- Summer is here, which means lots of pool time for the little ones! But with fun in the water comes the annoying and painful swimmer’s ear.
Yesterday, Dr. Steven Goudy, our Chief Medical Officer, talked about what swimmer’s ear is and the signs your little one might have it. But today, in part 2 of our series, he’s diving into solutions to keep your kiddos ear healthy all summer long.
It's been 5 days I was prescribed with amoxicillin and ear drops , the pain is insane feels like a drill gun on high speed radiated throughout my head , jaw and neck , my ear canal is swollen I cant hear anything, I can't eat solid food. It's then absolutely worst

@remyybruhh4727 amoxicillin works after the 5th day , I took Tylenol 2 500mg each every 4hrs for 4 days , and my ear slowly healed . It's now 10 days the infection is mostly gone ... but you need to get the dried up dead wax out.... ear got extremely itchy and I started to scratch and it got infected again.......... ughhhh kms
OH NAH 5 FUCKIN DAYS. I CANT GO ON WITH THIS SHIT FOR 5 DAYS BRO... FUUUCK SWIMMING.
me too 🥲 it’s kind of hard to swallow or chew anything like oatmeal bc of my jaw, and the pain of it at nighttime while trying to sleep is the worst. i got prescribed ciprofloxacin and it’s only the second day of me using it
I've been using 3-5 drops of ear ache relief for the ear every morning and night for 5 minutes, and then rinse with warm water and use a blow dryer to dry my ear.
I had swimmers ear and I wouldn’t wish that pain on my worst enemy.
I got it now ive had it for like a week, i made the mistake of putting my head under spa water.
I tried cleaning out my ear with cotton buds which made it worse, went to the doctors and got perscribed oral anti biotics also ear drops, what helps with the pain is ibuprofin.
6 days later, my hearing came back just sitting at the computer, seems like the pain has pretty much gone, it's slightly still there, it is itchy a little bit sometimes but going back to normal.
I also mixed apple cider viniger with warm water and put that in my ear for 2-3 minutes laying on my side trying to flush out my ear a few times a day, then let it all drain out into a tissue.
Swimmers ear is the worst. The pain is unbelievable. For years I’d get one every July. I personally found that Ibuprofen and heating pad helped in addition to ear-drops and a wick (only needed that once) and antibiotics. 😢
From my side, I can say I had swimmers ear while spearfishing and ear infections before. I bought a pack of earplugs from Decathlon, which solved the problem. They were made of 100% silicone, with 3 pairs in one pack for different ear canal sizes, and I can still equilize with them + no water enterd my ears, but the most deep I went was around 21 feet. It costs only like 5 euros. On a side note dont put any water in your ears even from showering and no q tips or scratching inside ears and you should be fine.

@furryboi_5 I do not envy you. I do however empathize. Hove you tried half vinegar and half peroxide drop into the ear that hurts?

Was having no problem with my ear drops, went to the doctor just to be safe, no one told me what the wick was for (I’m only 15) they put it in my ear and it hurt, bad. Later that night it fell out, literally, it did nothing while it was in my ear.
