Super good dudes and amazing tag team champions. My mom met Smash at Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach back in the late 80's. She had locked her keys in her car and was waiting for AAA to show up. Smash just happened to be in the parking lot after his golf game and went to my moms rescue. Hard to believe how Vince was worried about Bill dying in the ring in the late eighties, and yet Bill's still alive now, after so many have died, including the younger Crush. :(

If there was any better way to establish the 'Every Man for Himself' stipulation in the Royal Rumble, THAT was the way to do. Have tag team members open the Rumble match vs each other...! And Ax & Smash pulled it off. I remember soon as Smash entered, they kinda just had a brief staredown, then Ax threw up his hands & shrugged & said 'Alrighty Smash, ol' buddy, let's just do this' & off they went! I remember Jess Ventura & Gorilla Monsoon on commentary even contemplating whether or not this could've led to a falling out of sorts between Ax & Smash, but that wasn't going to happen. What other tag team since has been good enough to accomplish something like that? I mean, try to imagine a tag team closing a show after a Brock Lesnar match or something. I didn't like that at the time, but it was probably better to have a contingency plan in place than to not have the L.O.D. on the roster at all.
I too didn't have a problem with it then and now, honestly Demolition was getting up there in age anyway and did it all as a tag team
@@jeromelawler902 Not really. People just look down on it now because they weren't pushed properly with it. If they were people would have an entirely different impression of Demolition with Crush and his incorporation just being a bad penny.
These guys were great Smash did great interviews and promos
Demolition and The Hart Foundation were the 2 greatest tag teams.
The British Bulldogs were equally good, imo their accomplishments would've been on par with Demolition and the Harts...but Dynamite hurting his back killed it.
The Rockers were pretty damn good workers too
Umm, the Road Warriors?
Bill Eadie, a stalwart performer for many years. He was a consummate professional!
When I think of wwf tag champs they always come to mind first people don't realize how over they were
Demolition vs The Hart Foundation at Summerslam 90 was still one of the greatest matches ever. Also Smash returned as The Repo Man a couple of years later against Crush at Summerslam 92. RIP Crush 👍
great match. Always wondered why they made it 2 out of 3 falls
Hands down my favorite tag team there tag move is bad ass the painting on faces timelessness
Wow, Brian Adams sings and wrestles? Quite the Renaissance Man.
😇
These guys sound like ax and smash from demolition
These are their brothers.
This is the first time I'm seeing them as just regular guys. They were just larger than life for me.
Sweet Stan replaced Lover Boy Dennis perfectly
Right. Before that Bobby Eaton replaced Randy Rose with no problem!
@@Chuc_9600 Midnight vs Midnight at the end of '88 was cool!
Stan had a lot more experience than Bryan Adams did.
I think that's the only team where that worked.
@@zt1053 Ric Flair trained Stan.
Love these guys
My all-time favorite tag team. 80s were awesome.
Class acts! They delivered it in and out of the ring
Most definitely. Demolition was so good in their prime
Greatest Tag Team ever!
My favourite team of the 80's.They were hugely over and should've gone in the HOF years and years ago!
i just realised! Demolition , Bill, Barry and Brian!
Why aren’t these guys in the Hall of Fame?? Are they waiting for them to pass away first?!? Smh.
Because they have a lawsuit against WWE. Would you put in guys that are trying to sue you?
@Eric Lewis Undertaker
@Eric Lewis hey you asked and I answered.
That guy on the right would be a good repo man...just sayin
He looks like a Russian.
USMC scary Tag Team love these guys interviews I use to always put cobra clutch on my sons Masked Superstar
Halloween 87 I dressed as The Maxxed Superstar...anyone gets that, gimme thumbs up
Bill Eadie was the Masked Superstar before he was Ax. I combined the two gimmicks.
Love these guys.
Are they in the Hall of Fame? If not they deserve it
Poor Haku having to face them 2 alone at WM6 lol
It was a tough spot to be in, but at least Haku wore gold in WWF once. The Islanders were a VERY underrated tag team.
Only Haku was good enough to pull that off. Showed you how tough he really was.
@@MD-gl2vx Ricky Morton basically did that for the Rock 'N Roll Express every night.
@@palaceofwisdom9448 That is true. Morton was great.
yea haku is great. andre was hurting around that time why he wasn't used much at all.
These guys are dressed for 18 holes, brother!
lol
Barry is but Bill is dressed for the cabana.
Kid: Mom can we get the Road Warriors ?
Mom: no honey we have Demolition at home.
Kid: waaaaaaaa 😥😢
My all time favorite tag team, should been in Wwe Hof years ago
Demolition axe & smash
My favorite tag team ever!
I November crush and smash demolition Wrestle Tenryu & Koji Kitao at wrestlemania 7 on March 24, 1991
Best tag team hands down.
Demolition not in the wwe hall of fame is a crime
I think all 3 guys got a raw deal from McMahon. Ax was promised a job. Part of that job should have been writing for Crush. Smash wanted to keep working. Raw deal, then Demolition was no more.
All 3 members of Demolition should be in The WWE Hall of Fame.
(4:20) RICK WAS THE ORIGINAL CAM AM CONECTION NOT TITO
Nothing against Bryan Adams, hes a solid talent and i know he was brought in to fill a role but Demolition will always be Ax & Smash.
When the team began using the " freebird" tactic it just didn't work.
Axe was the Masked Superstar prior to Demolition.
He was also one of the masked machines as well
@@seanjahns3238 yes, that’s right. Andre was at one point too.
I was so disappointed when crush came along. I was just old enough to realize the writing was on the wall... Road warriors were cool, and first and yadda yadda, but demolition were my dudes lol
The Roadwarriors were overrated
