  • In this video its time to get these spring flowerbeds in shape. We first start by weeding them and clearing out old tired plants. We then put in a good mix of plants that all support the same theme. Its important to design the beds with a matching theme, the correct height at full maturity and pay close attention to sunlight needed for each plant. We also show you the easiest way to install live edges in a new and modern style. Following these steps in your neighborhood will give your neighbors Yard Envy for sure. Dont forget to subscribe for new updates and videos. Thank you!

    Hmmm.. flower bed design game a little weak.. need more flowers for that bed size.. everyone has an opinion right.. like assholes.. everybody got one.. hahha..

      Yeah this is just the basic design. The flowers you choose to put in your flower bed is up to you 👍

    The only thing I would like to say about the mailbox… As a mail carrier in Kansas, the fewer flowers around the mailbox, the better. I don’t know how many times I’ve opened a mailbox that had flowers around it, and got stung by wasps. And the ants are a whole other story. But it sure does look pretty.
    A good tip to help keep them out if you do have flowers, or if you don’t, is to keep a bounce or dryer sheet of some sort in your mailbox and switch it out every couple weeks. Insects hate to nest in a mailbox with a dryer sheet.

    Just found your channel and this is all so helpful as a new homeowner! How do you maintain a live edge to keep it so clean looking?

    That looks really really good, love the live edge. I actually thought you had the Corona there for a second. For future mulch jobs get a pitchfork if you don’t have one, makes mulching enjoyable. Lawn looks awesome as well.

    I really appreciate you costing this project out. TY.
    The contours you designed are really attractive -- well done.
    I'm amazed at all the land you have there! I live in a condo dev (never, ever again), in a separate detached house, yet, it's still a condo. All the tiny amount of land around me is adjudicated by an amateur, insular HOA. Ignorant, very poor judgement, penny-wise, pound-foolish. The HOA is like having your home surrounds owned + controlled by the Communist Chinese Party (HOAs let power go to their heads).
    Tiny grass, no say over plantings, crappy, weed-clogged "lawn"...

    I’m a professional English gardener and that actually hurt me watch you do the mailbox like that. Now I have finished the video the live edge bed looks nice but the plants are way too close to the edge and it’s very plain with nothing else in

    • @YardEnvy
      @YardEnvy  4 роки тому +3

      Thanks, I planted 20 bulbs in the video. They just haven't sprouted yet. Once the dahlias bloom it will be full. The mailbox is a thing us southerners do in the south but thanks for your input.

    • @YardEnvy

      Also the plants around the edge are Aztec grass that are designed to go around the edges. I thought you was a professional? Lol

    Hey Bud, I came back to this video from earlier. I just got a garden spade and started the live edging...I can already tell this is going to be a game changer for my lawn. Even though grass is dormant I know it is going to add some curb appeal to my lawn. thanks for the advice.

    • @fan1.028
      @fan1.028 Рік тому

      Weed barrier fabric doesn't really stop weeds from growing in your flower beds. Using a pre emergent like Preen is the best way to prevent weeds.
