate yourself before jumping to conclusions, because jumping to conclusions, is like jumping off a bridge. Doesn't exactly work.. not saying this to be rude to anybody and I don't want trouble, but someone who accuses me of faking my blindness really isn't cool. as a matter of fact let me make this a little easier on you shall I? I'm going to go get you a link to a video that I posted about how to use a smartphone as a blind person, listen to it. There is no picture because well blind people doing a video isn't exactly a good idea, however, use your listening ears and you'll see how it works. Here is the link. Thank you and have a wonderful day.ua-cam.com/video/igoMTaqNzwk/v-deo.html

I want to get one too but I don't know which one. What should the price be like, are the simple ones from amazon alright (Stagg, Hohner, ... for around 20-60€) , which one do you use? What are the advantages of more expensive instruments and what can I not do with the cheaper ones? I play the piano and some more instruments so I don't think I'll need too long to get into it.

    I find more comfortable to form an embouchure by puckering my lips and do not let the mouthpiece touching my teeth. Is there anything wrong with that? There is no air escape and I get a better tone this way. Moreover I use the hand strap in a different way as you, with my left hand semi-closed, with my fingers bent and the outer part of my phalanxes touching the back of the melodica. I keep the melodica almost vertically, just like a recorder. Is there anything wrong with that too?

      using it more like a clarinet or saxophone- easier to walk around while playing it that way. • @AlexisBabayan
      @AlexisBabayan 2 роки тому

      It can do multiple notes at once, but because you have to power it with your breath, it becomes more challenging the more notes that you want to play at once. I just got my melodica, and I've found that it's harder to get a good loud tone when playing a chord than when playing a single note. One or two notes at once are easy, three notes a bit harder, four notes feels significantly harder for me to play.

      @@GIjoeFan1976 An interesting question. I play harmonicas that come with either brass, phosphor bronze or steel reeds. I think they all work well. Steel reeds Supposedly last longer. Phosphor bronze reeds sound brighter and louder, at least to many folks' ears. I believe brass reeds have been around the longest. There are also harmonicas that were made with plastic reeds, the Magnus brand.
      One of the things that can markedly change the tone of the reeds and the melodica is how well embossed the reed slots are. The reeds float/vibrate while suspended in a slot in the reed plate. That slot's gap may be tightened up by embossing. That means pushing a slot's metal closer to the reed, narrowing the gap. The result is a brighter tone and the reed is more responsive because less air is lost through the gap between reed and reed plate.
      There is another process called chamfering. That involves pressing a Reed's metal so that it narrows the aforementioned gap. It is the trickier of the two processes.

      I do know that it is possible to get some bends on melodica, used as ornamentations. I'm pretty sure they are not half or whole step bends like one may get on harmonicas. That suggests that, yes, you could hit quarter tones. That would mean that you have to know how to "blow bend" a reed. It is much the same action in the mouth as one uses on harmonicas when blow bending a reed's pitch Down. Stevie Wonder uses that ornamentation in his chromatic harmonica playing. Breath control is also key to getting that effect on melodicas. The breath should come from the diaphragm, you are "breathing" the note out while shaping and directing the back pressure a bit with your tongue at the same time. It also has much to do with the oral cavity you make in order to blow bend the pitch Down. It is NOT blowing harder, that only ruins reeds. If you can blow bend notes on holes 8-10 on the top end of a standard major tuned diatonic harmonica, you can likely hit quarter tones on a melodica, too. Hope this helps. Peace.
