Idea for ya from a loyal subscriber- NOBODY has a step by step guide to changing a rear gear size in a GM 12 bolt. I've been on forums and a ton of people are scared to take it on. FYI :)
Nicely filmed video 👍 my Oldsmobile 12 bolt O rear does not have a full plug like your Chevy rear... It only has the nylon vent plug. What is your recommendation for fluid capacity?
Thank you! It has to have a fill plug somewhere. Look all around the front and use a screwdriver to kinda poke around. It might be caked in grease and super tough to see. Thanks for watching!
Very good video. Clear, easy to follow and helpful experience being shared. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Put a couple start bolts in before applying. It will keep the gasket from slipping around.
Probably a dumb question but I don’t put trans fluid in the dif? And should put that oil?

Great! Thank you so much for watching and subbing! That's a great idea and I'll put it on the list!
@@2carpros I successfully built a 496 using your big block series. Changing a rear gear would be awesome knowledge as well.
@@designsinorbit That is amazing and warms my heart! Thank you for telling me that! And thank you for watching!
Yeah totally!
I got a question. Are the widths different between all the 1968-1972 GM car 10 or 12 bolt rears?

BOP are different than Chevy
So, two or three bottles?
Do you know what is for the upper hole?, the one with a white cap (over the filling hole).
That is a vent for the differential case. Thanks for watching!
if using the rtv, why not just eliminate the gasket altogether?
Like I said some people do. I have always just liked using both. Thanks for watching!
