  • We cut up the fenders of this 1973 challenger to install some work Meister 3 piece wheels and some fender flares. I'm a big fan of well stanced cars, I think it changes the whole look of the car for the better.
    Wheels are work Meister 3 piece
    Rear: 19x12 -59 offset
    Front 19x10.5 -45 offset

    I love traditionally Japanese wheels on American muscle. Great job guys, looks mean as hell

    Why do you have to cut the car up if the flares are going to cover the wheel well anyways!?

    • @Benji...
      @Benji...  2 роки тому +1

      The body needs to be cut away to make clearance for the tires, otherwise the stock fender will be hitting them as you drive which will damage the body of the car

    Do the riv nuts or other mounting hardware come with the flares or purchased separately? And if separate, what size/length are the nuts and bolts needed to buy?

    • @Benji...
      @Benji...  Рік тому +1

      I have found some kits on amazon that come with the flares. I think we just use M6 Rivnuts and 12mm long bolts

    You used a 70s grille?

    • @Benji...
      @Benji...  2 роки тому +1

      The grill is from a new model challenger, can't remember what year exactly. Something like 2010

    Nice job. Have a 70 Cuda I have similar plans for. Don't understand the purists with the dont cut mentality on Mopars. I have seen plenty of Chevy's and Ford's end up as beautiful Protour cars. And the Mopars are always "bolt ons" that end up a boring version of the other manufacturers. Nice to see your commitment. Fk the purists.

      I plan to do an offroad build to my 69 Cutlass and the purists are against it, but then they also love rat rods. Makes no sense

      @@michaelcolley697 I would tell you to go for it. But do it to the best of your ability. Don't cut corners you don't have to. there are plenty of purist cars built like crap. I have seen fully modified cars with really nice work into them come out great. those that get it will pick up on the quality work and accept the build for what it is.

    So what was the original offset of the 3pc wheel? I want to grab a 3pc wheel for my challenger but don’t want to spend for more wheels when I go widebody.

      I'm not too sure on the exact specs but they are something like 19x12, -59 rear and 19X10.5 -45 front now. So probably would have been positive offset around the same amount before flipping

    Where did you get that rear diffuser/ splitter ? I'm building a 70 cuda, & I don't want to do a factory rear tail pan, I really like the one you have ,very cool! And the exhaust location is awesome....

    Just a suggestion, but I dont know just how "finished" you want the car to look. But I would utilize those flares as forms. Form metal around them and mold/weld them into the body so they are seamless!! Also, guys, at least wear a painters mask when you're using that grinder! You are getting gobs of shit in your lungs that will bite you later in life!!!
