  • We recently made one of the flowerbeds by our front entry way larger, built a small retaining wall to fix a grading issue, and packed the garden bed full of plants! This video takes you through the entire growing season, and you can really see how a curb appeal makeover can really impact the feel of the space. Feel free to drop any questions you have in the comments below, and we appreciate you watching this video and giving it a thumbs up.

    👍🏼Well done Joshua n Jose!! The bees in your area, must be very busy pollinating all of those BEE-utiful flowers!!🐝
    That plan for extending the flower bed flows so well especially with the rock wall.

      These plants are covered with pollinators all day long, but our favorite are the Hummingbirds that have started visiting our garden. They love the fuchsia plants. We actually planted 5 more this year to help support them!

      Thank you so much! You're going to love "Blue My Mind" and they even have a new one this year called "Blue My Mind XL" which gets significantly larger than the regular one, and I've been told that it can keep up with the more vigorous plants when used in a container!

      Hi Michael, this is very helpful information, as we are contemplating moving to a more milder climate. Growing zones 7-8 are the sweet spot that we are looking at, as it opens the doors to other types of plants that we are interested in working with. It's encouraging to hear that we might be able to brings a few of our favorites up north with us and see them still do well. :)

    what do you think of ground cover thyme and cushion phlox? In my opinion that would be a nice conclusion to the newly made small wall. Settled there, they would grow over them and give a nice finish there for a long time due to the long flowering period.

    • @MrGardeners
      @MrGardeners  2 роки тому

      Those are great options! I'll have to look into them and see how they would do in the conditions of our growing zone.

    This is awesome! Where do you get all those Proven Winners? I just moved to Florida and of course priorities 😅 I need to start my gardens, but I haven’t found many Proven Winners in my area.

    • @MrGardeners
      @MrGardeners  11 місяців тому +1

      Thank you so much! We are fortunate to have several garden centers around us that carry Proven Winners. Additionally, we are also lucky to receive samples from Proven Winners to trial in our garden here in Tampa, FL. If you visit PW’s website, they have a tab called “Find a Retailer” that will provide you with a list of PW Certified Garden Centers, based on your zip code, that will carry PW plants for you! Hope this helps!

    Where can I find the divider that you have to keep the grass from the flower beds? I like the look of it rather then the black plastic dividers.

    What kind of flowers are the ones with purple color? … they die in winter time?

    • @MrGardeners
      @MrGardeners  11 місяців тому

      Hi! There are a few purple flowers in this video, but if you go back to the point in the video where we go over all of the plants, we put the plant tag on the screen for you :) what growing zone are you in? We are in 9b, so we don’t really have to worry about winters here, but some of these plants fizzle out late in the season when our summer heat arrives.
