I've been wanting to order some Speedokote clear but their descriptions are pretty confusing. I was leaning towards the glamour or production clear, but your description of the euro just helped me decide. Thx!
That's not a bad price at all and it does look like it lays down nice and even. What do you use for ventilation in your shop? I'd paint more at home if I had some decent ventilation. The old garage that was here and we tore down, I had to big explosion proof fans pulling through furnace filters mounted in the wall. I don't really have a spot to do that here and my neighbor on the one side would probably have a fit if I did lol
I'm not set up here at all for painting really ,I put the garage door up a foot and open the man door. and try to paint on a rainy day. for the amount of painting I do here.👍
Understand that his technique he uses to apply clearcoat isn't the best. Actually when im forced to teach ? it's imperative that the student understands why he's learning a certain technique. The student has to learn what the characteristics of the clearcoat is, understand how clear actually works. Information ill give here is ... 1. start at the bottom of a panel and work your way up (gives ya a second to see the clear coat below your eye so you'll be able to see it flow easier , we tend to load when starting from the top of a panel) 2. Get comfortable spraying 5 to 8% past the panel your actually spraying, keep in mind your fender will be on a car , chances are ? your spraying the adjacent panels . Trust me , you'll thank me later .
Oh, and Speedokote also needs to do a better job of describing just what you're getting. Some clears don't tell you whether or not the activator is included in the list price (some are and some aren't) and some of the products are hard to figure out how much product you're getting. All in all, it seems like good quality though. I'm going to order mine. I'm working on several projects and will probably go through a few gallons in the next few months.
the specs look good i would go with that or the glamour clear. on a project that special it never hurts to go with the clear made by the manufacture of the basecoat you will be using . this clear i was using is acceptable on most production jobs but i wouldn't call it high end. let me know what you think
I want to see Texas clearcoat
I use this exact clear when I’m not spot painting, and I have to say, for the price it’s really good.

Nice vid! Whqt would you recommend in terms of a sprayer for a beginner? For touch ups and small jobs like trailers for ex. Thank you

Have you tried their smr42 clear? Considering that for a 67 cougar project. I want a nice thick glossy clear that I can maintain for decades

Smr140 is a multi panel clear I like it
no complaints so far.
Are Speedokote products the same as Medallion/Rubber Seal? Both are located on the same street in Dayton Ohio--
im not sure but if you find out let me know. im just an end user like you.
🤣 “Canadian money is worthless”
I see your inline filter has some use. How long do you think you can use them until there not really working anymore?
no more than 10 uses , good question
