Shocks & Surprises in Family History Research by Leslie Stewart (SRVGS)

Genealogy is finding date and place records, while family history is getting to know ancestors through other sources, such as family traditions. Some family traditions can be supplemented by genealogical records, and in some cases there is much ore to be found than a simple story. In other cases there can be shocks, where family history has is simply in error (at times shockingly so).
