I think personality still shows and everyones own style will develope in time and ”take over” in art journaling. We all get inspiration and learn from each other, and try out the learned things that makes us feel good in our own art journalings 🤩 I think feeling good is the most important thing in art journaling 🩷 At least for me ”no rules” means that. I think it’s probably also because it’s a lot of the same companies making the supplies that you will find at your average craft store, online or in person, and there are trends, they definitely lead to a very specific “scrapbooking style” look. If you want to do something that looks substantially different you would probably need to go to thrift stores or find old magazines and find images and such to cut out that are unique and interesting to you, print them out, or create them yourself. Or found objects, pressed leaves and flowers, etc. Make some weird combinations. Combine a national geographic and a vogue into a spread. Go nuts! There are definitely some very interesting collage artists out there, and this is essentially collage in a book.

Thank you so much Sari 🤗🩷 I get that block also 😖 It is so frustrating when it happens. But lately I have accepted it as a creative break and then it it time to put those paint brushes down. It feels like creative batteries needs to be restored from time to time 🔋 Then I put my focus on other things and the inspiration comes back eventually and suddenly from somewhere. Sometimes faster and sometimes slower 🙂🎨 As you wrote, seeing others do pretty things feels really good when creative block is on 🌸 Hopefully your block goes away soon and the creative magic takes over again 🥰☀️✨
