- Creative journaling can be such a wonderful outlet for anyone! There are lots of ways to approach creative journaling included guided journals, bullet journals, planners, and blank notebooks. In part 1 of this video, I am sharing a peek into some of my past creative journaling experiences, as well as some ideas for prompts to cover in your creative journaling. Supplies are linked below!

I picked up the hello happy journal because I loved all the different page illustrations. But as I began working in it, I found it became redundant. So rather than ditch it, I began collecting prompt challenges and questions from Pinterest and redesigning the pages (with my HP stickers of course!) to go with each of those daily prompts and am really enjoying it. Like a lot of others, I have lots of planners and stickers but not much to plan so Im always looking for other outlets for using the stickers in my collection. Surprisingly, I haven't found much so this video was right on time! 😊
Love that you are making that journal work for you! I agree that at times those re-occurring prompts can get a little boring, so it is nice to change it up with the ones that you are finding online.
Thanks. I like the part where you just write down what you were feeling that day. Sometimes it’s enough to just recognize I felt whatever. Then I can go on. I might recognize it is caused by something I need to work on or maybe give it to the Lord and leave it there.
Yes, I completely agree! Acknowledging where I am starting for the day just helps me take note and then move on from there.
I’ve only been in the planner world for less than 2 years, so I’d be interested to go back and see how covid lockdowns changed journaling, and see if it returned to “normal” afterwards. I loved seeing the flip-through of all your journals!
Good idea on checking how journaling has changed.
Your bullet Journal is absolutely beautiful. I'm jealous
Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for sharing your awesome creativity with us. Much appreciated. I love creative journaling. Enjoyed this. Thanks!
Thanks so much for watching!
I live all these different journals and ways to journal! Thanks for making a video about my favorite subject!!!
You are so welcome!
I have a Gratitude journal from the happy planner and it's helpful to me, twice a day I sit down and write
That is fabulous!
Will you be covering the actual creative aspect of journaling in Part 2? You didn't mention the decorations, the stickers. I would love to know where you got some of the stickers from, especially the stackable cups.
Yes, I will be diving into all the details throughout the month of March as part of my Patreon exclusives - www.patreon.com/scrappywife
Great timing for me. I love doing the spreads but don’t have a ton to plan so have been trying to decide how best to use it as a creative journal. Thanks!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for sharing all the different creative journaling ideas!
You are so welcome!
But Elisa, how and when do you have time for all this? I have a full-time job (like you!) and I care for my 89-year-old parents in my home. I'm barely keeping up as is. Love love, what you're doing!! So beautiful! Just wish I could make more time for it.
Totally get the time constraints. You have to remember that the journals I share on here are a compilation of a bunch of entries over time. It takes me 5-15 minutes a day for a journal entry. I also tend to do journaling on the go. I am diving into all these details in parts 2-5 of this series on Patreon in the month of March - www.patreon.com/scrappwife
@@ScrappyWife 15 minutes is doable!! I think I am wanting it to be "perfect" so instead, just need to let go and let GOD!! lol, thanks!
Great overview and extension for what I already do...thanks for sharing your creativity!
Thanks for watching...glad it was helpful!
Love your journals and tips. Where did you get the brown zippered bullet journal case? Love it!
It is a beautiful case from Galen Leather!
Love this and can’t wait for Patreon in March!! Can you tell me what your customized spots were for the Plum Paper planner daily inserts??
Thanks Christie! I left several of mine blank actually, but I did label gratitude, schedule, tasks, quote, and reflection.
Love this thank you 💕 love the different ways of doing it and styles. I’m trying to get back into using mine 😇

@@ScrappyWife thank you, excited to see all of this in action!
What do you do with your old planners and journals, do you keep them? I have tried to find Information on this subject and no ever talks about this, a video on this would be great.
I actually talk about that in this video right here - ua-cam.com/video/3rsgYMqRHgM/v-deo.html - I reorganize completed journals and projects toward the end of the video.
Enjoying this topic. What size is the Archer & Olive journal?
They offer so many different sizes over there. I generally like the A5 size.

Thanks for watching!
Thank you what do you recommend for a someone that is starting
You are so welcome...thanks for watching!
I do try to do a diary everyday, but I don’t do this kind of journaling. I have similar types of journals but don’t feel I have anything to write about, I don’t do anything, don’t go anywhere and done feel anyone cares about me….despite a husband two kids and 3 grandkids. I don’t see the point of writing this down, don’t have anything to be grateful for……but maybe just the fact I have woken up is something to be grateful for……
I am very sorry that you are struggling in that way. I do find that gratitude leads to more gratitude. Simply starting by finding small things - grateful for my meal, grateful for a good tv show, grateful for my favorite song, etc. starts to change my mindset and then I can identify even more things to be grateful for.
So many great topics!
They are! It always feels good to just get thoughts out on paper.
Is there anything we would need before March to get started on the creative journals?
I would just take a look at what planners or notebooks you have that you might like to start creative journaling in. No need to pick up anything new!
Thank you sooo much
💕💕💕
⚾️ I track a lot of things in my planner relating to things that happen with family members but I don't think it is creative Journaling. Or is it?
I tend to think of creative journaling in a pretty broad framework. If you are enjoying it and it is sparking your creativity, I think it counts 😉
did part 2 ever happen?
It did, on Patreon :)
