I feel like I’ll be fine because I basically cook, pay some of the bills, do my own laundry, I’ve been buying most of what I own since I was in high school. I think it’s just taking me long to move out.
Girl, you're ready! But i totally get it. Moving out can be totally scary and intimidating but it's one of those things that you just have to jump into!

I’m 19 and looking to move out on my own soon. This video is very helpful and answered so many of my questions. If anyone has more tips I’d love to hear them.
A Tip from me: Get an apartment close to a trainstation. You think you are tough, but you will have times in which you don't want to be alone and either travel to your parents, friends, or partner. You will have to get your luggage everywhere as fast and easy as possible. I ride the train every week cause I don't want to be alone in my apartment 24/7. I am so glad I only have to walk for like 10 minutes.
I’m moving out in may with my boyfriend, I’ll be 21 and he’ll be 26 and I’m really excited and at the same time I’m nervous as heck. Something I'm terrified of is being alone. Like, all my friends are online, and if I move I won't have my family, so unless I make friends at work or something I will be alone 100% of the time. And that scares me, because at college I had a mental breakdown due to being alone (granted I was screwed over by some people, but the gist of it was that I was so alone). Anyone who has moved out, and maybe didn't make friends right away/yet, are you still okay? Will I be okay?
I feel the same way as you! And I’ve gone through the exact same thing! I want to move to a different state but. I know how it feels to be depressed and completely alone and I’m terrified of that feeling returning. What’s good is that you can always move back home or closer to family if you don’t like it
Im moving out on my own very soon. I just got a place for $200 a week and it's actually pretty good and a very spacious open apartment. It's gonna be fun seeing how well I go budgeting and stuff lol like I have never been bad with money but when I have extra I also spend it. I guess that stops now lol
I thought most people have no chance but to move out and live alone when they start working after school or go to university. I just said: "Ok, time to get out of here" with 18 and since then I lived alone (I am 24). Of course I want to get an apartment with my boyfriend when the time has come after finishing university. And your tips would have really helped me back then. I am afraid if I move in with my boyfriend, I will be unable to handle not doing everything like I used to when living alone. Eating on the couch, dishes in the sink, having EVERYTHING organized by me. Having furniture only I have to love. Having my posters not hanging everywhere...
he can still be your boyfriend, you don't have to move in with him, it probably ruin your relationship over time, remember everyone needs their own space, and ir ur worried about kids down the line, i think they would find it cool they could bounce between mum and dad's place and get to know them separately and choose who they wanna live with at certain important milestone age's i had the privilege of that and wish everybody had the same defo gave my travel bug a kickstart even though they only lived 30mins apart
@@phosoa8965 Yet I want to see him everyday. Maybe ee can get two apartments in one house and he has his own furniture, bedroom and such and I have mine. And when we like I go to his place and him to my place in a blink of an eye :D

Another big thing, see if your area has a food pantry. or even if your in college sometimes they have those. It can save you a lot of money on groceries.

If you are young and have options for your car if you get a hybrid you can live a lot more affordably than renting an apartment. Many youth want to explore more and rather not be attached to an area by an apartment. Commuting seems neat at first but it grinds your money down , it opens you up to expenses that you can easily avoid. Think about it let's say you have a decent commute 30 min ? 5X a week you just waisted 5 hours that week you could have spent cooking, Looking for better deals , exercising , taking a shower at the gym. Let's say you took an hour a day cleaning copper from discarded appliances. You can A make a couple of bucks saving resources from the landfill , B learn how to fix things ,C market parts for greater return D do something proactive with that hour that didn't cause your money to go in the other direction. When you get where you can repair things you are going to look at the world different. Instead of rent a center or incurring debt buying expensive new stuff designed to break on time, you repair a washing machine or dryer or ... I never go to a laundry mat , too expensive. I do 2 loads a week whites, colors . I don't throw away a dryer unless it's designed to fail on a prescribed regular basis. I bought a new dryer and it broke 2 years later ,2 years later I same part broke same price for the part $40 at that rate I'll have paid for another new one. I looked for a used dryer that had a better reputation. Paid $50 for it 5 year's later that dryer was still going without one single breakdown. I sold the one I repaired for $50. I'm recommending living out your car . Renting a more affordable (LOCATED NEAR YOUR INTEREST ) storage unit .So your car isn't broken into each time you snag a shower you keep valuables locked in the storage ,and your car isn't being progressively destroyed in meaningless stop and go traffic on a daily ARBATRARY commute. Storage unit so you can have a car that is ready to do side hustle like delivery , buying and selling , etc. You also want to get a personal investment agent. I'm here to tell you that if you don't put your extra money to work it will evaporate. Just the way life is. What I propose is you find a investment advisor through Dave Ramsey. Whatever you want to do is approachable if you A know yourself and B are prepared for who you are going to become. I much prefer you to do 5 years this way when you have unbridled ambition. To apply your hard work in investment vs rent. At the end of 5 years you could have money to start a franchise, to start a family , to buy a home the right way. 20% down 15 years pay off. Some will be wise enough to homestead and pay cash for their property ,build their own or convert shipping containers to housing. Learn a trade for Christ sake sure you can get an education and be an Indian chief but if you become a good earning brave you can start your own tribe. Should have could have would have. I'm guilty. Recently I was in a divorcerape. 17 years catering to a woman that all along was using me to raise her daughter. I met her she had a 6 month old daughter. They moved out 6 months before graduation with honors. I had trusted her with all the money. A lot of money. She stole over 80K from me. Some would say that all you saved ? I will tell you do that end up debt free and raising a kid. We started from below nothing. Rather not go into the hard times but we got a home worked hard paid it off and had good reliable automobiles. We were all set to be empty nesters , well I was , she was all set to destroy all we created so she could steal it all. How can that happen to me? Well she struck first and had access to everything. I know you say get a lawyer ? She had a lawyer easy to do when you are using money your husband earned to destroy the him. I went to hire a lawyer and every one of them wanted $10 K CASH UP FRONT TO START !!! I was ambushed never thought anybody I was so graciousious to would have such a black heart. I ended up with $25 K and a good car. To restart my life. I bought my home , a RV I planned to live in etc. Well this City comes in and says you get caught sleeping in the camper you are going to have to move the Camper off your land. That's the way they are zoned , they are so greedy if you build a birdhouse they probably want a permit and inspection. It's not a total loss. I live 2 min from Walmart and everything else I need. Utilities never get over $100 a month and as low as $60. Water , Sewer, power, garbage , trash service too. Sorry but it just earks me to have to go to people that are here only because we are here and they are telling us what we can and can't do on property we own. I don't really own this if I did I would have already done so much , SPENT SO MUCH (they really hurt the economy) building my new home. Sadly I'm going to end up selling this place. The way it's looking so far I'll probably have to just walk away. The population is declining and it has everything to do with the oil industry being destroyed by low prices. And this city not being flexible enough to change with the times. I go all over the place I get that so I'm going to share this last thought. Better is a problem before it occurs than the end of it afterwards. Better to get as many facts before you enter a relationship, purchase , commitment . Need to learn who are or aren't. You can sculpt your life you can settle many places around the world , or ... It's all up to you. Safely you can bust your ass 5 year's and nearly set for life if you learn how to get to the ends vs taking all the paths to the ends. Maybe my town will chill and work something out where I can do with I need or I might walk and just restart some place else without the bean counters. I would sound much better if my divorcerapists didn't repay all my good deeds with evil. Sadly I have come to learn this doesn't just happen there is a game plan a prescribed step by step gold diggers take to mine assets out of a man , monkey branch to another and repeat the process. Sad but true.
Money is most important thing when you are planing to move out. You can learn cooking without mother, I know I did you can learn everything on your own but you have to have enough money point blank period
If you're reading this, a quick reminder never to give up, keep being you, stay safe, and I sincerely pray all your dreams to come true, as much as I pray my UA-cam dream come true 🙏🏾💗
You should definitely work and start saving up :) I’m 16 too (I turn 17 in 2 months) and I’m starting my first day at work tmr so I can save up and move
I’m 14 turning 15 in 2 months and I just wanna be prepared by then so I’m taking notes early and getting informed. Even though I’ll probably move out when I’m 20. I wanna adopt when I’m like 25 so I really have to make sure I’m financially stable by then
@@molahselulan8992 adopting is a really difficult process, it can take a really long time and I highly doubt it ill be made easier for someone as young. And by the time you are 25 your idea probably changed. you might think you will have it figured out by then. Its awesome to have clear objectives and plan ahead but I wanted to let you know that you are way too young to imagine realistically how things will turn out, so don't feel like a failure if you get to 25 and it isnt what you pictured. Work towards it, but if it isn't there yet, its fine. I'm telling you this because it would have saved me a lot of frustration with myself to know that. Somethings we cant control and you cant plan ahead them.
Do not be afraid to ask people if there's any furniture they want to get rid of or give to you. Don't break your bank trying to get a dresser. Hand me downs are a great place to start. My parents are letting me take all the furniture in my room that used to belong to them, they're basically letting me take whatever I want from the rest of the house that they've owned for 15+ years and kinda want to replace anyhow. I'm very blessed in that sense that they offer it to me, but if your parents haven't then just ask if there's anything they're okay with parting with. Ask your neighbors or friends or other relatives. You don't have to hold onto them forever, they don't have to match, but some things like a sofa or bedframe or dresser will make you very happy to have straight off the bat.
Lol I've been cooking, cleaning, and doing the laundry for my parents since I came back home. They already paid off the house so basically the only thing they've been doing for me is paying for taxes
I put in an application for my first apartment 4 weeks ago today. It’s getting ridiculous at this point! The place I’m in now with my parents it took 2 days for them to hear back. 4 weeks? I’m about to just say screw it and apply for a new place. It’s genuinely annoying.
The only thing that helped me was the earning 3x the amount of rent you'd be paying so thank you for that. Rest was basic common sense but then again I don't live in the US so I'm more used to doing things myself. Good info for those that live a lazy life at home with their parents though.
i was 16 years old and i would love to move out and live alone when i was 18 years old. Can someone help me with getting some idea about how to convince my mom about living alone? i never get any privacy and they always send me far away from home so i thought i should live alone more earlier than other siblings 😀 They might think it's too early for a 18 years old to live alone. Not in a school dorm but alone
what if you don't have credit? I'm 18 and I'm looking to move out but I don't have credit. do you need that to move out on your own. my parents aren't really helpful lol
"Think, are these more important than you getting your own place" Nope. At this point nothing is as important for me as getting my own place. I have no money at this point and I'll gladly go on the outskirts of the city, dig a trench and call it my place.
You have to prioritize and view your budget as cost per use. Buy the things you know you will use daily, then start down the list of other items. Don't cheap out - some things at the Dollar Store are ok (cookingware, dinnerware) but others are cheaper elsewhere (trash bags, toiletries, snacks) or won't last (linens, batteries, chargers, tools).
I'm 17 and I want to move out asap when I'm 18-19 but I know that it would be extremely hard. I just can't live with my mother anymore aha so I'm scared of watching this video
I really suck at math, so that could be a challenge. That is why I am going to a special needs college program, to help people like me and others with learning disabilities.

Moving out in July and just found a 60inch tv and tv stand for $300 on Facebook 👏👏👏👏
Yesssssss🤩
It was the “where’s my lemon squeezer” for me omg amazing content 😂😂
HAHA RIGHT??😅
Thanks my parents are kicking me out at 16 . i loved too see this .. Love from Canada
Good luck to you🤍
I believe your parents legally have to support you financially until the age of 18
David IsAwesome u can get kicked out at 16 in Canada
@@davidisawesome8149 parents can kick you out even at 15 here in my country some don't care.
My household is kind of abusive so I’m planning to move out as soon as I can with my dog (i’m 15 and from canada :/)
living alone is the best. been doing it for almost 30 years. i refuse to live any other way.
It’s a good time to learn!
Agree with every single thing you said, especially the bills and household items!😩
Yesss🙌🏼
Starting off scratch too I see that everything adds up fast
I thought most people have no chance but to move out and live alone when they start working after school or go to university. I just said: "Ok, time to get out of here" with 18 and since then I lived alone (I am 24). Of course I want to get an apartment with my boyfriend when the time has come after finishing university. And your tips would have really helped me back then. I am afraid if I move in with my boyfriend, I will be unable to handle not doing everything like I used to when living alone. Eating on the couch, dishes in the sink, having EVERYTHING organized by me. Having furniture only I have to love. Having my posters not hanging everywhere...
he can still be your boyfriend, you don't have to move in with him, it probably ruin your relationship over time, remember everyone needs their own space, and ir ur worried about kids down the line, i think they would find it cool they could bounce between mum and dad's place and get to know them separately and choose who they wanna live with at certain important milestone age's
i had the privilege of that and wish everybody had the same
defo gave my travel bug a kickstart even though they only lived 30mins apart
@@phosoa8965 Yet I want to see him everyday. Maybe ee can get two apartments in one house and he has his own furniture, bedroom and such and I have mine. And when we like I go to his place and him to my place in a blink of an eye :D
@@MaryArts sounds like a great plan, ive had a similar idea in my head before but with other family members.
i think you should try make it happen
at least you won't have to worry about ur neighbour as much.
i worry about my neighbours too much in a good way though lool
good luck!!

I pay my own bills and their bills too, l pay them online, and do the grocery shopping online too. I do the dishes and laundry work. At times , l feel like l've already moved out lol
im so like youu... im an extrovert but i like having a personal private space

Thank you for this. First time moving out to be a FT Disney Cast Member. Thank you for explaining and not lecturing. I appreciate your honedty. Made me really thinl of where i am headed financially. I do and will definitely havw so issues becoming tighty.but that will part of my job now. Lol. So i guess ill get paid to learn. Lol
if you’re walking around an area at night to simply see if you feel safe don’t.. don’t do that?? alone??
I found a living room table and kitchen chairs on Facebook market place all under 15$
That’s AWESOME!!!
This is so smart!
Another big thing, see if your area has a food pantry. or even if your in college sometimes they have those. It can save you a lot of money on groceries.
love this! love the points you made, match with most of mine! I'm going to rent my own place in a couple weeks if everything goes with my plan and I just can't wait!
all the best with your UA-cam journey, Caira!
Thank you so much! Good luck with your move!
Thank you this was so helpful. I can’t wait to start my journey 😊❤️🙌🏾
Thank you!! Good luck!
Love this so much! Keep working towards your dream!

This is helping so much, youre amazing. Thank you!
Yay so glad you liked it!
I'm 16, and I wanna live alone so bad
But I don't have enough money😭
Great advice! All true although you forgot to mention how overwhelming packing and unpacking can be lol 😬
"Why is there hot sauce on my bed?" haha
Awesome video!
😅😅I’m a mess
Living in California- rent 1500 make 4,500 a month, gotcha.
Right 😭
I found an apartment for 1,695 in a good area and now I’m thinking about how it’s going to all add up 😭😭
Do not be afraid to ask people if there's any furniture they want to get rid of or give to you.
Yes!!!! When we first moved in we had a family friend give us a ton of furniture! It was amazing!
I’m watching this from California like where the $500 apartments at? 👁👄👁
Girl idk but if you find out let me know!
I'm watching this still in high school like maybe I don't want to grow up
Thank you so much! This video helped a lot.
Yay! Glad it helped🥰
omg, thank you a lot, i just started thinking about to moving to my own place, so i did know nothing about moving haha. Thanks
Glad this helped!
Moved up and out of my home state!
That's amazing! You should be proud of yourself! It's not an easy thing but once you do this, you're capable of getting through anything!
Lol I've been cooking, cleaning, and doing the laundry for my parents since I came back home. They already paid off the house so basically the only thing they've been doing for me is paying for taxes
I’m usually a clean person and I just like to be clean
Thanks, this provided a lot of info that I didn’t even think about👍🏼
Glad this helped!
such a cute video!! you have such a pretty smile!🤗
Thank you💕💕
@@CairaButton awh of course!! btw i just subbed to youu!!💗
Wish I liked other people enough to live with them, but I just want to be alone. I hate how expensive it is for one person
Okay so what I’m trying to figure out is how as a recent collage grad were you making 3x the rent? That’s why I’m at home 😂
The dollar tree, dollar general, or daiso if you have that in your area are also good
Oooooh yes good suggestions.
I put in an application for my first apartment 4 weeks ago today. It’s getting ridiculous at this point! The place I’m in now with my parents it took 2 days for them to hear back. 4 weeks? I’m about to just say screw it and apply for a new place. It’s genuinely annoying.
I'm moving out for the first time and I'm gonna dog walk on wag!
Such a great way to make money!
Chores on your own is new for people..........lol I've been doing most of the house chores at home for awhile......
$500.... I wish
In New York i could never :(
Thanks for this ill be moving soon 🤝🏼💯
The only thing that helped me was the earning 3x the amount of rent you'd be paying so thank you for that. Rest was basic common sense but then again I don't live in the US so I'm more used to doing things myself. Good info for those that live a lazy life at home with their parents though.
Hahaha Europeans agree with your comment
i was 16 years old and i would love to move out and live alone when i was 18 years old. Can someone help me with getting some idea about how to convince my mom about living alone? i never get any privacy and they always send me far away from home so i thought i should live alone more earlier than other siblings 😀 They might think it's too early for a 18 years old to live alone. Not in a school dorm but alone
Thank you! Very timely video.
Yay! I hope it helped❤️
Awesome advice
what if you don't have credit? I'm 18 and I'm looking to move out but I don't have credit. do you need that to move out on your own. my parents aren't really helpful lol
You don’t “need” credit! It helps but I didn’t have it when I got my first apartment either.
@@CairaButton okay cool! my mom said its nice having credit for a house and for a car
@@georgewayne5070 Yes it definitely does help, especially when making a big purchase like a house or car, but isn't necassary for renting usually.
"Think, are these more important than you getting your own place"
Nope. At this point nothing is as important for me as getting my own place. I have no money at this point and I'll gladly go on the outskirts of the city, dig a trench and call it my place.
Are you staying by yourself yet or still at home
Thank you so much for the advice ♥️
Of course!!
Me at the start of the video:
NO! Its scary ITS SCARY
Hahaha I’ve been there!
This was so helpful, thank you!! 💖
Me, underage and broke, years away from moving out: take notes
I'm thinking about moving out on my own
what if you're 15 and you are curious about what moving out is like and what is like from other people?
this is so helpful!!
I'm so afraid of living alone 😭 🥺
Don’t be! It’s an adjustment but can be so good!
I'm 17 and I want to move out asap when I'm 18-19 but I know that it would be extremely hard. I just can't live with my mother anymore aha so I'm scared of watching this video
Just make sure you have a good savings! Moving out with roommates helps a lot too!
I would say start saving as much money as possible.
Thank you for this video :)
You are so so welcome! I'm glad it was able to help!
I really suck at math, so that could be a challenge. That is why I am going to a special needs college program, to help people like me and others with learning disabilities.
Thats great!! I am sure that will help a lot. Best of luck to you!
WHAT ABOUT THE MONEY AND HOW TO MANGE MONEY OR MONEY STUFFS BEFORE MOVING OUT 💸🤔🤔🤔
