Great video man, I literally just filmed a video talking about the need for diverse industries in the Southern Utah area. It's very heavily construction focused right now so some diversity will be very good for the area overall
They are not "chasing" it they are just going to build all the infrastructure and "hope" it comes lol. See how politicians can just phrase things and decive the public.
It's not chasing when opportunities like this come to you, it's welcoming. I would be concerned if we weren't welcoming different types of business growth considering the reality that our economy is heavily dependent on a few industries. These types of projects diversify the economy so we can be more stable long term. That's my 2 cents.
I appreciate your updates. I noticed this plan when it was brought to the County Commission. The only thing I am not a fan of lately is all these large projects coming in for rent instead of own. Seems to me the "American dream" of owning your own land and business or home is slowly fading away. but that is progress right. Its only the big companies that can provide the type of economic stability the growth in Washington county is seeing. I would love an update on the 55 acre soccer complex that was approved at the stucki farms.
AT 2:40 min, the Mayor talks about " partnering with the taxing entities" and using sales tax and property taxes to to fund the development, including access roads, power, water, all infrastructure to transform a barren desert into a future economic powerhouse. Why aren't the businesses funding all of this work? That's who is going to benefit financially from the outcome. The ARA SW LOGISTICS, will see financial gain while the taxpayers fund it literally from the dirt up. Is that even legit? Yeah, it might be legal, but is it fair?
Developments happen like this a lot. It's a collaboration between many because the benefits are so massive for everyone involved. Partnership is how a lot of the biggest developments in the country get created.
Why are that not integrating to the look of the dessert to match landscape and go green on building plus no one has been checking to see if there are in danger birds have been being chased out of there homes with resent projects near and around at George an Washington co
Where is the water coming from? I'm sure, during construction, you will keep the dust under control so as not to contribute to our already poor air quality. You will need water in order to keep the dust under control and where will that water come from? Water is a real concern for this area. This project, yes, will provide mega jobs but that impacts growth (more construction of homes, schools, churches, retail which creates more traffic and more stress on current infrastructures AND increases or property taxes).
Lots of things in the works for the water situation. A few of my past videos highlight that actually - 1 from last year and 1 from earlier this year. Its a work in progress that a lot of people are working on every day.
Great work Mayor Kress and team!
This is a great video. Thanks Mac!

Agreed. Absolutely necessary
The mayor has said “we’re not chasing growth” but it sure looks like we are 😫

He hasnt been Mayor that long. Most of all these projects have been approved before he was elected.

Be very careful what politicians want to do for your area.... It can be an unpleasant adventure!... Seen it over and over!!!
I live out here. Not the
“Middle of nowhere”
I realized i misspoke on that after the fact lol. I apologize
