Bro it doesn't matter if you're using a pencil or not even if you're not definitely you should apply a tempered glass it will protect it from scratches and if it drops down it will save your display in most scenario but now there's a catch definitely tempered glass can affect your device display quality if you apply a bad quality tempered glass here I would love to suggest you the esr tempered glass which I'm currently using right now

What about using the paper feel plastic screen protector over the tempered glass screen protector
Yeah you can use it it'll work absolutely fine but don't use paper feel screen protector as secondary tempered glass.
