Seeing that Cherry Coke commercial makes me realize how lucky I was to grow up in a time when the only war I knew of were either in G.I Joe cartoons, or the Cola Wars between Coke and Pepsi.
Burger King- The way that off screen voice sounds, it reminds me of either the voice of Baby Dale from Nickelodeon's Doug, Bobby from the cartoon, "Bobby's World", or Dave Coulier doing the voice of his ventriloquist dummy, Mr Woodchuck (from "Full House"). Energizer Batteries- With the amount of energy she gave to this commercial, I can tell Mary Lou Ratton had a great time starring in this commercial.
$1.99 back then = $5.50 today when adjusted for inflation. A lot of factors can increase the price such as the cost of eggs/bacon and other commodities as well as the price of fuel to deliver it to the restaurants. Also, the days of corporations offering consumers the best deal to stay competitive seem to be over; price gouging for maximum profit is king.
Burger King-he just found proof that mutants are amongst us Moonlighting-if she were to have done that, his reaction would be obvious Busch-HHHH.. Cherry Coke-missed opportunity to have Lionel Richie be the one to say "OUTrageous"at the end of the ad MacGyver-the inspiration for many Boy Scout troops
Yes, I do remember this specific Hi-C commercial when I first started watching your videos in college (in 2013) And I like Cherry Coke than Vanilla Coke
Boy, I remember the fervor over the artificial heart. It was hailed as a medical miracle, but we only really got half the story because people with artificial hearts didn't live all that long after the surgery. Now it's fairly commonplace, and recipients are living longer than they did back then. In the future, it'll be just another prosthetic, like joint replacement surgery. The power supply will last longer, and people will be able to live out their natural lives after getting one. Then people will start having their hearts replaced just on general principle.
It was really a medical experiment done on men who would have most likely died in the process of waiting for a donor heart anyway. And yes, the part about the men having strokes or becoming vegetables is often glossed over but I've posted several news briefs like this from back then that go over all of their medical issues and deaths.
@@80sCommercialVault Yeah, I remember the name Barney Clark, who got the Jarvik-7. It was big news here because the transplant happened in SLC where I lived. What I didn't know until today when I looked up 'artificial heart' on Wikipedia was that Barney only lived for 112 days after the operation, he was confused a lot of the time and he asked to be put out of his misery. The news mentioned his death but I don't remember hearing any of those other things. Of course, I was only 12 at the time and wasn't exactly paying a lot of attention. I was busy playing with my Star Wars figures. But at least poor Barney had enough time to be with his family on Christmas, celebrate New Year's Eve and see a few more days than he would've. I know some dead people who weren't so lucky, including my own dad, and I envy those people of the future I mentioned.
I'm wondering if the ABC "Dr. Tim Johnson" was related to the Dr. Tim Johnson from WTOP-TV on 70s Commercials Vol 24. He talked to Jay-Z back then! They look almost the same!
1:48 - Given the recent news about Willis, this makes me remember how charismatic and energetic he was as an actor in his prime.
no decade like the 80's. i miss them so much. simpler times
Anything before the internet and social media was better times!
Love these old school commercials 🔥🍻

Cherry Coke tasted better back then.

Seeing those marquis styled bumpers with orchestrated music always gives me the nostalgic fuzzies.
Love that Sunday night movie theme
A VHS tape of OKC area commercials! Nice!
That Cherry Coke ad was pretty epic. Haven't seen that one before 🧈🧈🧈
OUTRAGEOUS! 🍒

Me too
@@MyownpersonKeta Way better than these ones today
The 80s rocked.
Mary Lou, Mary Lou... we miss this supercharged energy!
2:04 I started having back pain from my chair and was complaining, then I hear "Back Pain......." caught me so off guard.
That was the original price of the Grand Slam. $7.99 now.
0:32 - That old man is pretty chill. If I heard that voice, I’d be looking up an exorcist.
Sounds like Gizmo voice to me
Imagine, Denny’s slam for only $1.99? That’s probably closer to $8 or $9 today.
$9 would be the "on sale" price, nowadays.

Wow, finally a string of commercials from the OKC market!
Charles Haid from Hill St Blues in that LA Beer spot.
Ngl, that tiny voice in the pregnant woman’s stomach kind of reminds me of Elmo.
That Busch commercial likely inspired their still current ad campaign….
Burger King-he just found proof that mutants are amongst us
Moonlighting-if she were to have done that, his reaction would be obvious

I’ve been a fan of this channel for years. Thank you so much for what you do.
That last commercial was right. We did love MacGyver, and still do.

That's Dave Madden (Reuben Kincaid on the Partridge Family) doing the voice over for the ABC promo.
Remember everyone… it all started with Hi-C
The best way to watch old school commercials is right here on UA-cam and not from a second hand stream on twitch.
This commercial block is Outrageous like Chica...Cherry Cola!
I ❤️ CoverGirl!
Even though I wasn’t born in this time I wish I could have been in it better than now that’s for sure
Your comment on cherry coke 🤣🤣🤣

Jaclyn Smith for Max Factor!
