I completely agree with you! I am on the road to digital minimalism. Switching to a flip phone without fancy features was my first step. Screen limiting apps aren't effective for me. I needed to completely eliminate my access to the conveniences of a smartphone and social media. Many of the people in my life think my choice is weird but I feel so refreshed and it's only been two weeks. I have time and energy to spend doing things in the real world instead of focusing on the lives of people thousands of kilometres away. Now I only consume media when I feel like it. Looking forward to more Tea Talk episodes!
Thanks so much for watching and sharing your own experience!! I can only imagine how refreshed you must feel and I seriously applaud you for the decision to switch to a flip phone bc that's not easy! Best of luck to you as you continue with digital minimalism :)
girl!! thought you were some kind of viral motivational influencer, but then found out you only have two videos.. i really love your content and the way you talk about such relatable topics, you should definitely create more!!
Some things I would do is keep the notifications turned off. I did not download TikTok on its rise to fame, my biggest issue was comparison through Instagram. But also visiting friends in real life, was also a source of comparison since I could see it’s not an exaggeration- it allowed me re-evaluate my approach to my goals in life. I’m not striving to impress others and going into debt for a day to look cool - was a very short -lived experience I learned from after a few months. The workout challenges were motivating, seeing the different people and progress, seeing people start their journey was encouraging. I try to have more conversations with people to keep up with them. Yes the iPhone boundaries are very easy to override - will have to try your recommendation. UA-cam has been a fuel to find people that are learning and teaching about things I like - it’s another way to follow a journey. It’s important to develop a healthy relationship especially if your work is going to require it. It’s kind of integrated into society, even if you only use it professionally (LinkedIn), and your online presence can make an impact. I find it funny how when younger we were told not to put personal info online then once you’re a teen or job seeker you put everything there.
