    As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.

    The only thing those dogs require is consistency and love and they will appear to be the most loyal ones. One day I will own one or two of those. What a wonderful breed.

    As a Doberman owner/lover and a fellow dog trainer, I love the fact that you are using toy rewards instead of treats. People are so food obsessed and transfer that on their dogs. I would much rather create prize envy and use toys. I have been a vet tech for 12 years and the misuse of food can lead to obesity, kidney/liver problems and GDV. Excellent job. Gorgeous Dog! ♥♥♥

      I just feed my dog some of her kibble for training, and then also using the bowl and taking it. Now if you do this in a big yard, you got Exercise, Slow feeding and Training session combined.

    Dobermann - best breed in the world! I had them for almost 30 years. Having one isn't easy - you need to be a very experienced and patient handler to manage to channel their oceans of energy in to a happy Dobermann. It's not for everyone...

    Great video. He obviously loves to work with his human friends. Beautiful dog. His stance and poise look perfect (2:25-2:30). The intelligence in their faces makes Dobermans special to me (I've had two). Best companions you could ask for.

    This is one of my favorite doberman Pinscher UA-cam videos. Nice work. Maybe I can learn a few things to teach my 21-month doberman boy as well. He does real well with a lot and they are extremely smart and easy to teach. Some things I just don’t have the proper training knowledge and I taught Zeus everything he currently knows.
    How old was your dog at the time this video was shot?

    PLEASE HELP. I'M FOSTERING A 1.5 Y/O FEMALE DOBERMAN W/DOG REACTIVITY & I'M WORRIED ABOUT HER FUTURE (I don't think she is adoption ready...but she is listed for adoption)
    I have fostered dogs for years & am currently fostering a 1.5 y/o F Doberman. I'm worried for her, so I put her through GROUP obedience out of my pocket. She completed the 6 weeks & her socialization is still the main issue (which is why I chose GROUP class). Oddly, she lives with a male Weim-GSP, & female Am-Eng bulldog & 2 cats.
    She improved with people reactivity BUT her dog reactivity is AWFUL. She made small progess with big dogs & NO PROGRESS with the little schnauzer in the group class (EVERY class, multiple times she zones on the schnauzer & LUNGES, GROWLS, FROTHS). She's on a Herm sprenger & she hurts herself, gets frustrated & just spirals for a good 20 seconds (feels like eternity) before she goes in a sit (she doesn't relax, she is still clearly amped). We're redoing the 6 week GROUP class. She knows the commands, I need her have coping mechanism & impulse control around other dogs.
    Do you have any advice on how I can stop the reactivity? It happens on leash walks too? I try to be proactive, but she knows EVERY house with a dog & the group class has dogs & becomes amped. I put her in sits, body block, "look at me" but she sits waiting me out (I have to go in the classroom &finish my dog walk, so it ends up with her hurting herself by herm sprenger correction pops or just lunging
    AS I tell her leave it)
    I have done this group class (1 & 2) with another dogs needing socializing & it's a great company with a good syllabus, spacious class etc.

  • @bcaffrey98

    Look up dog shows in your area and visit the breeders at the show. Ask tons of questions. Ask for tips in picking a puppy and what to look for in a good Dobie. Breeders love their breeds and are helpful when you're interested in their breed. Also watch obedience trials and talk to participants. Ask who good trainers are in your area and take your puppy to school. An obedient dog is a wonderful companion and dobies love learning with their humans.

    • @zandrello
      @zandrello 9 років тому

      if you wanna be technical, all Dobermans descend from the origination in Germany. LoL ;) you can start by finding a local training center in your area, or you can knuckle down, keep watching vids, doing research, and train it yourself. The key is repetition and positive reinforcement. :)

    It's not your dog it's you. You need to put the time and effort to train your dog. All dogs are trainable. They all have brains correct?? So there is no difference between dogs you just have to have the time and commitment in training your dog the right way and keep at it. Training never stops
