Its definitely an interesting idea, though the lag and the noise as you mentioned makes it quite impractical. Still good work on playing the creator song!
Thanks! The noise is actually not that bad if you can get far enough away from the pistons like I did in the creator video. However the lag definitely still makes it very impractical.
@@loganleu3651 hm just idea of the top of my head since I don't deal with redstone or Minecraft code all that much but what about reducing the render distance and Incase that breaks it then just building some chunk loaders to keep the redstone going?
@@Keriomas I have tried reducing render distance which does break it, however I haven’t tried chunk loaders yet. I’ve never used chunk loaders before so I’m not familiar with how they work. I’ll do some research and test it out.
Ok, so I've done a bit of testing and while chunk loaders seem to help, it's unfortunately still too laggy. The game is running significantly smoother, however the pistons are still moving too slowly and inconsistently. I have a feeling the game just can't handle that many blocks moving at the same time.
@@loganleu3651 hm interesting, I suppose a powerful enough machine with enough optimization mods might make this somewhat viable, but at that point your locked behind hardware requirements. Well I suppose the only thing left to try are optimization mods, but if that's still not enough then it just means that this system can't be practically run, still it is interesting, perhaps in the future some new idea, update or method can modify the system/make it run smoothly enough for it to be usable.
