I started journaling in 2014 with just a notebook and a blue pen, since then my process has changed a lot, I made a journal filled only with post its (really fun for tiny reflections), an art journal, a couple of scrapbooking journals and I been doing junk journaling for almost two years now. It's definitely a great hobbie that I reccommed to everyone.
"Success with journaling is enjoying the experience and getting something from it" - I might actually write that out as a reminder to myself! I'm finally getting back to working on my 'me' journal but have to stop myself getting annoyed when I only have the time to do 1 page... but that's better than not working on it at all. Having recently purchased a selection of your 'zine pages' and being totally blown away by the amount included in each purchase, I shall treat myself to your new kit! And maybe even make a journal for it... as if I need an excuse 😂 Wishing you and your lovely family a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2022! 🥳❤
I've been watching a lot of how-to junk journal videos and end up overwhelmed with all the ideas, and intimidated by all the beautiful designs. Your videos are like an antidote to those feelings, encouraging me to just dive in and journal in my own way. Thank you!
Thank you Johanna...it's been more than a year for me in Journalling, Memory keeping. All thanks to you...you are the reason. I got the concept of Journals from youuu🥰🥰🥰🥰
We should all do what works for us! I have scrapbooks going back to the early 90s. They are general by year but the children have baby book, school and sports scrapbooks as well. My quilting journal is part scrapbook and part journal. I’m having fun with it so far.
I have journalled every day since I think it was October in 2019. In this journal I keep memories like cards I have been given that mean a bit to me, weather, world events, things about my day and how I feel and of late I have been decorating the back side of a C6 envelope and then sticking that into the journal to print out news stories. I am also on day 188 as of NY Eve 2021 of what I term 'whimsical drawings' - pretty proud of that. Some of those entries are only one page, others ramble on a bit 😀 I've bought the kit for January, I have a LARGE book I made this year that might just accommodate and extra bit added into the journal and thus use more pages 😄best get another LARGE book made. I looked at journaling as being a history keeper. I am sad my mum could not get the opportunity to keep her diaries, they were thrown into a fire by her father *sigh* May you and your family have an incredibly blessed 2022.
Found your channel in nov'21 and in '22 I'll journal purely to record my daily life. Cus of mental health struggles, I feel as if my life is blindly flying by. I'll keep it super flexible like yours. Thank you, your ideas are very helpful. Have a beautiful year filled with vigour and happiness! 💛
I do something similar but keep it as a spiritual journal- almost like a spiritual diary. I love the ease of it and that I can put pages together relatively quickly. It’s a wonderful creative way to express myself. Great tips here!
good advice, and it is just that simple,I’ve been following you for a long time,I always like your idea to photo copy hankies, your family has grown, and how they must love looking at what you’ve created
Ah Johanna, you're so great. Thank you for saying these things. You have inspired and motivated me, also to not be perfectionistic and just cut my papers and not worry too much that they are not super straight. Thank you!! Xx
An excellent video Johanna and the January kit is absolutely beautiful, thankyou sincerely for sharing. Love the ‘past and future’ quote. Memory keeping has definitely been therapeutic during these challenging times. Sending lots of love ❤️
Johanna - just came across your channel. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. I love hearing "journaling success is just enjoying the process". It was giving me an ok to start. Have a blessed new year.
Such pretty colors !! I just realized I didn’t make a journal for my new year!! I was focused with my December daily 😱 but this kit will help me get started !! Thank you and it’s a great idea !!
I really enjoyed this video. I have just started journalling a few months ago after a friend sent me a video to help me to relax. I really enjoy doing it. Thanks for sharing.
You are truly talented, you give so much inspiration, when I give out a journal, I always tell people to check you out on how to have fun in their journal's. Thank you, and looking forward to watching more.
Thank you for the tips and tricks on how to make my journals more interesting :D I usually just write a lot of text and add some stickers or washi tape, but nothing too fancy. :)
I started journalling just before the pandemic and I really enjoy finding inspiration from your videos. I recently had surgery on my dominant arm, so journalling has been difficult:(
I love that picture of you and your family. You all look so happy. Great advice on starting a journal. Just do it whenever the mood takes you. Enjoy it. Wishes for a Happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to you and your family.
Thank You so Much for Sharing ! You are so Creative..and I enjoyed listening to your voice- so calm and relaxing. Thank you for the ideas and tips. Many Blessings. 🙏 Awesome techniques. 💯👌
Thank you for sharing so much of your process in your own journal as well as your journal making. I have become an avid junk journal maker amd you have been a beautiful source of inspiration. Happy 2022
I just love your journaling style. You are who inspired me several years ago to start this type of journaling and you still keep it real. I love the channels who create art in their journals as well but if I can't include that artistic effort in the memories I'm trying to preserve it doesn't serve me as well. Excited to have a new kit from you each month!
Great advice, Johanna! I can't seem to stick to my planner and get it finished. I will, before I start a new one. Thank you, take care and have a Happy New Year!
Thanks for sharing your tips and journal Johanna! I’ve slacked a bit in my journaling over the last few months, but I feel ready to jump back in with the junk journal January challenge! 💜💜
Loved this style of video so much! I enjoyed seeing some of your day to day life with the journaling. Loved the pages you created and have just purchased the kit. Wishing you a very Happy New Year 💕
Where can I find the small printer you have I've been looking for a good one to keep doing my scrapbook I'll appreciate the help thanks keep up with your creativity 🙂
Johanna, I’ve been bingeing your channel for a few weeks now and have made a few smaller journals which I love. I would love to create a larger journal (something about the size you use) but I can’t seem to find paper big enough. Can you tell me what dimensions yours is and where you source your larger papers? Thanks so much for all the inspiration 💕
Hey Katie! My larger pages are 12x12 scrapbook papers, but the tip is the fold them off centre. That way you have one half that’s a shorter page and one that’s a full size page for the size of your book. It gives me just enough full size pages to make it look and feel full xx
I did! I’m super lucky! It’s really fun! It prints really fast and the sticky back is AWESOME! So fast and convenient. The print quality could be a little better, but that’s probably to be expected with any pocket printer!
I have a canon selphy and also a Polaroid pocket printer which you saw in this video! I just got it for Christmas, I quite like it so far, especially the sticky back photos 🥰
I see you are using a mini photo printer by Polaroid. Have you found it to be reliable? I’m considering buying one and have seen mixed reviews on several mini printers.
It’s a Polaroid pocket printer. I just got it for Christmas! It prints 2x3” photos with sticky back paper so you can peel and stick them (my favourite feature of the printer!)
I hope I am not disturbing, but, I was wondering where to begin to start to gather supplies for journaling? I know you said to choose what kind of journal you want to begin with, but, where do you buy them? Writing journals are probably found on Amazon, but, stickers and art supplies? I am just beginning, and, I do not know where to find any supplies.
I make my own journals! You can too! I have some tutorials on my channel and there are heaps of others out there aswell! As for stickers and art supplies, they aren’t necessary but if you want to try them, i’d try ebay, or have a look in stores or dollar stores near you. If you don’t mind spending more you could also look on etsy or other online stores such as The Washi Tape Shop. There are so many options that it can be overwhelming! So i would personally start with less x
@@JohannaClough Oh my goodness! Thank you very much for your advice. It is very kind of you. I am very excited to begin. I have been thinking about how to begin, and, you are correct, less is definitely more sometimes. Thank you again for taking the time to write to me. You are much appreciated. I think I will begin my journaling journey very soon.
I would love to know what photo printers you use at home. Right now I have to mail order my photos and it really slows down my ability to journal and scrapbook.
I have the Canon Selpy which can print 4x6 photos, (or I can put photos onto a grid to print smaller with the canon selphy) and I just got the Polaroid pocket printer with sticky back paper for Christmas! It prints 2x3 photos. I also have an instax mini.. I’m spoiled for choice these days. I used to just get my photos printed monthly at kmart x
It’s so fun! It prints really fast and the sticky back is perfect for journaling! So fast and convenient. The print quality could be a little better, but that’s probably to be expected with any pocket printer!
A helpful thought: No amount of guilt can change the past, no amount of anxiety can change the future. Brain: ...Ok, but we're gonna at least try, right? UGH
Hope you don't mind me chiming in...I would love to incorporate my personal pictures in my journals but don't have a printer or a desktop computer and I've been considering a small printer that connects to my phone but...the other day I saw someone make a photo collage to send off to the local store to be printed! Haven't tried it yet so I can't attest to the quality but it makes sense and I can't wait to try it. Sounds like a great way to get multiple images and only pay for 1 copy.
Hi Joanna, can you please tell me what kind of printer you use? I'm going to shop for a new one because mine does not copy color good, so I cannot download digital kits. Thanks!
I have a really crappy/inexpensive canon printer, when I do print at home I use off white/natural/linen coloured paper at 125GSM or more, but I got this particular kit printed at officeworks in Australia. It cost me about $1.20 a page or something for 300GSM, and the print and paper quality is lovely. I highly recommend checking out your local print shop if possible! X
