I didn't feel the need to. I wanted to have fun with it. I'm not some OEM purist who goes all crazy about OEM looks/parts. I don't need 2 hatch Si's that look identical, that's boring as hell for me.
Here in Finland with all our snow and road salt, I would've had to take extra care to rustproof all the holes and edges or those flares would fall off in a couple of years...but I guess in Texas that isn't really such a big issue! :D But it may still be wise to apply some type of paint or coating on them to ensure longevity. Those flares definitely look the part though, nice job.
Thanks! I might go back in there and add some paint to the holes. But you're right, I live in the desert and we don't ever see road salts or snow and the rain doesn't really affect us because it's not humid where I live so it all dries up within a day.
That came out awesome. Your track car is looking amazing, I’m looking forward to seeing more track footage. The progress you’ve made on this car is insane. Keep up that good quality work bro 🙌🏽
looks great! that's what I run in front. Keep an eye on the 949 for cracks. Fenders turned out awesome. Yeah thats a good height you can go to track and adjust it and see what rubs
This thing looks soo sick, I had to rewatch this video again 😁 I really hope you keep full interior in this track car. Dedicated track car with full aero, & full interior = 👌🏽
Wow what a transformation! New wheels are siiiiick.. the black and white Storm trooper/panda/penguin is now complete (unless cf hood?). Can't wait to hear how the new tires perform at the track 🐼 🐧 🏁
OMG, your a mad man lol! For real though. Simple engineering. That car is going to STICK! I think it looks great. Its a fun track car serving its purpose. Well done👍
A Dremil with the reinforced cut-off wheels is real handy for small trimming and can handle whatever material. - Glad you did the spats. The wider tires make for even more frontal area and turbulence so they will help aero considerably. Some heat-gun massage therapy on the flares and spats will help get a cleaner look and smoother air transition. Extend the spat up to cover the backside of the flares. Use a long straight-edge laid across the wheel/tire to get a better idea on where to trim the spat for the right coverage without too much overhang. You'll be tracing the line on the backside of the spat. You can also heat-gun a 90 degree bend on the bottom so you can mount it to the splitter. Better than mounting screws into the end of the splitter where the ply makes it weak. You'd much rather have to redo the spats versus the splitter since they are cheap and easy to do/re-do but the splitter much less so. Alternatively, a small piece of angle aluminum (like you used on the air dam) can mate the two and attach to the strong dimension of the ply (through not in the end of). Rear spats will help too. - Anyways, looking good! Hacking/radiusing the lower rear of the fenders to evacuate wheel well air next! Never looks great but works well. Trade-offs, haha. - The L shaped garage door seal/trim I mentioned previously for some quick side skirts will help and wont detract from the look you have going. They will make your diffuser much more effective since they will keep underside air flowing front to rear. They also lower overall under car pressure which is always good. - Keep it up!
Nice I have them in silver for my crx now. I just picked up a another set in charcoal. Nice looking wheel for a great price. I think they look meaner with the center caps off.
Garage Built Hondas no worries, you can also use rubber hose and split it down the seam and then use whatever flexible adhesive of choice, quick, cheap and easy!
Looks pretty badass ! Should invest in a Dremel as well to sand down or cut anything you need to perfection ! Although your cuts look really good without one!
I do not normally like this. Although, you are using it for a true purpose which is for track. Great job.I do hate that you cut those good fenders though. I am here looking for some flawless crx fenders, but they are non existent.
I hear ya buddy, so many people wouldn't have done it. I'm sure I'll come across another set of fenders pretty easily too. EF parts always come my way first in my area. 👍
Garage Built Hondas yes I want to make some also for my ek hatch. Got pci side skirts working a front splitter like you did. great work on the aero and kept up the great videos
I never would have cut that fender with the wheel still on! Im too disaster prone hahaha Track car looks amazing! Want to do my 91 hatch just like yours! Fly as a falcon bro
Lol, I figured track wheels are gonna take some damage so it was ok. I hear ya though, so many times I've dented or scratched or nicked something that's brand new. 😕
You should put some side skirts..! Would look nice and could possibly help on the air..!! Your car looks even better every time ..! Great work . #GarageBuiltHondas👍🏼
I’ve tried mother’s back to black but it just doesn’t work for my bumpers. Perhaps my bumpers are too far gone at this point. I’ve tried using a heat gun along with an assortment of bumper refresh liquids and my bumpers remain with a discolored grayish look. I’m leaning towards some sort of paint at this point because they look terrible. I haven’t tried the turtle wax product so I’ll give that a try.
My ocd wonders if the splitter is the exact same width as the tires now. I had my reservations at the start, but it looks alright in the end. I've got a winter project for you. That splitter adds a decent amount of weight. Use it as a mold during the off season to make a clone out of fiberglass or carbon.
Nooooooooooooooooo! Not the oem fenders! 😭
Looks dope tho!
I debated it for a while, then I walked into the backyard and looked at the 91 and said, let's do this. The 90 will never be as clean as the 91. 😁
Why not sacrifice a cheap set of aftermarket wings/ fenders
I didn't feel the need to. I wanted to have fun with it. I'm not some OEM purist who goes all crazy about OEM looks/parts. I don't need 2 hatch Si's that look identical, that's boring as hell for me.
Perfect looking Track Car... Clean work man 💪
Thanks buddy!
Probably the best looking civic generation ever.
Agree
Hurts my soul to see you cutting perfectly good fenders like that!
Lol, I'm sure a handful of people were hurt today.
i love that you really take your time to do everything the right way. awesome build man, really enjoy your videos
Appreciate that!!
It looks fantastic! Absolutely love all the aero and it’s really looks the part of a track car
Man that makes it look super aggressive. I love it! It will show in your times, look forward to that! I love that moment of "well no going back."
Lmao, there really wasn't. Kinda funny I said it out loud, probably had to help relieve some of my anxiety.
Can't wait to see the track footage of this car flying by or in it as well. You really nailed the body flow on it. Simple (somewhat) and Clean AF!
I hope my footage turns out well!
Believe me v happy to find ur channel bcz i have same car 89 civic but is sedan and i like ur work . . .
Thank you, and welcome!!
Probably the best fender flare video I’ve seen !! Looks great man!
Thanks man! There was no going back, it was nerve wracking but I'm happy with it!

Track videos next weekend!!
I finally starting to maybe do my Tacoma and your videos have given me good ideas. Love the work you do and how you do it and the cheap diy materials.
looks great! that's what I run in front. Keep an eye on the 949 for cracks. Fenders turned out awesome. Yeah thats a good height you can go to track and adjust it and see what rubs
Thanks man! These are Gen4's so hopefully no cracks but I'll definitely be wary of always checking them for damage.
All the new videos this year are killer!
Much appreciated for that! Wss hoping I'd get some good stuff for this car this year!
The flares turned out good. That's a lot of rubber under the front of a CRX. I can't even imagine the insane amount of grip!
I'm excited to drive the shit out of it!!
Man It can out way better then I expected. You really got that crx looking good. But those oem fenders!!
Love it. Turned out great. It was worth the sacrifice of the fenders
👍😀
This thing looks soo sick, I had to rewatch this video again 😁 I really hope you keep full interior in this track car. Dedicated track car with full aero, & full interior = 👌🏽
I do, the only thing I remove is the rear seats and cargo stuff because I carry all my tools/wheels/etc to the track in the car.
Wow what a transformation! New wheels are siiiiick.. the black and white Storm trooper/panda/penguin is now complete (unless cf hood?). Can't wait to hear how the new tires perform at the track 🐼 🐧 🏁
Hood soon, need to sand it down and re-clear it or throw vinyl on top of it.
Love it man!! That car has come a long way! Love the videos!
OMG, your a mad man lol! For real though. Simple engineering. That car is going to STICK! I think it looks great. Its a fun track car serving its purpose. Well done👍
Appreciate it, the car felt great. Hoping to revive it again soon.

Looking forward to seeing the results of the mods you've done at the track!
Nice setup dude! She looks awesome!
Bigger fender flares in the back for a wider track width and some tracklife fender cutouts would be sick! Loving the progress so far!
I might do something wider in the distant future. Good suggestions for sure!
At first I thought you had lost your mind... but the end product was a home run 👍🏻
Always love ur videos! Makes me miss my sedan
Looks awesome. Really like the overall body and style. Amazing job!
Now you have me thinking about 245s on the front... Look forward to seeing next week's videos of our runs together!
You should try it. Definitely a front sway bar for the track here. It'll keep you out of the dirt!
@@GarageBuiltHondas I don't know if the sway bar would have helped lol
Lmao, that was awesome!
We have an event next Saturday the 20th, you should join! Going CW this time! 👍😎
@@GarageBuiltHondas I'm still recovering from the last drive down there lol
Nice I have them in silver for my crx now. I just picked up a another set in charcoal. Nice looking wheel for a great price. I think they look meaner with the center caps off.
I've always been a fan, and they are great for abuse since not too expensive!
Looks Sick! Maybe throw some rubber weather strip over the cut fender edge just in case? Cars looks really mean, good luck at the track 🤙🏼⚡️
That's a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion!
Garage Built Hondas no worries, you can also use rubber hose and split it down the seam and then use whatever flexible adhesive of choice, quick, cheap and easy!
Function and Form...great job!! Looks awesome
Thanks buddy!!
Looks awesome!!! Loving the new aggressive style
Hey man clean setup. I’ll be adding flares to my accord as well!
👍
Looks great man. Love everything you've done to it!
Thanks felix
Dude that thing looks badass. Love it.
The car looks realllllly good. Well done.
Thanks!
i was thinking of doing the front fenders using some imperfect junk yard fenders since my original ones still have vin tags and are clean
That'd be smart. It took me about 2 hours to get started on this. I kept going back and forth and finally said "let's do this!".
It’s not that bad. I’ve always kinda like fender flares on civic hatch. 👍🏻
Can't wait to see that on track!
I can't wait to drive it hard!
SO SICK!! Although, I personally would of cut up those other gray fenders you mentioned instead. To each their own. Still looks amazing and true DIY.
I didn't want the gray on there. I'm weird, I wanted my panda look.
Looks sick, rear defuser and sideskirts to top it off ✊🏽
Canongang look closely. He’s got a rear defuser on there. I saw your comment and was about to say the same till I saw it on there
Looks pretty badass ! Should invest in a Dremel as well to sand down or cut anything you need to perfection ! Although your cuts look really good without one!
I have one but realize I love my jigsaw and the grinder. I think I break a lot of cutting discs on the Dremel and just got annoyed.
Garage Built Hondas ohh okay , I guess to each their own, you got some clean cuts !
I try to keep them clean, I'm a little OCD about some things do that can really help sometimes.
Dude that thing looks way more aggressive Nice!
Looks sick on the 949s
I do not normally like this. Although, you are using it for a true purpose which is for track. Great job.I do hate that you cut those good fenders though. I am here looking for some flawless crx fenders, but they are non existent.
great job btw! Now thick ass tires can fit
I hear ya buddy, so many people wouldn't have done it. I'm sure I'll come across another set of fenders pretty easily too. EF parts always come my way first in my area. 👍
Great work dude looking better every time
Looks awesome! Gets me motivated to work on my own project!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome, that's what I'm talking about!
No student is ever gonna teach a master!!!
Lol
Looks good, at least you got some spare fenders
Nice with the wider Wheels in the front will help a lot when understeer
That looks awesome i really like it i wanna get a set for my civic thanks for the video
The flares look good man and if you want to ever sell those 949 wheels I’ll take them lol! I love the wheel and tire set up as well.👌
Thanks buddy, you'll be the first to know!
Garage Built Hondas hell yes! They would be perfect for the del sol that’s why!
Cant wait to see this ef in action
Putting El Paso in the map 💪🏼
Doing my best to have some fun and help out anyone interested in watching! 🙏
Nice top job looks good for track
Love the look, really looking like a time attack car.
It's a good thing that it is! 😁
Hey , your car looks amazing, I have one like yours which I'm running it , how did you make the front LIP of your car?
ua-cam.com/video/oVZz4Xa4it0/v-deo.htmlsi=UV889CSTcRPBbQrd
Damn man, it looks so sick!
I love the look! Freakin aggressive!
Loving the track look 👌
I like it. I personally would have used the larger flair and widened the stance a bit more. Well done.
I might try them eventually. Wanted to see how this fit. Don't gotta worry about the anxiety of cutting my fenders again though. Lol
Sick dude, cant wait to see if the little extra meat helps on the times 💪🏻
Dude, me too!!
Looks super good 👍
👍
I think it looks awesome ! What do you think about the track life fender cut outs ?
I love em! I might just cut mine though since I like trying to mod stuff. It doesn't seem too difficult and could make them look pretty nice too
Garage Built Hondas yes I want to make some also for my ek hatch. Got pci side skirts working a front splitter like you did. great work on the aero and kept up the great videos
Looks good. Built to drive!!!
16:57 I can daily drive one of this all day!, the best thing is all body gaps tight
I just bought those Milwaukee Fuel ratchet set. I love them. Do you have any tuning videos? Hondata, etc.
Me too dude. I don't, never tuned before. Did get my Hondata in. Basemap though, we'll see if it helps!
@@GarageBuiltHondas Cool, just curious how tuning a Honda works. I want to tune my Prelude but not sure how. Some say you have to buy obd1 computer.
It does look bad ass man what a blast 💪
Dammm that looks so dope 🔥 I just might bite your style lol good job so far on the build 👍🏽
It does look good.nice work. 👍
Wow, that does look good. And to be so simple.
Appreciate it, glad you dig it!

looks like a hillclimb car. cool. plexi glass/lexan/polycarbanate rear side windows up next?
Ahhh man! It looks so aggressive and don't mind what others I saying I did the same to my wagon fenders 😂
Cut-Fender-Crew right here! 🙏
You should put some side skirts..! Would look nice and could possibly help on the air..!! Your car looks even better every time ..! Great work . #GarageBuiltHondas👍🏼
I'm trying, hoping to get or make something soon!
@@GarageBuiltHondas What ever you ended making or getting on your car, I bet it will be nice, can't wait .. !!
Thanks for the nice comment homie!
Looks pretty good
Nice EF. Are you going to put on a roll cage anytime soon?
I'd like to. Probably just the Autopower bolt in cage.
Yep. Love it
Looks amazing man
The car looks great 👌
love the new look...
Car looks great man👍🏼
Looks great!
looks amazing man!!!
Looks great man 👍🏽. How do you keep the original black portions of the front and rear bumpers so black?
I use Turtle Wax Trim Restorer. I really like how well that stuff works.
Also, I recommend Mother's Back to Black
I’ve tried mother’s back to black but it just doesn’t work for my bumpers. Perhaps my bumpers are too far gone at this point. You should install ek side skirts or make some. Great work!
I do wanna get something on here!!

Reminds me of the Pikes Peak Escudo from GT2 days. 😁😁
That's a compliment??
Looks SWEET!!
Car looks badass 👌
Looks clean af 👍
Can you install these flares without cutting the fenders? Just to cover or hide a bacon wavy like edges of the fenders.
I don't see why not
That looks soooo good
Looks gangster, just need some canards now 😉
That word perfectly describes it!
Nice! I miss my 90 hatch so bad.
Keep up the great work. 👍🏻
Any plans for the PCI side skirts??
Either build something, or PCI. We'll see what I can afford or build. 👍
Maybe a bad idea, but I was about to put mud flaps on my rex. I bet it would bring the front to a nice closure if you tried it?
I don't like mud flaps on EF's for some reason. Plus, they'll just catch air which is what I'm trying to avoid.
