- I know I'm late with this kind of video. I had this idea for a long time and I finally made it.
This guide has a lot of basic freelancer tips and tricks and I think it can help people who are starting freelancer mode and are struggling with completing campaign.
Guide is not exhaustive. I included only what I considered important and worth mentioning.
Credit to @SwimmingCarcass. I learned some of the tricks from watching his streams: / swimmingcarcass

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... - spreadsheet mentioned in the video. Contains list of the items and their locations, that you can bring to safehouse from the mission. I don't know who is author of the table, I'd credit if I knew.

Man, I can't even believe a game like Hitman exists. An AAA game focused on gameplay instead of story or prenttation. Freelancer caused me having over 800hrs in the game, the most played game I ever did aside from Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. If there's one company that doesn't have to fear From Software, it's IOI. Complete badasses. This is what true AAA gaming is like in 2023.
True, Hitman 3 still got that AAA monetization though with some of that DLC haha
Hitman is among the few PlayStation games I play
Yes freelancer is the best.
Another useful tip: if you think you messed up on any mission even on the syndicate showdowns, you can pause the game but don’t exit to the main menu, but exit the application on the console and restart the game and do the mission again without failing the campaign especially on alerted territories.
That is no-longer viable, They updated it so you now fail the campaign.
@@ScaroBloodblade That's very weird because, although shamefully, if I have any kind of loot that I really really really don't want to lose, I just ALT+F4 and I can go back in and it's as if I didn't even try. And I've done that in hardcore too to test it out.
The actual thing that i learned from the video is that you can shoot the crates in Sgail. The more you know!
Been playing the game for ages and didn’t know you could do that!
I never get sgail as a location, please help I have been playing for months
And I always get ambrose island my least fav map
I wasted so much time trying to find a crowbar and left so many unopened. 🤦
Knowing is half the battle!
I'd like to share something I learned the hard way recently.
Lookouts can also be guards. And if you're caught trespassing by one, you're screwed.
You can't run out of sight to avoid suspicion turning into compromise, because running away when caught trespassing by a guard also compromises you. The only choice you have if you don't want the lookout to screech is to take them out and then deal with the ramifications of doing it right there, instead of silently. And since it's likely gonna be loud, you better pray there's no assassins or other lookouts nearby when it happens.
RIP that hardcore run.
Use hideouts, they are everywhere ,when heat comes off just change outfit and continue with objectives, most important dont panic but improvise😁✌️
I have like more 400h in freelancer specifically and saw lot of vids "tips & tricks". But this vid only was most valuable. I've learnt a lot from this one. Thanks!
Wow, this is actually comprehensive and on point, almost nothing to add😅.
Well, maybe a few minor tips: safehouse has a ton of free useful items (all 3 poisons, a remote explosive with ZERO weight, rusty nails, coins...);
this tactic is old as hills, but often overlooked: guards can be easily manipulated into secluded spots by dropping guns & suitcases for 'em. Also very useful when you let civilians see the firearm, then bring a guard for you in that spot.
I know you can get emetic/lethal poison from the safehouse mushroom, but where do you get sedative poison?
@@Glitcher2000 you need to catch a fish and gut it in the kitchen. RNG is a pain in the ass though.
@@Leo-ym5xn No shit. Last time I tried fishing, I ended up catching SIX logs in a row. Has that ever happened to you?
@@Glitcher2000 every freaking time xD imo, they could've done so much more about fishing. Like, adding more useful items other then logs and rusty crowbars, or ability to throw a coin\meaty bone\etc for an increased chance of catching something specific
where to get coin?
Awesome video. I learned a lot, thank you
Great tips, keep up the good work GenP - Thanks
Amazing. Thank you!
I can’t explain the feeling of failing a freelancer mission , the pain of loosing currency after going in with a plan and getting caught in the various ways you can. It really suck especially loosing good weapons but I digress , today I have a fresh camping to tackle so I’m hear for information and locations
Good video. Informative and precise.
Pretty neat tricks, thanks 👍
Your video has been one of the most helpful Ive seen so far. Learned some neat tips here. Thankyou.
I'm glad to hear it. You are welcome!
I get so frustrated. Thanks for making this, very useful.
you can also abuse the campaign crate to get a weapon and mercers after prestige, especially after 4th syndicate. prestige -> open crate -> get legendary baller/knife/SR and 30k
So you complete the syndicate with a prestige objective then you open the crate to get legendary itens?,or you get a prestige objective after you complete then you open the crate to get the itens?,damn I felt my brain coming out from my nose now 😂
The reward from the last syndicate is a legendary, no need for prestige objectives or anything. @@shadowagent6051
@@shadowagent6051 i think what he meant was, after you finished the last showdown, dont open the crate but press prestige, after you lose all your weapons and your items, you go and open the crate and with any luck you will get a legendary weapon
@@LuisNazario9 yup, exactly
Very nice video man! 👍
Thank you KkennyZ!
This is by for the best guide for freelancer I have found I have been having a lot of trouble with freelancer so this will definitely help.
I LOVED this video. Would you consider making one for hardcore difficulty?
I am procrasting doing hardcore for as long as I can.
This is super useful. All the free items are on maps i usually skip except New York 😂 but my weapon locker is full so i don’t mind that.
I should also mention, you get large sums of money when you get all the weapons. So you’ll want to try and get all common weapons first, then rare, then so on and so on since you get lots of money after a simple beginner syndicate leader.
great stuff thanks so much
You are welcome!
This guy is the best
Sbasibo for the tips they are very helpful ❤
Nice video
Does the spreadsheet have Hitman 3 locations? I can’t seem to see them. Thanks for the awesome video and tips
Yes, H3 locations are there. It's just, there are not many items on H3 maps.
Avoids maps like Colorado, because everyone carries a gun. Getting past the first guard can be difficult as there may be another nearby.
Marrakesh would be 50/50 because you might start off in the middle of the school/army base. I had to hide in the alleyway, picking off one by one until coast is clear, sometimes they use flashbangs.
12:28 For some reason, whenever I try to do this, I instantly get compromised, due to some NPC seeing me from like a million miles away or because they have literal Xray vision. 💀
Useful tips, I'm at lvl 96 in the safehouse and trying to finish challenges at the moment. Do you have any tips or ideas on poison kills/pills kills? I have only one kill with them after like 200 hours because a situation the syndicate member (let alone a leader) is eating or drinking is so rare. I got my pills target on Bangkok, the target you lured at 12:49.
If I'm not mistaken you can kill same leader/target multiple times using alt-f4. It will count towards the challenge.
If you don't want alt-f4 scamming, then you just need to be patient and wait for opportunity to complete this challenge through the time.
@@GenP Patience it is then, with the top dog challenge always looming may as well take the long approach.
Are you able to do a video on Haikado SASO freelancer showdown?
Every showdown is different. Even if I do one SASO showdown in Hokkaido and upload it, it won't help anyone I'm afraid. As a general advice, I recommend to do SASO showdowns on the maps like Miami, Haven Island, Dubai, Berlin, Mendoza or any maps you know very well.
👍
I have a question. Do we keep our normal mode inventory after changing to hardcore and changing back to normal mode?
When you switch between normal and hardcore, you lose freelancer tools (items in the boxes). You keep all the weapons/items on the walls.
@GenP Tok thanks a lot. I wanted to change to hardcore but I was worried that all of my effort on normal mode would be gone. Does the same thing apply to changing back to hardcore too?
@@yaqp20 Yes, it's same, you only lose freelancer tools.
@@GenP Thanks a lot man. appretiate it
Can't figure out how to do it
@GenP Just so you know the vault is now unable to be looted since an update which also fazed out Alt+F4 if you messed up, Your video is a little outdated since these updates were released before your video was released.
If you mean vault in NY, it was nerfed in may 2023 patch, but you can still loot money from there. Amount of money is less though, but still a good option at the start of prestige. Alt-F4 works, I use it all the time when I do speedruns to avoid losing my weapons. There was one patch when they removed Alt-F4 but then they reverted the change.
Everything in this video was relevant at the time of publication because I recorded it and made it in one week before posting.
I'm Freelancer level 92
Idk man.. this modes cool but ass at the same time. A LOT of missions my targets literally sit in one spot and only one spot, surrounded by multiple people. Theres zero way i can kill them without being seen.
I disagree with doing a showdown on Whittleton Creek. Whittleton is one of the WORST maps for a showdown, because the suspects always wander between the Nolan, Janus and West properties, which each have exclusive disguises to avoid trespassing. You'll spend most of your time running around switching disguises just to catch up with whoever you're tailing. Haven Island is probably the best map for a showdown, because it's wide enough to avoid lookouts and has plenty of bushes to take a Sieker shot. I also disagree with abusing remote explosives. That's a sloppy way of playing that often has guards and enforcers running around unpredictably. Prioritze accident or poison kills to keep things clean.
There are some other useful tricks you failed to mention. Like placing a gun to get rid of an obsctructing guard or assassin for a long time. The tranquilizer gun trick is also notable. And if anyone comes investigating a noisy takedown you created, you can interrupt them by dropping a legal item in front of them. And the most useful trick you ignored: Using a pause buffer to shoot a door open with a silenced pistol. That's saved my ass more times than I can count.
Most people can't mud shoot doors, it's not an easy thing to learn. I just learned recently how to even do it yet I still haven't been able to get a door open with it yet. Probably easier to do on PC I dunno.
@@jimmypeeps8471 Seriously? Mudshots are one of the easiest tricks in the game. The timing is lenient and there's no penalty if you miss like the tranquilizer glitch. A vital tool for freelancing with no lockpick or keycard.
Bruh. please go do an english course, I beg you!. This is painful!
If you rip out your nervous system you won't feel any pain anymore, hope this helps!
@@bolm-us6yb 😘
Nice tips but ffs i can barely understand your mumbling. Your accent is too thick. I missed some parts because it sounded like gibberish.
But the rest of the content is good.
omg so true he should just not do that accent i dont understand why someone would do that
@@bolm-us6yb You can't just turn off an accent you can only learn how to speak the other language better lmao. What an odd statement. How many languages do you speak FLUENTLY? Yeah that's what I thought, lol get real!
