Similar build between mine and yours. 12 Black JKU on 40s. I was on 44s and recently upgraded to one tons. I also did an 8 speed swap and that was by far the best upgrade I've done. This isn't a daily driver, I have driven it all over
Hey Derrick! Yes, typically you would need stronger than D44’s to run 40’s. But, I don’t beat on it too hard because it is my daily and if you’re not doing anything crazy you can make d44’s last awhile. I’ve had 40’s on my 44’s for 3 years and no problems yet! Hope I answered your question.
Thank you for the quick response I’m looking to buy my first jeep have been doing a lot of research lately I have one in my area with D44 on 40’s I crossed that one off the list after all the talk you need bigger then D44 to run 40’s. Like you it would and will be an over built overland no major rock crawling thanks again for a response. Sub from me!
