"Your Honor" or "Yes sir" goes a long way. "Yeah" is too casual a response for court. Judge Caprio deserves all the respect in the world.

First time I've seen this. What a wonderful man this Judge is. So fair, and compassionate. I wish we had such a judge here.
I am from India. However, I am really pleased to see how the Hon. Judge’s simple and straightforward approach in each and every case with a fresh frame of mind, humour and always keeping the client’s response, financial situation and also the circumstances of the case in mind. Every judge in any country should take a leaf out of his humanitarian approach in dealing with the cases and the clients. Only law is not sufficient. How I wish I could meet him at least once to pay my respects. An outstanding judge indeed. Hope many more such judges to serve in all the countries in the world.
Folks may not know how powerful this man IS... he sends people away feeling free with happiness and joy in their heart and they spread it ALL about and the nation heals ( i would like to think)

I live in England and our Judges are not so bad- apart from the odd few, but Judge Caprio is amazing and full of humanity, I bet the city dread it when he is sitting, the money they loose with Caprio's leniency brings tears to their eyes... beautiful man.God bless him...

I wish, he should be here in India as a Chief Judge of Supreme Court. Even they violated the law, he is showering mercy to them due to their financial condition and at the same time, he managed and protected the law. The way, he listens and approaches the case, treats the people and giving judgement is just fabulous. He has been serving to his country for several years and dealt many cases, but still, he is charming and dealing each and every case as fresh and pay attention to it. He makes all of them feel free and happy, though they are going to lose some money for the day. I admired him as a Great Leader. God bless you and your family with good health and prosperity. Aww, he's the sweetest judge in the U.S. I swear, all judges should remember that we are all human, we sometimes make innocent mistakes, and we deserve a break from time to time. Despite that I'm a Florida native, and still in Florida, on behalf of the city of Providence, I just want to give Judge Caprio a hug! He loves his community; something you rarely see in the courtroom. We dont like "snowbirds" in Florida because they don't like to drive like we do, but I'll be nicer to RI drivers from now on :)
Law offenders in Providence, are very lucky to have this caring honorable judge hearing their cases. America would be a much better place, if all judges were like him!
I live in Canada and I want to come to Providence just to get a ticket and meet this awesome Judge.
This judge is fair, honest, caring, & understanding. More judges need to be like him. To have compassion like this & caring for the people shows that there is honor & respect in some places.

I love watching judge Caprio court proceedings he is so amazing and very fair to everyone
agreed. He seems to understand the people and the difficulties they are going through.
I enjoy this show, due to the fact the Judge is very realistic and compassionate and actually makes most judges look like bots. God Bless him and his family. I worked in downtown Chicago and parking is crazy, they have city tow trucks roving the streets. They don't ticket you they tow your car and the judges are merciless. Minimum $175 to get your car out of impound. you have to show registration and proof of insurance to get your car back. They don't allow you to get it out of your glove compartment so you have to get copies from your insurance company and the DMV which takes an extra day then they charge you $50 a day storage. But I did meet Scotty Pippen there when the Chicago Bulls were on there winning streak and they didn't even cut him any slack.

I love Judge Caprio. I live in Alabama and I got a ticket from a hillbilly local once because he said my blinkers weren't bright enough. I informed him I used hand signals and he said hand signals aren't legal. They ARE legal and he ticketed me anyway. When I went to the cashier to take care of the ticket, the chief was standing there, saw the ticket, and told me to forget about it because hand signals are legal in this state. The hillbilly local got fired a few weeks later for pulling people over to search, looking for weed, but not turning it in. I was driving my old 78 ford f100 and he assumed I had drugs. He was disappointed.

I have been watching many of these because the judge is so entertaining. It sure seems like there is a terrible shortage of parking spaces in Providence, especially near the hospitals and colleges.

It makes me laugh when the plaintiff has pictures. I've been binge watching Parking Wars (a few which were filmed in Providence) and when the driver angrily tells the PA officer they're going to take pictures to contest the ticket, the response is "Please, DO take photos." followed by the PA officer's laughter.
This judge is so kind, fair, decent, funny and a refreshing change from the usual sour puss judges we see especially on the TV court shows. He is so lovable I wish he was my grandfather.

The judge is extremely nice...wonder why and how some ppl could only say "Thankyou" to him instead to add a "Sir" or "Judge"...to appreaciate his kindness and respect him. Some ppl are really rude!!
i'm sure they're pretty flustered in the moment and it might not come as second nature to them to add the "sir" or "judge" at the end, since most people aren't terribly used to being in that sort of situation

There are many, many homes that have parking restrictions on the highway. Unless it's a privately owned road no-one, absolutely no-one owns the rights outside their house.
The sidewalks are not for cars but for people to use. Some people think they own sidewalks and people can walk in street. Even children walking to school.

As a German I can say foreign signs can be confusing at times. As a German who's never been to the us I can say: these signs make it abundantly clear no parking at any time and 3hr parking in front of those signs.

At 19:29 wasn't the 3 hour parking sign pointing to the right of his car? I'm as confused as the defendant was. It looks to me like it should have been legal to park where he was.
The alternative was "no parking at any time". He was legal to park where he did for only 3 hours and he admitted he was there longer then that.

Why can’t all judges be nice like him
The person by law responsible for the ticket is the person to whom the car is registered to irregardless as to who parked the car or was driving the car. Therefore when a car gets a parking ticket Providence should send a notice to the address on record of the registered owner of the car. What happens is they do not do this often the owner does not know their vehicle got ticketed until after 14 days when the fine triples then the city sends a notice to the registered owner of the car. Then the person shows up in court and the judge makes them feel good to pay the ticket cause he waives the late fees. The entire system is a complete SCAM !!! However, if its a female with a little child he usually waves the entire thing or if its a female and someone else drove it he usually waves it if the person is a male and he has 2 or 3 tickets he pays if its a female and they have been booted which is the only reason they show up and they have 9 tickets he is super lenient.
