I’m glad their live TV debut with new lead singer Jean Terrell, singing “Up The Ladder To The Roof,” was included here. It was a great introduction to the “new” Supremes and what became a Top Ten debut hit single for them. ❤😎🎶💿
Mary Wilson, The SUPREME Supreme kept The Supremes going for 17 years,, from 1961 to 1977 at Motown Records.. Her alto filler voice that went everywhere in the harmonies, & style, will never be forgotten.. The Supremes.. MOTOWN Rock & Roll R&B Soul POP Music ROYALTY.. Florence, Diana, Cindy, Jean,Lynda, Sherrie, Susaye & Mary Wilson.. What a run,, no other female group has yet to come close to their success & style..
Their second Love Child performance they performed on January 5th 1969 is my favourite as you can hear Mary and Cindy doing the backing vocals ❤ Their You Can’t Hurry Love performance is one of the most iconic performances by anyone ever, Flo sounds great and Diana’s earring catch is legendary, I also love their Fats Waller Medley and Forever Came Today performances, again as you hear Mary and Cindy’s vocals on the latter unlike the actual record. I also love their live version of The Happening, really I love them all lol
The only performances missing here are 1965’s “You’re Nobody Til Somebody Loves You”; 1966’s “My Favorite Things / Hit Medley”; and 1969’s performance of “Livin in Shame”.
What happened to "Stop ! In The Name of Love"? That should have been included. It is great seeing these performances again. Did you know that Diana Ross never received a Grammy?
....well, although these ARE 'Iconic', One has to remember the OTHER performances that came along with these appearances....But, THESE are my own personal Ones....(cont.) 10. *"Love Is Like An Itching..."* ; ...because of the "That Girl" flip Wigs, Ed noticing the beautiful Yellow Dresses, and the stunning rendition of "More"...... 9. *"My Favorite Things"* ; the sweeping Pink chiffon Dresses, Diana & Flo's Vidal Sasson hairdos, and the "Supremes Hits Medley", RIGHT after performance.... 8. *"Come See About Me"* ; ...their FIRST performance, and Diana's 'bug Eyes' garnering attention.... 7. *"No Matter What Sign You Are"* ; ...NOT for that performance (although the audience gasping at their entrance was cute), but for the STIRRING rendition of "The Impossible Dream", the Gold lame dresses, & the version of "You're Nobody 'Til You're Somebody..." w/ Ed... 6. *"Love Child" (2nd appearance)* ; ..Mary's Marilyn McCoo flip Wig, the crushed velvet pantsuits, and Diana getting the 'Afro Wig" right...."I'm Living In Shame", was a plus... 5. *The Supremes / Temptations Medley* ; ...and, the additional performances of "In And Out Of Love" & "Thou Swell", with Diana in that FABULOUS bouffant Wig.... 4. *"Someday We'll Be Together"* ; ...the (longer) Supremes Medley & it being Diana's last appearance with "..The Girls.." made it special, but their cried off makeup, gives it a special glow.... 3. *"You Can't Hurry Love"* ; ...yes, *THE EARRING* , but the "Symphony" Medley and those GORGEOUS silver lame halter Dresses, upped their GAME.... 2. *"The Happening"* ; it was Flo's LAST appearance, and although the "Millie" Medley lacked a bit, the Girls were at the TOP of their Game....Mary being in FRONT, a plus.... 1. *"Love Child" (1st appearance)"* ; ...The SHOCK! ....even though Ed wanted to "..fire Diana, for this..." ...his Tiny Tim joke eased the shock...it got to #1, didn't it!? ; ) ...special plus goes to the "Funny Girl" Medley, afterwards.....
The only real competition the beatles ever had. The fun thing both groups loved each other and the music they made. Sad they never got together to make some great music.
Flo sure filled out those gowns in all the right places. What a beautiful woman! Why do I watch You Can't Hurry Love and wish I was Flo's tambourine?

Pure Magic !!!
you can clearly hear Flo on those earlier performances
So what. That's why they turned down her mic. Too loud and too drunk.
@@RonRossmore Unpopular opinion, but sadly i agree with you, i don't think she's a bad singer, but i've never liked her voice

They never performed the song in full on Sullivan, only as part of a hits medley a couple of times.
