    I really like the soda bottle! Put eyebolt through lid and pour through the bottle and glue that back after dry and won't scratch boat up at all.

    Bradley I've used Vienna sausage cans for concrete molds for limb line weights and they worked great also I've used potted meat cans.

    I make the same thing, buddy. And also I have a friend that works on the railroad. I get them flat iron. That's got the 4 h*** that go under the track on top of the railroad tie, they work real good.

    On the limb line weights I think the concrete would be abrasive on the line weakening it. You could maybe put a straw in the center to achieve a smoothe nonabrasive center. I fish a slow running river so I don't use weights on limb lines running my bait about 10 to 14 inches below the surface. I think this produces a more aggressive bite. The bait can swim about a 2ft circle.

      I don't doubt more bites without weight. I just have ours made up that way because we end up in current. You could put a plastic core in center like straw over the nail, but I didn't think of that. That's first ones I've made. I don't think it's really gonna be abrasive enough to matter. Big question on is will they hold together long term. We will test them for sure in future videos. We give honest opinion on whether we recommend doing it that way in the future. Thanks for watching and suggestions on no wait!!

    You can also use those disposable food storage containers. Wouldn’t use the wife’s good Tupperware. It would make some good size, low profile weights that won’t roll around in the current or in the bottom of the boat and there’s numerous sizes to choose from at like the Dollar Tree or other discount stores.

    You could put a straw over the nails in the limb lines ones, and leave the plastic on the water bottle ones

      Both good ideas. Others have mentioned that. I'm for sure gonna do that if those limb line weights work. I'll also leave plastic on in future. I wanted to pull it off on this video so everyone could see the concrete. Thanks!!

    The possibilities are endless with those. Lightweight kayak anchor. Cheap way to anchor down brush piles. I know some guys fill 5 gallon buckets up with it for duck blind anchors too. Good video.

      @@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 I’d do something that would keep the cement enclosed so it won’t scratch or damage your kayak with its abrasives.

    Another great video.
    The only thing I do different is I don’t take the plastic bottle off. It won’t scratch my boat so bad and the mud slips off the plastic better than the concrete.

      I'm gonna say it would hold together better as well. I mainly took those off for the video so they could see they turn out good. I think in future, especially the drink bottles I'll leave them on

    concrete so light though.. to improve this. i cut a bunch of rebar to the size of cups.. i should have turned mine upside down. but then i had as much rebar pieces i could put in with the concrete and it doubled up the weight of each one. the bad thing i should have probably put a couple pieces of rebar coming out the cup so it doesnt roll around the bottom as easy. but they work. for trotlines i did the solo cup size and with rebar i think they weight a little more then 5 lb i think before the rebar the test one i did with just quickrete was only like 2-3 lb. the other thing walk some old railroad tracks. look for the bigger plates that the railroad spikes hold down under the tracks. those are pretty heavy and work good also. on my trotlines i just use railroad spikes for weights between my floats.

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for mentioning. All good ideas if you want or need heavier weights. We really don't want that heavy of weights in the river because they pull the line tight on bottom. You want net headlines to kinda float up off the bottom so they easier to drag up. That said in a lake I do like them heavier to help stretch tight.

    Instead of fiberglass pieces, I might try shredding a cat tail or two in the concrete. Might work too.

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  Рік тому +1

      Not sure on that. Just the concrete will work, especially in the PVC if you leave it on. I had the fiber already, and I've ordered a lot of concrete with fiber in it. It works real good on slabs, so I figured why not!!

      I've used a lot of steel and SS scrap for weights over the years, but we've used concrete too. Good mixed Crete is way better than bought blocks or brick. I mainly wanted to show this video because a lot of people don't have access to a welder and still can be able to make their own waits for very little money.

    Everyone asking about the weights... I'm curious about the Fanta Orange Sherbet!
    Got a video on that? :)
    I use 2" PVC cut to 5" lengths filled with quickcrete for my juglines. makes a nice 2# weight.

  • @Orlosthedruid
    @Orlosthedruid Рік тому +1

    Use the cheapest, thinnest rebar you can find for making connection points. A simple U-bend is all you need. 2 liter soda bottles and plastic buckets make great forms/molds, so do plastic plant containers/pots.
    Lead is too expensive, and liberals are dead set on outlawing it. Find your alternatives now so you dont be the ones scambling to get what you need later.

      They have it in Jonesville at nets and more. Look them up online. 10 blocks to a case. It will work if your on blues or channel cats. You can break them in half or use a whole block if your in a lot of fish. Check out the wire net videos for fishing the blocks. Hope this helps
