Those companies that have that "The customer is always right" policy, they might want to rethink it...
You may be a nice person generous to a fault, but these nasty entitled people will basically make you break character. Even as an employee you have to know when to be vigilant

    • @Tazza81
      @Tazza81 2 роки тому +10

The problem is that people misunderstand what "The customer is always right" actually means. It doesn't mean that people should kowtow down to their customers. It means the customer knows what they want and thats that, nothing more. You don't have to give the customer what they want.

The only worker I got pissed with is the ticket inspector. I'd parked for 2 minutes without paying for a ticket, to drop off a care package at a hospital in the city (there were no short-term parks anywhere in the vicinity). Whether it's irrational or not my blood boiled and all I could think about is what a nasty job they have, making people miserable every day.
I told him my situation and he responded with 'I don't care, just doing my job'. I wanted to push him over but I didn't. I told him to get 'f*****' and that he had a rubbish job and drove off.

Anyone who has ever worked in any form of customer service knows that you might deal with hundreds of customers each day, but it takes just one person to completely ruin your day.

Oh boy I know. As a bus driver you get the usual...."you not happy at your work?" I was happy....until I looked at you lot. Then you get the classic...."if you can't deal with people then go and get a real job". They try to break your good nature every day, and then ask you why you don't smile.

  • @OfficialAshArcher

We have enabled this sort of behaviour towards workers as a society. With rubbish like “the customer is always right” making customers increasingly entitled, and not holding people to account when they do treat people like crap because “they’re having it tough” or “have mental illness”.
There is NEVER an excuse to treat people doing their jobs like garbage or put their safety at risk, and the only thing that will fix it is harsher penalties and criminal charges for people that do this sort of thing.

When the pandemic hit in 2020 it was all the NHS doctors and nurses who got praised and every silly bugger clapped them (I never did) but they all forgot who got them to their precious hospital....us bus drivers, and we didn't get praised, no one clapped us and more importantly we didn't get to the front of the supermarket queues. "Yt kids" lol
Yeah, at 11, try not to think about this stuff too deeply yet, it will start to make more sense. There are sometimes other kids, maybe even around your age, who maybe grew up with violence in their home or with poverty (not much money and food and things). And it's harder for those people to be patient sometimes, especially if they are hungry or worried/scared about other stuff too, everyone is somewhere on that scale sometimes, it gets hard for all of us to be good but we all have to try!
Some people out there have a harder time with it than others, you shouldn't be afraid for your mother. Everywhere we go, there are people who might be upset and negative, but we still must go out into the world and explore and work and learn and try to make the world better overall, even if it can be scary. Usually, with a little courage, it isn't so bad. Your mother must be a clever woman, she knows what to do out there, you'll figure it out when you start working in a few years! That's what video games and stuff are for right now, though. Go out and be strong.

Two people in this clip deserved their speay. 1) Parking Inspextor - fleecing money from hardworkers so governmemts can pay themselves more.
    2) Nursing Home Workers - some of them are completely insensitive and rude to you even if your mother/father is in pallative care and has 1 week to live, They dont give a stuff.

The last few comments are valid but having worked in environments where I’ve been subjected to the same kind of behaviour, don’t just focus on that lady’s situation. There are many places where this happens and here in the UK nobody cares. Not even your employer. It seems it’s an acknowledged part of the job, but if it happens just get on with it, like my friend who was beaten up. He went to see our manager and got no support. Then told to get on with his shift.

Yeah right that is the general response you would get from a "frustrated" customer.
As well as other the responses you see in these ads, too mild. And yes, it is too mild in comparision to what really goes on. That's why a majority of people don't take these ads seriously, they are out of touch. The average person has faced more intense, threatening people than these fools. You want to shock tactics to raise awareness about workplace violence, use shock tactics.
Good intentions, good method poorly executed.

@@worthlessnaebody4458 i think if the ad was more violent i think it wouldn't relate to the average asshole that does things like this, by increasing the violence (while it may or may not be more realistic) of what the people are doing, only allows people that've done things like this before to disassociate from the message, it allows them to tell themselves "i'm not THAT bad, what i'm doing/done is okay" and gives them the a false sense of reassurance, that this ad doesn't target them which then would prevent change. think about it, you put a man that's just stolen a car, next to a serial killer and the thief feels less guilty, while in reality he's still completely in the wrong.

Fair point. I only say what I say because I've seen and heard of worse things than this in Australia in many workplaces, not my own but others. (Hospitals, police stations, warehouses, loading docks for example.)

Your company "policies" shouldn't supercede reasonable customer expectations or request, If they do then you should absolutely expect to be assaulted and rightfully so.
There is too much poor work ethic and too many negligent workers in Australia, Too many worker errors because "were only human" when in reality they're just lazy, Australians need to ditch the piss poor "yea, she'll be right" demeanor most Australians have and do your job right the first time everytime, period.
Customers are not angry for no reason.
PS in regards to the ticket clip, If you work in an industry writing tickets don't expect friendly interactions with the people you write up, you dont deserve respect.
