Everyone noting Turin's excellent commentary are absolutely correct. As someone who is into some niche games, well... let's just all be grateful that we have such quality casting in a somewhat small market. Turin is out here punching way above his weight and I hope he gets even more widespread acknowledgement someday.
If he ever got into sc2 he’d 100% revive the scene. Tragic he likely won’t but we can’t have amazing casters for everything
Love the detail in Turin's commentary! I can have this on in the background and feel like I know exactly what's happening all over the map, unlike a lot of commentators. Really love getting some high level CoH on the channel too!

I like how you give out small unit analysis in game. You do it for total war at the begininng of most battles and straight mid game too, same with age with the added landmarks too. I like the small build outlinesthat can point you in a good direction usually. Great stuff turin you deserve so many more likes and followers just always good stuff always.
Crazy game. I was convinced the game was over for DAK when they lost the armored car at 14:25. It felt like they were on their final push, only to lose their key units last minute, only for the USF to re-man the anti-tank guns and spam more infantry. Extremely clutch comback for the DAK
I started playing CoH 10 years ago. Your commentary is spot on, you really get the pace of and the risk-taking/over-extending elements of game.
12:04 was such a hilarious exchange - I just imagine it happening IRL, and just crack up
Imagine some troops like, positioning outside the entryway of a building prepping to breach
Meanwhile, the squad they were 'evicting' had already left through the backdoor, and just casually tosses their own nade into the house

I love the respect you have for the players - Kimbo and Orangepest are definately top tier - and the impressively strong grasp on the core mechanics and meta dynamics this commentary displays, particularly for someone who only recently joined the franchise. From my perspective of watching community content since vCoH days, already the best COH3 casting around! Please keep up the great work!
Was listening Orangepest talking about the Hellcats earlier. Seems to think because they’re cheaper and faster, they’re a better counter to the Mario karts than the Sherman. I guess because the US infantry usually has that side of the battle won, provided you can get rid of Mario you’re winning.
I heard him talking about that too, and I've been using them in my games. We'll see how the top level play evolves, but it makes sense to with how dominant USF infantry are with full upgrades especially with the inf support center.
Yeah I think the speed really matters. A weak mario kart can outrun a Sherman even in reverse, but the Hellcat can catch it and finish the kill.

@@GrandsonofRoyalOakcost too I think. Trouble I’ve had with fighting the Carro is even if you kill 4 of them with better armour, 6 more show up while you’re still catching your breath. You just can’t keep up with the attrition with beefier units.
@@turinRTStrouble is with these high council members, I know I’ll listen to his advice, give it a go and within 10 minutes there’ll be 6 Carro’s sitting in my base doing some redecorating
Pro tip, DAK just like US and brits, has an upgrade building, its the little arrow that points upwards in the bottom right.

Incredible game. It shows how dominant American Airborne can be early game, but if you can't solidify the win the late game is pretty tough. Also S tier casting by Turin

motorcycle/jeep pushing used to be an important and incredibly controversial part of the early game in CoH1. I think it disappeared in CoH2. Interesting to see it make a comeback here.

The online scene is pretty small but I feel like you would enjoy the game as a player. It's very detail oriented, awesome modeling of weapon and vehicle behaviour/qualities and the factions are well balanced.

Do you guys think the game is good enough right now to start playing or should i wait till they patch and improve, I wanted to buy day 1 but the game is getting nuked on steam review.
I've got a couple hundred hours in coh1 and I don't wanna admit to how much time I've wasted in 2. I can say that coh3 has been the smoothest launch of any of those titles and has been the most balanced out the gate. There are some key features that are missing from the game such as replays via the main menu or the ladder board(Ladder board can be accessed via a google search).
The game has 4 different factions, more than any previous titles, and a campaign that's more fleshed out. I've not had any game breaking bugs occur and no bug splats.
There are some issues with balance that could be fixed and the game desperately needs more maps. Most of those reviews on steam are from sour people who either want everyone to drop what their doing and go play coh1 instead or those who wanted the next technological leap in graphics/innovation for an RTS. Take them with a grain of salt.
Italian campain is is janky and still could use patch of two, and AI is dumber then in COH2, but you can still have fun single/coop vs AI. Regarding multiplayer, it can be rough if you play against someone who is using latest op build, but I would still recomend it. ALso If you are not sure then you can always wait month or two for sale and get better game and save some money.
No regrets after buying it.
So the core gameplay is great. The game feels awesome to play and it is as fun as it looks. HOWEVER, the game is quite buggy, UI elements are severely lacking, quality of life features are good in some areas and half-baked in others, and otherwise lacking some polish. I'm weary to call the game unbalanced yet as the meta is still developing. Regardless, I love the game. It's a lot of fun but you will need to decide if you are willing to put up with (most likely) a year of serious jank. It's 60 bucks, which is steep, but considering the number of hours I put into Coh2 over the years and how awesome that game ended up being i figured it wouldn't be a waste of my money.

USF Airborne infantry invulnerability ability is crazy.
Would the flak tank help the DAK challenge the reinforcement of the airborne by shooting down the transport plane?

I usually dont care about CoH, but I really, really enjoy those commentary videos! I prefer them to your life commentary (when you are playing), because it helps a lot if you can explain whats happening on both sides.
in 1v1 Airbourne is the meta, Pathfinder spam into an early Sherman.
Wonderful game, outstanding commentary (as always). You really should sell out and move to the big games, easily - by FAR - the best. I say "should" - please don't!

I was pretty good at CoH1, but I am too old for such shennanigans nowadays. I have really enjoyed watching it, though.
Shermans are better overall, but Hellcat brings the antitank capability out of the box without needing to upgrade to 76 mm, plus it can still run with a .50cal and be a decent anti infantry support element. If he was able to pump out 2 Hellcats, with AT gun support and bazookas, I doubt that DAK player would be able to bully him like that, but the US player failed to maintain the critical mass needed to oneshot Mario carts.
Incredible game from DAK, I was like "tickets are 450 to 100, this is over" and then I look at the video timestamp, and it is like right in the middle of the replay.

the dak player seemed to play so much better but matchup seemed uphill. this reinforce ability everywhere on the map to ur blobs of infantry seems op. and it seemingly makes u play with a big ugly blob instead ...
You counter it as you do with any other case of infantry blobbing- pinning with MGs and AOE weapons. Infantry blobbing is only a problem if your opponent if you let it be one!

Lot of pro players have specific builds they follow in order to maximize timings, i find. A wirbelwind would have also been a good answer to airborne spam, but maybe that would have been too much early fuel for them to want to use it, especially with the ease airborne can bazookas. All I'm saying is there are definitely answers to infantry hordes.
Hell, you can even sort of see this when they bring out the 8rad- definitely scatters most of the present forces for a solid time.

Pathfinders have flares to locate, smokes to nullify and rifle grenades to kill any MG squads the DAK player could put out.
Finally someone who knows how to use assault grenadiers.

Note that usually you also get all the vehicle upgrades too, they cost only manpower..But DAK is weak, I d lose for sure, this is Orangepest, best of the best.Thats why it works.

In every infantry battle in this match, it seems like the American player loses 3-4 models while the German player only loses 1. This has been the case in both COH3 and the entire COH series. Even the initial cost of engaging in the Early eatern front wasn't this steep. It appears that Relic is definitely favoring the Axis. In fact, rather than that, Relic seems to hate America quite a bit.
