  • United Boeing 767-400 towing into position to pick up the Cleveland Browns playing the Oakland Raiders for December 2nd 2012 game. United has the plane towed on and off the ramp prior to engine start so that the jet blast doesn't destroy all the parked cars of the players who park inside the fence. The TLC channel was also onboard this flight filming the reality tv series of the Browns behind the scenes of travel logistics and football game logistics.

Listen to that amazing roar on takeoff! If you ask me, the Boeing 767-400ER is among the most underrated commercial planes of all time!

Next month I will ride on a 764 for the first time ever. Slightly excited. I've only rode on the 762 when USAirways and American flew them.

Just spoke to one of the media guys from the Browns. This plane has a config. of First Class in the front and rear (for the players) with Business Class config. in the middle.

The 767-400 looks similar to the 777-200

The 777 is considerably wider and longer. Can carry significantly more passengers. Has a strikingly more advanced avionics package. Is importantly more fuel efficient. And, is just all around obviously a better airliner and freighter. If you put them side by side you wouldn't say one looks like the other.

      BewareTheIdes it's not longer.
The 767-400 is 201 feet long, the 777-200 is 189

I'm in Salt Lake. I was thinking of connecting through Houston on my way to Newark just to catch a ride on this bad boy. 😎

They still make them and just got 100 orders for the 767 last year from FED-EX. As well as a large government contract for 500+ 767's to replace the aging troop transport/tanker fleet in the US Air Force. They will be flying for many decades to come. The only thing is, in the commercial space, one can only get the freighter variant not the passenger version. They stopped that line a few years ago since the 787 replaced that class of passenger aircraft. If they got a large enough order for a passenger version say 100 or more they would probably retool the line but, that won't happen. Since the long term fuel savings over the 767 with the 787 will level the initial cost differential within a decade.

Most airlines were disheartened by all the problems the 787 has (and how many pilots are refusing to fly them) so many are having Boeing or other companies rebuild their existing 767-300ER & 400ER fleet, so they can get another 15-20 years of service out of them...
The 767 is a SIGNIFICANTLY better airplane than the 787 NightmareLiner, and a bigger one...

    Lol random Beechcraft.

    • @SuperMarioMustang

The one they were pulling by hand in the first half of the video? That's a Glasair. Beechcraft has never made a plane that small ever in the history of Beechcraft aircraft production. The reason I know it's a Glasair is because I typed the tail number into google to track it, and that is what the aircraft was listed as on all websites. So I looked at the Glasair website. And it's the same thing shown.

    Thats actually is a 777-200 not a 767-400

    • @thomasjsanford6296
      @thomasjsanford6296 7 років тому +1

No.. The 777 has a 4th set of landing gear, mid-belly, and just aft of the wings, as it's significantly bigger & heavier than a 767....

I believe your right. I thought that looked like a 777 but I guess it is a 767.

Yep, its a 767-400. My husband is a United 767 Captain and this is the plane he flies.
