- In this video i will show you how to obtain the keycode for this volkswagon beetle.. this model is 2001 but should be the same for any beetle from 1998-2010,however i wasnt able to program a new key for it :(( but if you have an existing key you can clone it with the vvdi key tool and superchip!! You need to pull the pin code from the dash, not the ECM. The brand is Martin Marelli (sp?) You can easily pull the pin code with a Chinese clone T-300. I've done it several times. But use the DASH , then Martin Marelli. Also use the Xtool but go to the 17-Dash, not the ECU. Also the Autel does it automatically,

i don't understand on some vehicles like toyota yaris other day i did the ignition bite was 10 while the door was 8 i have to cut the key by hand to mach it correctly.!

Great video as always! What if the wafers do not have numbers on them? Can we measure the wafer itself with calipers? I was working on a 89 toyota cressida and removed the cylinder but wafers had no numbers on them :(
Super old car i would just put the new key in there tap the wafer with a little soft mallet mark the key and file it down by hand until the wafers go down and impression the rest if i have to !!

Hello I purchased my sec-e9 from a friend !! I love the sec-e9 !! Been using the same cutting drill bit for over a year!! Hasnt broke yet, ima need to change it soon though!! The only problem i have with this machine is the battery on the tablet .. if you over charge the battery you can damage it..and will have to connect it every once in a while for charging..
I know this is off topic but what you're doing but is there a way to program one key to the Ford F-150 2001 or do I have to use two keys and there's no way around it
It is possible to just add a key to some newer vehicles for all keys lost .. but rare

Also when i removed the cylinder from 89 toyota cressida, which is 8 cuts..the cylinder had 9 wafers. Why and what is the extra wafer for? retainer ???
Its to hold in the cylinder lock to the housing I believe!! Best is to just mark the new key with the pin by smaking the wafers with a little hammer or screw driver head and slowly file down the key until the pin align

Ok so my buddy ended up bringing his vvdi2 vag and disabled the immobiliser light!! So basically any key with out the transponder can turn it on .. as long as the key is cut to the correct key code!! Big headache

Hey bud the Autel IM508/608 will automatically pull the pin code, I know from first hand experience with that programmer, it's my daily driver.

My friend what cut do u use to pull out the pin?.. This is lost key situation vw beetle 2009,I tried to lishi it no luck, I dismantle the lock but can not pull out the pin from the housing, u mention just jiggle it with random cut key, pls help , thanks

I able to get the key turn the ignition and the remote also works , now just end up can not program the chip , x tool able to pull out the pin code but when program it it says failed try all the other functions still the same , any idea which tool might works ( 2009 new beetle )

I ran exactly through the same issue I made a key for a 1999 beetle, all keys lost situation I tried to pull the pin with 5 different key programmers unsuccessfully, the only way to pull the pin is open up the ECU and pull the pin from EEPROM chip memory with auto pro pad

The eeprom chip part number es 95040 and is located mostly in middle of ecu board
Same number apply for most vw from 1999-2007 you can just use a ponoma clip to pull the code

I found the chip its in the back of the ecu correct 8 pin?? Do i need to ground anything to the ecu ?? I went to eeprom adapter/read pin code/vw/beetle/engine(95040) it tells me whether to save data / i put no/ then it says legal pin is not found :(((

If its not printed on the door,trunk,glove box lock cylinders ..you must dismantle the driver door lock cylinder and write down the cuts (numbers written on the pins) after try using instacode to calculate the rest of the cuts!!

Tell me about it!! I ended up calling a buddy of mine brought over his vvdi2 vag and disabled the immobiliser light so any non tranponder key could turn it on.. that was the only way i dont think he was able to find the pin either :-//
