Merry Christmas, at this time of year we all need a preist - seriously if you are going to take fish for the table, do the kind thing, something trout and salmon fishermen have always done, respect the fish and not let it flap around on the beach.

Don't forget 12-14 inches of wooden broom handle will suffice as a cosh to administer the fishes last rights; Or a grapefruit sized smooth rock from the beach (which can be acquired & discarded on site - leaving less weight to carry). 😀👍✔

Look at a Skilhunt H04 RC head torch. Get the one with the TIR lens. £30 and a Samsung Q30 18650 battery. Great alternative than a Fenix or Led Lenser or Olight.
Edit: Trail Trek YT channel does good reviews in affordable head torches.

Looking at your box although it looks nice and tidy.. a small chopping board ... flexible type (There light and cheap)
Could be cut to fit at one end of the box...and a tube of super glue! Always handy and a couple of bubble floats?
Also although it’s not something you’ve forgotten ... you could make a tray to fit in the top recess of you tackle box so the

Bit late to the party here lol . However my essential but not obvious tackle box mystery item is … graphite powder . Apply a small amount to the male end of each rod section to prevent them getting stuck!
I had a nightmare once on a sea spray filled session on Chesil , blanked then found a few sections of my rods had got completely stuck together. Had to enlist the help of a passing jogger to twist them free in opposite directions even with two people we barely managed to free them up.

I noticed you mentioned a barometer app, have you or is it worth you doing a piece on how to use or the benefits. Never thought about it myself and don’t always get a choice of when I can go fishing but will start to make notes of pressure in a log .

Nice one Matt! Merry Christmas, if a bit late - I was having a leisurely coffee on Christmas morning and had just started watching this, when a loud voice from the Galley brought me to a halt "Put that away, you've got 20mins to be at Mother-in-laws to collect her for Christmas lunch". Only just got back to it! I'm trying to think what I always carry that you didn't mention.
Small plastic chopping board for bait prep - protects the knives. Small pair of split ring pliers (about £7 from eBay). Pair of long forceps hopefully enabling removal of deep hooks. Short length of rope & 1 or 2 light buckets - good for rinsing hands/fish, and the rope is for hoisting a bucket of water up, if pier or quayside fishing. Multi-tip screwdriver in casr something comes loose! Couple of bungees for strapping rods & rests to fishing cart/trolley. I bought an Olight headtorch, so always carry a couple of spare 18650 batteries in a waterproof container. Oh, and a tin of good humour pills for when the fishing doesn't go quite according to plan!
Enjoy the rest of the Christmas period, regards to you & yours, stay safe & well. Dave. 👍👍

I had a fondness for fender Japanese precision’s and jazz. Had corts but if your buying me a Christmas present I’d have to go for a musicman stingray- there’s a lot of fishing /music crossover here stingrays, bass lol

@@SaltwaterAngler I am not a fan on the P Bass. I only got small hands so that Jazz was a pleasure to play. I started out with an Ibanez K5 Korn Signature bass. It’s like a Ibanez Soundgear with custom spec and I took the plunge and got a Music Man Stringray 5 with the single Humbucker for the series/parallel pickup configuration. To be honest, it’s sat under my bed for so long I have hardly played it.
I will swap it with you for a Warwick Thumb 5 Neck Through.. 🤣 I was fortunate enough to meet someone with a Warwick Thumb bass and it was really something special. It has a monster tone and the neck radius was a perfect fit. They only thing I don’t like is the 4 grand price tag..

Thanks for yet another great video. I always have a couple of battery packs to recharge the phone and camera. They have saved the day a couple of times this year. Don't you normally have a float or 2 in there as well?
Have a great Xmas and here's to you breaking the shore caught Bass record in 2021 :)

A wide brimmed hat and sun glasses for summer and a thermal hat and sun glasses for winter . why a wide brimmed hat some of us know how hard it is trying to sleep with burnt lugholes and sun glasses coz you only want sun stroke once you won't forget them again and a thermal hat coz you can't put your head in your pockets tight lines all.
