Lars really did just fucking nailed it.
Definitely. All the songs from death magnetic are so unique with the drumming at least for lars, there's no need for extra fills to make it more fun. Played it exactly like the album 🤘
Imagine congratulate a mediocre drummer lmaooo
He’s the best drummer ever
@@chrisbenj3819 haha
@@j.pabloquinche3283 yeah, we already saw you. Now come back to your cave.
I hope they keep this streak up of releasing the pro shots for the 40th anniversary show. Would love to see Bleeding Me next !
What I appreciate most about this edits is the audio quality and production. The stream had great audio quality, but now I can hear Kirk’s guitar better. In the stream you could hear Kirk only on (some) leads and soloing.
@@sancamilobad I definitely agree. Kirk’s guitar was turned down way too much during the stream at certain points. During Sanitarium on the first day, it was practically nonexistent.
If you don’t want to wait both shows are on our Amazon video. I saw them as soon as they put them on there …. So worth it.
@@jaimecanez3235 they took them down after their initial broadcast. they had a rebroadcast for a bit but the entire pro shot of the show isn’t accessible anymore :/
And I Disseppear!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Metallica recognizing all of their albums live even after years no matter the popularity of the songs makes them one of my favorite bands ever.
Metal majesty
You would love Dream Theater (they never repeat the same setlist from earlier tours)!
i agree, but they're never gonna play shoot me again live.
This album is fantastic, heavy, fast, aggressive, and groovy, fantastic, and hard ass break downs
Really good drumming on this one actually...
He’s a legend.
Ya, I really enjoyed the drum sound in this video.
It was killer live!
I LOVE THAT SONG !!! Finally, they played after a long time !!!!!!! Very punchy riff...
Straight up facts!
Only 11 years to play it again, was a treat to hear it on the stream though!
The riff is underrated IMO great song from death magnetic
...Without a doubt, one of the band's best songs
YEEESSSSSSS!!! Love that they played these kind of songs, there is much more Metallica than just "Enter sandman, Sad but true, Master " etc...
I mean... MoP is a staple on a playlist, but I agree. I do love me some rare songs that they don't play often!
@@KillBill23 Absolutely, MoP is a masterpiece and always an enjoyment to listen to!
Or what
Its Just what the Dr ordered!
Bravo!!!!
This song is made to be played live, basically, every live version I've heard is so much better than the studio version
The whole album basically. I saw them on the DM tour and thought all the songs just gave off a different vibe compared to the album
The intro riff as it was back in 2006 (The New Song), was on another level of mean
They are one of the bes live bands ever so...
This (In my opinion) Is Metallica's best Live song yet. I haven't found a performance that smacks as hard. the only things that come close are Frantic, Outlaw Torn, and Don't Tread On Me. Other than those, this is PERFECT!!!
Agreed
We are from different countries but one thing combines us, good music
Nicely put
hello to all from Pakistan
Cheers from Mexico!
Metallica makes us all one.. 🤘 cheers from the Philippines!
i love this song its incredibly underrated!
Yes, actually his lead riff is pretty good!
Death magnetic in general is underrated
this whole album is
@@v.c1134 yes, this good, and probably more if Metallica fans like this, but other older albums are better. But i Death magnetic more of them!
If this Album was released on the 80's would be praised and acclaimed as an "Magnum opus"
My Apocalipse, All Nightmare Long and mainly, The Day That Never Comes are as good as any Metallica's greatest hits
it's sad how dm didn’t get a bit of the love it deserves, it is an awesome album, some problems here and there, but it's amazing
It’s just like St. Anger, the songs are good it’s just how the records were made that screwed over the album. Played live they’re great.
it's the 3rd best tallica album after justice and master imo, ruined by terrible production unfortunately
@@RaaZVan99 what about riiide
@@Noelmartinsson57 4th for me, I feel that dm is a little bit more intricate and complex and I personally like that style better
@@RaaZVan99 ah i gotcha!
I’ve noticed that a lot of the negativity towards Lars has disappeared recently. I think the break really helped everyone get back in fighting shape again. 🤘
Lars is amazing it’s scary how good he is
@@chrisbenj3819 what's good about him
@@shallex5744 He literally invented Metallica. Without him, not a single song of theirs would have ever been written. No master of puppets, no eye of the beholder, no seek and destroy, or anything. Imagine living in a world without Metallica. It would suck. That’s why he is so great.
Lars does an amazing job w his most challenging tracks. This one is surprisingly good compared to most of his stuff
@@shallex5744 He's still drumming at age 58 despite having arthritis, not to mention his unique arrangement skills and groove to playing the kit
This song is so wacky, it sounds like they threw a load of riffs in a blender and what came out was this completely off the chain hybrid of grunge, thrash, ballads etc this song is just crazy and I love it!
That's pretty much what happened tho hahaha
That’s basically Death Magnetic lol. I love the bridge here. The slave becomes the master part sounds right off of Load/Reload…so moody
It’s amazing !!
They had is in the first half not gonna lie
That's called "prog" ;D :D
Come on guys, let’s give some credits to Trujillo!
His backing vocals are FUCKING BRUTAL!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He really got better comparing to older performances, props to that.
He's suffering from being compared to Jason, same as Jason was compared to Cliff. No one will ever match Jason's stage presence so Rob's gets ignored unfairly.
One of the heaviest songs on Death Magnetic, along with That Was Just Your Life, All Nightmare Long and My Apocalypse
Also Broken, Beat And Scarred too
My apocalypse bridge is legendary
@@cm9342 definitely, All Nightmare Long has loads of sinister solos in it, definitely one I wanna hear being played again live, but it's good they're bringing back the popular songs that haven't been played in ages
@@cm9342 SPIT IT OUT
@@alienduce6755 such a badass song. Probably my favorite section over these last 2 albums
I love drums on Death Magnetic, they are so solid. This song is not easy to play live and Lars nails it!
What did we do to deserve this amazing streak of unexpected song picks for the live performances lately?! This is just gold!
Right 🤘🍺😎
Survive
Absolutely ~ friggin ~ lootely!!!
It was so surprising to see death magnetic making more of a presence than just the day that never comes. I enjoyed every minute they played!! Waiting for Am I Evil full version!!
Yes time to play that was just your life, All Nightmare long and My apocalypse 🤘
@@vinsmokesanji1385 also don't forget Suicide and Redemption. James' solo there is phenomenal
@@marcthedashergd6321 yeah! When james making solos it makes the song phenomenal, i prefer DM personally i prefer DM to HTSD album, but some of tracks on hardwired is kickass, like spit out the bones, moth, here comes, confusion, but for me DM is an album that revive metallica's Thrash heart of music after a break.
Judas Kiss ? \m/
I love how the bass drum sounds like. It hits you in the chest.
right? felt it immediately
5:45 Onwards is one Metallica's best live perfomances, EVER. Beautiful.
Death Magnetic is my favorite Metallica album. To me, it's terribly underrated and is right up there with Master. I don't care what anyone else thinks about it.
No where near master. But I respect your opinion.
it was their rebirth for me i waited years and years for it when it dropped
its a complex Album with a lot great stuff
It is definitely underrated. It was their return to form after years of strife and uncertainty. It’s as close to AJFA part 2 as we’ll ever get. If it had the sound quality of Hardwired, it would be even more epic!
@@TDAshton I don't disagree with you about the sound quality, on some songs, not all. Metallica have stated that it was mastered on a laptop, in hotels, while they were on tour. Not an ideal studio setting by any means. That's on them, but so are the amazing songs on that album. I think Hardwired isn't AS good as DM, but a great followup. I'd be willing to bet we get a remaster of DM some day.
Best performance of this song, no doubt. Hardwired tone is sick!
This song is from Death Magnetic
Bruh
He means the guitar tone they are using is from their most recent album. They are not using the same sound from DM.
I prefer the versions from Mexico or Quebec Magnetic. This sound is so clean and the tempo is too slow.
I just love hearing DM songs live and without the awful studio compression
That song absolutely crushes! Death Magnetic is such an amazing album, I would actually put it ahead of Hardwired as far as favorite modern Metallica releases. Would love to hear them tackle My Apocalypse or Broken, Beat & Scarred with the renewed sense of energy they have as of late.
same thoughts. i hope dm (and beyond magnetic) gets remixed to fix the audio clipping.
@@kingezremV isn't it fixed on audio platforms?
@@user-sx4tt7gs4w streaming yes but a reissue for physical formats will be better (for collectors). 👍
@@kingezremV oh, that's what you mean, that will be good, but i don't think it would be soon
My Apocalypse is one of their heaviest, thrashiest songs of all time. No idea why they ignore it.
God damn Lars is on fire 🔥 lately. Fills are perfect and timing is dead on. Great to see.
death magnetic has everything what hardwired doesnt have: complexecity, creativity, great riffs great vocals...its a fucking modern album
Lars has made the biggest comeback im the history of drummers.Absolutely amazing!
A lot of metallica's songs are underrated. They shouldn't be. Especially from Load, Reload, and St. Anger
Load and Reload are slowly not becoming underrated, St.Anger on the other hand is unlistenable
@@jd0879 Listen to the unnamed feeling or frantic. Those 2 I like from st anger
Relative to Metallica's discography, yes.
Compared to 90% of metal bands, even Metallica's overlooked cuts get played more.
You forgot Death Magnetic. It's fantastic
@@AlienFrequency I never got into it. Could you give me some good songs? I like the end of the line, but I don't understand Unforgiven III
We got to appreciate Robs playing during those clean chords at 5:45. Those bass lines are beautiful with those beautiful guitar chords on top 😭🔥 man I love this band
2:35 Rob kills me with that movement of his fingers and his face hahahaha
The Slave Becomes The Master
2:36 , Me too Rob, me too..
@@wokeyoda96 😫😫😩
How rare is this to be perform in the tour before. It's good to see they played the song!
Very rare to see this song played nowadays. They only played it on the World Magnetic tour before this where it was played constantly and after that it wasn't played until the 40th anniversary.
0:54 one of the best transitions in the Metallica catalog
If this album had better production, it could be a top 5 for them.
absolutely agree - check out the 2015 remaster / remixed version. way, way better!
Buy the itunes remaster, its been salvaged!
@@bitflux2 but Lars said I’m not allowed to stream/download music
@@Nacnud92 lol nevermind that, buy it and enjoy death magnetic with hefty dynamic range
@@bitflux2 don't have Itunes to much $$$$$
I love "Death is not the end" much more.
Death Magnetic is one of my top 3 Metallica albums. My top 3 go through a rotation and DM is my current favorite.
And justice to death magnetic
This song along with just about every other DM song is such a crowd pleaser. No idea why they dont play it more often.
I still remember when part of this song was part of "death is not the end" 🤘
Yeah this one and All Nightmare Long.
the most groovy and brootal song from Metallica
One of the most underrated Metallica songs. This sounds amazing would love to hear that live.
Lars’ cymbal work on TEOTL is stellar 🤩My favorite song from DM! So blessed I got to see this live!
When I see Kirk’s foot on pedals, I imagine his mouth doing the same move!
James' voice sounds so good singing this one! Perfect for his range.
Man... James Vocal Coaches or whoever are responsible for his technique do an amazing job, he's sounding great
It's amazing how tight this was considering they never play this song
Could sound tighter if James did the downstrokes... Can't really blame, this song hurts a lot on the picking arm lol
They played this song a lot at the time they released the album. There is some live footages and dvds that this song is on
@@murilopinheiro269 nah, they played it maybe 4 or 5 times, not much after the World Magnetic tour.
@@alienduce6755 both of those statements are wrong. The World Magnetic (or more specifically the 2008-2010 period) had over 200 shows, The End Of The Line was played 149 times, which majes it one of the most played songs from the tour. After that, it never got played again until now.
@@OnlyOfGreenDay Thanks! Some people confuse video material of the song played with actual shows played. A lot of shows!!
Overkill and Metallica with two similarly named songs and they are both awesome.
So cool!!!! They need to play this song more often.
More songs from death magnetic in general. That was just your life is a banger
@@_mikeacuna_ yes and all nightmare long I miss Kirk playing that badass solo
@@jantzenallen3077 there's a lot of great songs overall
@@_mikeacuna_ indeed
Death Magnetic is criminally underrated! 🤘🤠
Drop the hourglass of time. Spilling sand we will not find. The slave becomes the master, baby.
one thing that fascinates me is thatl ars is on his a game in every new video I see
man is somehow better now than he has ever been before
absolute legend
I'll never understand how Metallica sound just as good if not better live than in studio.
The little skip James does when the second riff comes in puts such a smile on my face
Death Magnetic songs sound so good live. They should play them more often
One of their best songs of the last 20 years.
Worlds greatest metal band
Period!
5:50 my favourite metallica's bridge ever. James voice "drop the hourglass... " and the groove BASS.
Know em since 1981 Anaheim CA USA ❤❤❤
Absolutely love it! Lars is on fire!
Greetings from Turkey!
I remember going to the music store when I was 18 to buy a death magnetic album. I was so excited. i love this album.
It would finally like a new album !
Video of the year. a very underrated song in my opinion 🤘🏻🥁🎸🎸🎸
This is such a powerful song for live performances. Grossly underrated
Such a banger without the poor production quality of the album! Can’t wait for a death magnetic remaster it will be fire. Such an underrated album! Such a thrash banger this song!
Just think, in another year Death Magnetic will be 15 years old!!
@@invisiblekid7374 really :O
Apparently, the album got a new mix on Spotify the other month
@@bakerboat4572 I’ll have to check that out! Imagine if it had production of mop ajfa or black album?
@@invisiblekid7374 Holy feck...
my favorite song off Death Magnetic. The chorus is killer and the breakdown is haunting.
Straight off the most well composed metal album of this century.
This is the best metal band .. ALL' TIME 🔥🔥🔥🤟🤟
I got chills during that. It’s amazing that people can claim they still don’t have it after a performance like that!
My favorite song from Death Magnetic, I just wish they would play more stuff from Load and Reload live
The stops at 5:33 are so nasty, they killed this song. Lars was impecable here
its called "rest"
Hmm yes this is here he usually fails lol
I remember watching it on the live stream with my friend and when they got to that part in particular, I said to my friend “that sounds like Metallica is supposed to sound”
The greatest Metallica Album for me. By far.
Agreed!
One of my favourite Death Magnetic songs along with All Nightmare Long, Broken Beat & Scarred, The Day That Never Comes and The Unforgiven 3.
-Always loved the groovy riff (0:54)
-The build-up riff to the solo (4:31)
-And "the slave becomes the master" clean section (5:41)
I love that creepy, groovy breakdown with Robs bass singing at 5:41, so good
The whole album is a masterpiece (except the mixing/mastering) let's be honest
@@Noelmartinsson57 I agree 100%
@@Noelmartinsson57 there’s a guy who remastered most of that album, did a pretty good job. Andy Khairat on UA-cam
@@wokeyoda96 oh yeah ik, his stuff sounds amazing! Especially Suicide and Redemption.
That riff at 0:55!!!
Damn rob sounds good on backing vocals lately
This song is riff heaven
Death Magnetic sounds soooo good live.
I like how Lars was Constantly hitting that tall Cymbal on the Right of his Drum from his POV when it came to Certain Sections of the Song. Tus Tus Tus Tus Tus Tus Tus Tus.
5:32, so simple yet SO heavy. Thanks for this performance lads
this song slaps so hard
Watching this reminds me of why I loved Metallica so much as a kid,
I was eleven when I first heard One and had my mind completely blown away, I've been an avid fan ever since, from the old cassette tape singles I literally hunted down when I had some money, to buying all of your CD's... and wearing them out so much that I had to buy two copies of each one, one to listen to, and one to display like a comic book fan proudly showing I had all of them!
I remain still and always an avid fan and metalhead, even if I risk throwing my back out or pulling quite a few muscles these days,
Even after thirty years, hearing your music still hits me with that rush of heat and excitement, thank you for that, I've had little reason to feel such excitement these days.
God bless you all, and keep the fires burning, as long as you can.
They really gave it all on “Death Magnetic”, no simple stuff there. Some of their harder songs to play.
I was blessed to be in GA for this show both days!!!! Truly something I’ll never forget.
So underrated!!
Death Magnetic is better than Hardwired
My favorite performance of this song was in Mexico 2009 I love this song 🤘🤘🤘🤘
this song is awesome. It would be cool if more death magnetic songs could leak into the setlists
they also did cyanide and day that never comes recently, I´m hoping for all nightmare long to return
Love hearing robs bass werring away so loud!
One of the best of Death Magnetic 🤘🏻🔥
METALLICA RULES SINCE 1981!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
death magnetic was an excellent album. kirk brought his pent up solo skills.
It's just amazing that he constantly remember all songs lyrics in every show.
@Robert Trujillo great Robert! Please come to Indonesia again!! On 2013 my daughter was born and I couldn't go to Metallics show.

Death magnetic is hands down the most underrated Metallica album.
Death Magnetic is a truly under appreciated gem… and my favourite Metallica album.
Great song. Lars nailed it. James perfect on the anger parts and on the emotional part of the vocals. Love to see diferent songs on the setlists. These 40th anniversary shows had great sets. Waiting to see this show in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Very soon 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Been a hell of a ride gentlemen, lucky enough to have been able to see 3 shows in the 80 one in the early 90s and mid 90. Time of my life. All of them. Glad your shutting it down on top. Now enjoy
Death Magnetic is the first Metallica album which I heard for the first time in entirely from the start to the end without skipping any song.... Glad that Metallica performed this gem!
One of my all time favorite Met tracks. Such a well written heavy bastard of a song!
LARS ON FIRE!!!!
Guys are SO good they just make it look easy.
I take great pleasure knowing that there are thousands of of the "there isnt a good album after justice" in the crowd right now going crazy 🤣🤣🤣
James not down picking is definitely a sign of his age. Love him still

Maybe that's more a practicality thing than a sing of age, imo. It might be just me, but it's way easier to sing this song when you alternate it, instead of downpicking it.
WoW, every song from Metallica on live are amazing. Death Magnétic and St Anger albums are being better and better every year. Both underrated
